Hello,

I have a problem with my computer when i try to play for exemple The Witcher 3 : Wild Hunt or Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order my PC goes to a black screen and my fans starts to spin a lot. I changed my drivers to see, i did a clean install too, but it keeps being here.

My specs are those :

Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-10400F CPU @ 2.90GHz
Kingston 16GO DDR4 (2x8GB) 2666Mhz
KINGSTON SA2000M81000G M.2 1TO
TEXTORM B5 120GB SSD
Motherboard : Gigabyte B460M AORUS PRO
Radeon RX 5500 XT
And Corsair CV 650W.

If you can help me please, i'll be more than happy. (Sorry for my bad english)

Have a nice day

Try to make sure that all cables from the PSU are connected properly/tightly.

Also, try a 3D benchmark program to see if it is an issue with being able to render 3D or just a conflict somewhere.

Have you tried a clean install of windows?

I checked and rechecked they are fixed correctly.

I tried a 3D benchmark it all went well except at the end when i quit the benchmark, black screen and every fans are starting to spin a lot. I did 2 clean and fresh install of Windows. And i saw that one of my PCI-E doesn't see my graphic card but the other does.

I personally dont like the look of the corsair power supply. Its cheap bottom of the barrel stuff from them so there is a chance that it could be the PSU although we'll work through the diagnosing slowly.

If your PC is dusty - get a can of compressed air and give it a blast - Things could be over heating.

Secondly reseat your ram or remove one of the sticks and try to load a game. If you can get into a game then quit out, shut down and swap the stick with the other you pulled out and try again.

If both sticks of ram work have no problem then pull your graphics card and try testing on a different PC. If you dont have a spare PC to test. you can also try using a spare graphics card if you have one handy. swap them around install the drivers like you would normally and load up a game again.

If everything runs fine. It could be the power supply. If you have one spare then you can pull the corsair out and use the spare to test it in the machine. If you dont have a spare, you can either buy one or take your PC down to a repair shop and ask if they would be willing to use one of theirs to test for you. They might charge you a small fee for it but it beats buying a new power supply.

Lots of faulty power supplies can run fine while in windows but start crashing as soon as you load up something more demanding.

While doing the benchmark, open GPU-Z and see the sensors tabs.
See the power draw and temps.

I have cleaned up my PC like almost every week, tested my RAM (both are working fine) but i can't try for my graphic card because i don't have a spare one i'll try once i'll have it. But i think too it's the PSU i'll try. Also i have the name of my error : Kernel 41.

I tried but with one screen it seems i can't or i'm just dumb at it ( i think more it's "i'm dumb at it")

If youre going to replace the PSU, I would suggest checking out this tier list and getting something from either C or B tier if you can afford it. The list is a little dated but the same powersupplies should still be available at any decent retailer.

Thanks for the advice i'm checking on the french websites for finding one. Also is the PSU able to set one of my PCI-E port down? Because on the upper one, it doesn't works but in the bottom one it works.

You can do that if you want but the overall performance would go down quite considerably due to the amount of bandwidth available. The top PCI-Ex slot is 16x while the second one is 4x

Well i'm asking that because my upper one is not working soo... i'm thinking if it's not the Motherboard

Well, in this case this changes a lot of things. It could be your motherboard which is on its way out.

My suggestion at this stage would be to take your PC down to a repair shop and let them do the testing for you before you start replacing things that you might not need to and wasting money if youre not good with stuff like this.

You could try your hand at getting an identical board from ebay or a new one from any other retailer that has stock for a 1:1 swap that wont require you needing to reinstall windows (I think it shouldnt do...) but thats all i can suggest.

last time i got a Kernel 41 error i replaced my PSU  (well and the mobo cpu ram ... tho ) but my PSU was a Seasonic M12 II 750W Evo
Kernel 41 indicate faulty hardware and since i sold the mobo CPU RAM and the next user got no issues with it, i suspect it was the PSU, which was a good one but almost 7-8yrs in the teeth, although i would not touch anything corsair if it was in the CX and CV line of products

tho the Mobo seems a bit iffy if the main PCIeX slot does not work

CS, VS, VC, VX, nope

After looking more in details it seems that my RX 5500 XT has a default with fan curves and that i have to do them manually. I tried and everything seemed fine, i keep you in touch.

I had this issue on my Vega card about a week ago. Loading to desktop is fine but as soon as I put heavy load on the card I got the same issue as the OP. The problem was there was high resistance in the cable contact Ie the 6/8 pin socket. Inserting the cable many times fixed my issue. This go's to show it is possible that the cable may not make proper contact even if it is latched/lock in-place.

I can confirm, it was my GC, so the problem with the RX 5500 XT is that you have to do the fans curve manually or else they don't turn or only if extreme heat.

Yup that card has a noiseless function (never believed in it on any card)

Get a gpu-z screenshot, then go to the advanced tab and click the chevron next to general and switch to memory timings and get a screenshot there.

tell me if you need more screens because i can't find "memory timings".

So when you click on the word that says General you can't find memory timings?

(Your specific card doesnt have that option)

By the way be specific with your gpu's

Anyways from your bios data:

Go to where it says 3D fan for your product description.

it's this one
https://www.gigabyte.com/Graphics-Card/GV-R55XTD6-8GD-rev-20#kf

Which still has the 3D Active fan function, did you read it?

Yeah but it doesn't works when i try to load a heavy game = black screen and the fans start spinning so i had to curve the fan speed manually
