Remedy Entertainment and Rockstar Games to Remake Max Payne 1 & 2

I like the originals and would have a look but damnnnn, are new games banned these days.

Sorry, answered to the wrong person

What does that even mean!?

Woke is all the rage these days, a principle for snowflake and bottom of social ladder crowds, that rely on social media to bring context to their lives. Its trolling gone way out of control and the reason creative talent gets muzzled in favor of 'dont hurt anyones feelings-content'. Where feeling is whatever the mood of the day is on Twitter.

If content is too obviously muzzled because of that Im not spending a single cent on it.

Oh is it? And here I thought it was just an excuse for people to be very upset by something that really doesn't affect them in the slightest, but indeed culture wars are more popular than ever I guess

The point is, that it does affect a lot more than it should, even in things that do affect people. Its really quite fine if cultural 'progress' makes for changes in games and gaming. Its not fine when that silences general variety and creativity, or even the intent of a game's elements. It happens in a lot of entertainment and it doesn't make it better, at least, IMHO. And yes, a lot of it does happen because mainstream sells and mainstream has devolved into a state where other 'things' that happen outside of each persons' limited biome are unacceptable. That's the culture war and its a race to the bottom, its not even a matter of what side you're on. So what if things could offend you? You avoid it, its not for you, and that's fine, because there's so much more. But commerce wants to sell, so they cater to a 'popular' norm that is fed by hype.

Art is very often defined by the fact it has elements that cause people to think, and perhaps adjust their stance on notions they had, or how they looked at things. Art is quite often really supposed to challenge and perhaps even insult some part of you. You might see it, you might not, and admittedly this often requires a bit of insight or intelligence - or even an idea of 'what it was like at the time' to accept it. In the case of Max Payne I think the game's original style is a very specific one, and one the game needs, including all of its 'less acceptable' things.

And if it was "woke" what are you going to do?
The latter one, never buy it, I'll let youtubers do all the anti-woke backlash (if that does happen), I'll speak with my wallet.

Thankyou, better than I could of explained it.

It used to be that when someone mentioned something being "pc" (politically correct), I instantly knew they were probably a shitty human being.

Modern day it's "woke".

I have incredibly conservative family from Appalachia, that I don't associate with for these reasons. They are incredibly ignorant, uneducated, hateful, sexist and racist. But they are at church every Sunday, "trying to be better people" and at the Trump rallies, when he comes to town.

Exactly my point. As most remakes end up in remasters. If you had fun with MP 1 and 2. You would realise that it would take ages to remake those games and cinematic. Remake will be something different from the original and part out eventually. I dont think someone would do that to their original content.

Well, in my reading a Remaster is just shaping up the original, keeping technical parts, while Remake is like Mafia Definitive, where they remade the whole first game technically anew, only keeping the creative part of the original, like the story, the location, the location's layout, everything that needed to keep to be Mafia. They even refined the characters here and there giving the whole story-experience a new vibe. The classic edition of the Mafia was more serious, maybe a bit more gloomy, the Definitive edition is more vivid through the changes and the added details.
