It is the closest to me, but the download of the nvidia drivers was double digit kb/s. US6 downloaded without issue.

Connection is fiber to the home 1G/1G.

That's been around a while, I was told the red triangle appears if the poster has received a warning.

Correct, it has a tooltip "this post has received a warning" or something

last few days, the front mage shows as me needing to sign in, but when I click it, it says I am already signed in. TPU Frontpage.PNG

I think if you log in on the forums, it doesn't mean you're logged into the main site.

If you log out, and then jump on the main page and log in, then you will be logged into the site and the forums.

I think. :p

Seems I ran across that in the past.

No, it does.

You're logged in to both or neither. It's not a separate login.

If a forum post quotes two distinct parts of another post, like this one:
Like the USD is tied to the US...

Point being? A huge percentage...

... then it appears twice in the notification list:

The timestamps are different but there's no indication in the post itself that it has been edited. It's just a little annoying. Even if the post was actually edited later, it would be nice if the notification list displayed the last change only.

I think that may have been a case of me abusing/using automerge, FWIW.

Still, I agree.

Correct

Does it help if you log out and then back in through the forums?
I'll need to check that, today I arrived logged out, not something I did on purpose, so its showing correctly on the front page.

I think if you log in on the forums, it doesn't mean you're logged into the main site.
its never been that way for me, I've always been logged into the main site as well as the forums.

Of note, I'm not seeing this problem. Being shown as logged in both in the forums and on the front page.

Running Firefox ESR channel.

can confirm i've seen this, a few new users spam out posts and i'll see a string of em

I suppose w1zz can now merge notifications, too

Is this a big deal? Kinda too lazy to spend a few hours to update the addon for a rare case

My vote is to throw it in a low priority pile as a known bug, so if you ever work on it for another reason you're aware of it

Mods may see it more often but for me it's a rare occurence, no big deal.

Clearing cookies should help too.
This could be why I never seem to see problems like the above. My browser is configured to delete ALL cookies and LTSO's on exit. As a result, everytime I visit site data has to be loaded fresh as opposed to accessing cached data, which doesn't exist. This means that when changes are made to the site compatibility with cached data is never an issue.

Perhaps those of you having problems should consider deleting cookies and cached site data.

That isn't always a good idea. Cached data is not meant to be personal or tracking data - it's just meant to be for convenience - e.g. session data or form data to be filled. Plus it saves you network requests and saves internet data.
