M.2 Slot Change

So I need to change my current m.2 to a different slot. I have my games and windows stored on it. what do i need to be aware of before I do so, or can I just change slot and boot right back up?

You may have to change the boot order in your BIOS, it should work after that.

PCIe 16x running at 8x?

I have a rog strix z690 E-gaming 1700 mobo with a 19 12900k CPU and my 6900xt is in the correct slot but keep getting 8x instead of 16x in my bus interface. How should I trouble shoot this?
