Hi everyone, I really need help and I just discovered this web page.
I am not very sure what my problem is. I bought a rx 580 on eBay for a nice price compare to the market where I'm at.

So, I know that other card works in my system, I've tested a gtx 750 and a rtx 2070S.
I've also tested my rx 580 in a other pc build and it was working. But not in mine.

I've just discovered that there is a BIOS switch on my gpu.
I would like some help. I don't know what to do. I'm pretty nooby about all these bios thing with the GPU.

Tell me what to do, what pictures to take for you to understand.
I'll be ready

I already tried the two side of the switche and nothing is giving me some display. I repeat, I’m not having black screen or direct boot to windows. I just don’t have any display.
But the card work on other more recent setup. So that’s why I think maybe the bios have been change and my older computer cant take it.

Hello.
Would you be so kind and share with us your system specs?
I mean the system where you've tested the card and does not post.

OK. so you have a system with UEFI.
That would be good to check the mainboard BIOS settings before anything else.

I already check, I can set it to UEFI first. Already done that but it won't change anything

OK...if you take out the HDD or SSD whatever you have, and power on your computer, it shows anything ?
Actually when it post in BIOS it must show something

I am currently at work, so I'll check that when I get home. Didn't try anything without the HDD/SSD.

But the thing is, when it post, it's on my integrated gpu. So when I force for PCIE into the bios and plug the hdmi into the rx 580, it doesn't post.
I didn't do anything to the bios myself, but I think maybe the guy who I bought it from (ebay) was mining with it.

Possible, i will ask you when you arrive at home to do the following :
1st - take out HDD or SSD - boot and put PCIex as default card - put cable in it and boot again to check
If w/o O/S (in your case windows) it shows image then we have a starting point. If not you go back in BIOS and set back iGFX as default and start again the system to POST only.
2 - If you have an answer from point 1 we will go anyway into windows - you will start GPU-z and you will make a picture from that. Also you will use the arrow shape button to save your current BIOS in a file and you will post it here to let me check it if it was modded or not.
3 - I also need a picture from GPU-z advanced TAB as shows below to see what exact type of memory chips you have

Ok, but since we have 7 hours of delay in time (I'm in Canada, guessing you're in Romania), I'll take as much information that I can take while you're there.
With all the previous try that I did, my guess is that the windows (including GPU-z) will not detect my gpu. What would be the next step after that.

Yesterday, I tried to turn the switch the bios switch while windows was open to reset the bios as I saw on YouTube. But nothing came up for this.

The BIOS switch is meant to let you choose which BIOS will use the video card at boot. 1 position is for performance and 2nd pos is for quiet.
If you can start windows even with iGFX and you go to GPU-z to make that picture would be important.
Yes it is a small possibility to have a modded BIOS (actually both of them) so we will try to solve the problem in small steps.
At what time you will arrive at home at your GMT ?
I will be next to my computer at least 4 hours from now...so i believe we will manage somehow

Ok, I see, so I'm better to follow your steps and we'll continue with that.
I'll be ready around 7pm UTC -5 (Montreal, CA)

well that will be 2 am my time :)
I won't be arround at that time
But @eidairaman1 is from US so he will be on at that time, maybe he can take it from where you will be at that time

EDIT : btw, i am not a native English speaker so if i make some grammar mistakes you will forgive me... :)

Ok the other system that the card works in, plug the gpu into that and get us a gpu-z screenshot in both bios switch positions, a general tab and advanced tab with memory context menu selected.

Im at work so cant really respond, i will around 7 pm CST.

All right, I'm thanking you a lot for the help guys. But I am currently proceeding to a refund on eBay for this card. I'm bored of having trouble with this card. Plus, it doesn't even match with the description ... (nitro+ instead of pulse) I was having problem fitting the card (physically) into my old pc built.

I found a gtx 1060 6gb for 300 bucks which will fit perfectly for my need + a little boost of performance with the 1060 6gb.

Have a nice one!!

Beyond that 4GB is getting long in the tooth.

yeah you're right, I'm more on the side of light gaming so it was ok for me. But I finally got the 1060 6gb at 280$CA which is very good compare to the market right now. I'm seeing 1060 6gb at 450-550$ on facebook marketplace right now
