Corsair, one of the world's leading PC component brands, is being hit hard by macroeconomics and consumers' choice - and sometimes need - to keep more dollars in their pockets. According to its own internal accounting, the company has announced that it expects between $10 and $11 million dollars in losses for 2Q 2022 (April-June) throughout its business. Remember that this isn't a case of a company being too specific in its product line and taking the heat from it; Corsair has one of the most diverse lineups in PC components, ranging from memory, water and air cooling, SSDs, peripherals, and even monitors.

Not unlike other businesses, which have seen inventory levels soar on account of much lower than expected sales, Corsair too has seen its warehouses starting to fill up - not unlike the company's financials, there's less and less oxygen within its warehouses as inventory piles up. Corsair did say it expects business to pick up considerably in the third quarter, as it has seen an uptick in enthusiast-level PC gaming sales (likely spurred by the dropping prices of GPUs as miners dump their graphics cards in expectation of Ethereum's Merge event, set for September). The increase in sales leads the company to believe it will achieve a 35% YoY (year-over-year) growth throughout the second half of 2022, which will hopefully be enough to push the company back above the red line.

I think Corsair could use a redesign on some (not all) of the products to make them look more classy like their water coolers. Those things look so dated, imo.

what they and other brands can do is to make affordable products that doesn't suck. Only then they'll see people start buying their stuff.

It'll be a huge shame if Corsair has to down size massively or go under. They have one of the best customer support/warranty experiences out there in my experience

Absolutely this. iCUE caused issues on 3 of my systems; high CPU on one, and the other two had BSODs which traced back to iCue drivers/services.

Uninstalling resolved all instability problems.

Oh, their RGB keyboards have extremely poor reliability lighting - I have more than 6 failed LEDs on a K70 and a K95.

Not necessarily, i have my LL120 fans connected to my motherboard for control, rather that thee Corsair controller and software. But otherwise i agree, iCUE is awful.
isn't that an ASUS exclusive thing?

It's probably time Corsair stopped charging insane prices for their average fans and AIOs. I sure hope it's not actually costing them that much to make these products...

This is in no way surprising. PC parts were never supposed to be expensive en masse. Today New products have not yet accepted that food, energy and Streaming are much more important than the absolute market that represents elective spending of resources. The 7000 Airflow as an example is $299 (CAD) in a world where it should be no higher than $199. It is unfortunate that many people will lose their livelihood with the decline, but it is a reminder of the reality we are all in. Having said all of that it could also be a red herring because Corsair is the least expensive way to get into water cooling and their products are readily available but not as cheap as no name brands from Amazon (Canada) That is every niche though (for now). That does not mean that Keyboards and mice from them are not nauseatingly expensive and RAM is not as good as Youtube would have you believe. Maybe it was the cost of expanding a e-market in North America in Q1 as you can buy in Canada a 360MM rad for $99 and only pay tax and get it in like 2-3 days max.

How about their gaming mice, which last two years before developing double-click?

Corsair is just a higher end Thermaltake. They put their name on whatever they can. I guess their customer service is the reason they are so popular? Shouldn’t need customer service..

Personally iCUE is the only reason I stay away from all Corsair products; I don't know if they improved it, but last time I used that thing, it was legit using 15% of my CPU continuously and I have no idea what it was doing with it.

What comes after boom? Business conditions are the worst in 40 years imo. Not just the likes of corsair.

Massive global recession is coming. Probably GFC 2 in fact

If they're expecting the general economic situation to help them in Q3 and 4 they're in for a massive shock.

Computer gear is generally pro cyclical, most of us don't actually need to buy it. Other things, food, shelter are much higher priority when the economy goes to hell.

I dont honestly believe their products suck. Quite the opposite actually. I have a lot of Corsair products and they're quite good and hold up for a long time.

Really? I thought they were all Canadians. (Developers are borderless...)

Not using the RGB features?

Scapegoats-R-US.
You may not have actually realized it, or meant it, but your connection is pretty good. Bar Russia, Canada has the world's largest Ukrainian disapora population. So depending on how you look at it, it's possible those Ukrainian developers could indeed be -- if I may be cheeky -- Canadian.

That said, I'd personally hope that isn't the case because I wouldn't want my country tied to iCue in any way whatsoever (YMMV). :)

Phanteks SK line have great lighting but they use a different header. They will give you an adapter. If you want nice easy and tight Cooler Master are much better in that regard. The sickleflow fans that Amazon overcharges for the white version are really nice too though. In win Planet series also use a different header and they have translucent fan blades so the RGB effect is not as pronounced. All of those fans offer great acoustic performance as long as you tune them. They are also not expensive vs Corsair. A 3 Pack of SK 140s is less than 1 140mm ARGB Maglev fan.

This, exactly this. Corsair has replaced innovation with RGB and they'll deservedly end up on the same trajectory as Thermaltake if they don't change their course.
