Gigabyte Registers Four NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 12 GB Graphics Cards With the EEC

meaning that miners most likely will not look at these as viable options for mining
That's what everyone said in the past year or so every time a new card was released and without fault they've been wrong every single time.

I mean, if there wasn't a GDDR shortage up until now, this kind of guarantees there will be one. Wth does this GPU need 12GB for?
I just fired up nicehash and after a while the memory usage goes past 6GB easily, so for mining a regular 2060 might not cut it in the future.

People have to come to terms with the fact that from now on Nvidia and AMD will mostly be concerned about how well suited their products are for mining, that's why all of these choices seem really strange. It's because their not meant to appease to regular consumers.

Why couldn't they release a 25xx series instead? Ampere on a older node but with lower clocks, would meet the same targets and be a better outcome.

Ampere on a older node but with lower clocks

Porting chips to newer or older nodes is expensive and time consuming and most likely not worth it at this point.

It is funny that Nvidia announced that they are creating a CMP line with mostly Turing chips. Turns out that the Turing cards are directed back to gamers. I wonder where are the Ampere cards now?

.........i personally prefer to choose rtx 3060 12gb, because its much better gpu than this rtx 2060 12gb......
