I have 30$ lying around after buying parts for the PC. The old keyboard I was using is getting worn out and I just saw a Razer Blackwidow Ultimate 2014 edition used in under 30$ and it seems clean. Should I buy that keyboard as I wanted one with RGB and hot swappable keys. Or should I search for some other chinese keyboard? Please suggest me.

Skyloon/royal kludge get your Chinese keyboarding on

Just no to the old Blackwidow. I had one and the keys weren't pressing. It's an old board with old school Cherry Green / Blue that's not great for much except noise.

RK61 and such can be kinda fine, but they're mostly %60 small boards.

Saving up to a Keychron or similar would be my more honest recommendation.

Most of these brands are not available in my region... And these are priced over 40$. It would be good too if the keys weren't swappable. I just needed a mechanical keyboard with good backlight and some durability. I can still go with 60% keyboard if possible.

There are mostly Redragon, Bloody and Tdagger here but they are not under my budget.

Yeah, I'd stay away from those brands. Can you give us a more available site to choose from?

There is Fantech too but idk if their products are worth buying and they are cheap in my area.

Yes There is Czone.com.pk, Daraz.pk and Olx.com.pk where I can get keyboards from

Tbh, save up. The only thing actually worth it down there seems to be the Glorious GMMK. It's actually a fine board you can swap stuff on, but out of your budget.

Got it but I have seen T dagger keyboards which I can buy is Arena, Bali and corvette. Will you recommend me one of these?

T-Dagger seems to use Outemu switches, they're meh. Especially the blues are loud and lacking. Saving up towards the GMMK seems to be the better bet especially now that the GMMK 2 comes stocked with better stuff than the Browns of the older GMMK.

Got it thanks a lot for giving me your time. Have a good day :)

My personal opinion is that mechanical keyboards is not worth it. It may be different for you of course, but I'll take a decent rubber dome keyboard (specifically those chunky Dell keyboards) over any mechanical keyboard any day of the week.

Some scissor switch keyboards are good, yes. Laptop type low-profile stuff come to mind. Though often times a really good mechanical keyboard blows them out of the water, tbh. There are many mushy mechanical boards out in the market, which might make you think otherwise.

My Leopold has 30g actuation so it feels kind of like a heavy membrane keyboard in a better form. :)

Save your money and reconsider when your budget is bigger.
This. A good mechanical keyboard will outlast several CPU/GPU upgrades. Mine is about a decade old now, cost me €100, and I've easily spent €3-4K on keeping my hardware up to date in the same time period.

With mech keyboards, if you buy cheap, you'll buy twice. Look for a metal baseplate and Cherry/Gateron reds or browns depending on whether you want linear or tactile. Kaihl seem a little scratchy for my liking, but some reviewers also put Kaihl into the "worth buying" category.

Frankly speaking, if you expect anything special out of mechanical keyboard, then you will be disappointed. It des feel somewhat different, but that's it. It's not like going from 1440p to 4K. Like others say, 30 USD isn't enough for reasonable keyboard. For this money you can find good scissor switch keyboard or just proper membrane keyboard. Mechanical for 30 USD is going to be bottom of the barrel stuff, that most likely feels quite poor to type on. If you can find, Lenovo Preferred Pro keyboard is pretty decent membrane keyboard.

I'd say that once you have mechanical keyboard for a while, there's no going back. There are good rubber domes like you said, but those aren't even near a mechanical what it comes to typing, at least in my opinion.

Well yeah, the key here is "good" mechanical board. Some cheap mech with browns might feel lackluster for sure... and nowadays you don't necessarily need to spend a boatload to get a good mech. There are lots of fine examples of good boards around 100 bucks.

Actually never tried browns so I can't say anything about those. Mine has red Cherry copies.

They tend to have switch testers and boards with different switches down stores that sell mechanical keyboards, reds I'd prefer over brown usually. Browns feel mushy to me but then again, preferences... yeh.

I've probably seen one as I know what you mean.

I have a SPC Gear GK630K Tournament with Kailh brown switches, mainly cause I can't stand loud keyboards and even this is borderline acceptable for me noise wise.

This cost me around 70$ at the time of buying it, so far I have no issues with it but to be honest I'm not sure if it was worth it over my usual membrane keyboards I had in the past.
I can game all the same on a 15$ keyboard and this so yea dunno. 'it has fancy features I will give it that..'

If I had to work with it like 8 hours/day then sure I would want a mecha keyboard but for casual gaming, nah its no different for me in overall.

Btw Red Dragon has some decent stuff nowadays for the price, its not as bad as some ppl make it sound like.

Most keys make a lot of noise not because of the switch (although it's definitely the case for blues,) but because you bottom out the keys to the keyboard chassis. You'd be surprised at how well o-rings reduce noise on keyboards. As for me, used to use blues then switched to a Logitech with the gl clicky switches. I personally really like the short throw of the keys and I feel that I can type a lot faster on them than with my other mechanical keyboards. Granted, it came at one hell of a price premium.

Redragon Kumara K552.
