Back in July 2020, Logitech G and Herman Miller unveiled a special edition of the Embody chair from Herman Miller as a gaming chair unlike anything that was on the market at the time. It didn't get rave reviews as a gaming chair, although it's considered a very good office chair in the Herman Miller range. There was also the issue of the asking price, which was a steep US$1,495.

Fast forward to 2022 and the two companies are planning to release what they call an "ergonomic chair designed to adapt to every gamer's needs". The two companies have apparently had a closer collaboration this time and have created their "first-ever design built from the ground up to support every mode of play". The new chair is set to launch on the 6th of October and until then we only have a small teaser picture of what appears to be the back of the chair and what should be the lumbar support adjustment wheel.

So, more expensive and less comfortable.

Difficult to make any assumptions since no pricing was revealed and no one has tried the new chair in person yet.

It should be pointed out that Herman Miller offers several models of chairs in different sizes and people's bodies are different. Chair X might be comfortable to Person A whereas Chair Y might be more preferable to Person B.

The main point is that two noted companies in their respective industries are working together.

Whether or not it's a successful collaboration remains to be seen but criticizing their effort at this stage is mean spirited more than anything else.

Personally I am curious to see what they came up with.

Disclaimer: I have owned a Herman Miller Aeron for nearly 25 years and multiple Logitech products since the early Nineties.

Should have collaborated with Asus, and made a proper ROG chair. Aint nobody buying Logi chair for more than 230.

IKEA already did that...

Whilst the Steelcase Leap is better for this, the Embody was a pretty universal chair (i.e. it should be suitable for most people). I wonder what a new offering may look like, or if it'll just be another HM with blue accents.

Care to link the sales numbers?

The price is very high, I wouldn't think sales were that great since anyone with that kind of budget would more likely already be looking at a Herman Miller chair instead of the logitech collab/rebrand.

For them to be making a 2nd chair, I would hazard a guess the Embody collab was considered a success for either or both of them?

My computer chair only cost me $120 dollars at office depot. Had it for 3 years now.

next up LV gaming wallets, prada gaming jackets, nike gaming jordans

For that price, I hope the arm rests are gold plated at least and comes with Wifi 6.

Wireless armrests

Herman Miller though is generally a company that makes real chairs. Not those snowflake racing seats

Gaming chairs are the biggest scam the world has ever seen. Why? Because people never sit in them how pictures show. People basically sit vertically, so the back of the chair is completely unused.

As a result the back gets tired, and your neck even more so. Oh, welcome headache if you don't wear headphones. The muscles in the neck become stiff which decreases blood flow which results in a headache.

Would be great to get a chair which actually supports your back and head. I can't even image how it can be done physically.
There is no chair that eliminates back problems. To achieve that you need to actually not sit still ;) Move frequently, do sports, you know, the usual lifestyle points doctors advise.

If you start slouching you should start moving. What a good ergonomic chair does, is keep fatigue where it should be. You have to react by taking a break.

Fifteen hundred? I'll be sitting under a bridge and I still won't cough that dough!

And yet here you are, sitting on a washing machine. ;)

Logitech is better known for peripherals. Go look at the top mice and stuff actually use are. It's not ROG anything. Zowie, logitech, Razer, Steelseries and they aren't cheap.

You do realize this machine vibrates all the time, right? ;)

It took me some time and money to show my wife there are cheaper alternatives. I was like 'Hon, it's only rated for 10lbs, you know. Get you butt off of it.'

I have two Aerons at home. Great chairs, but I did not pay the usual 1500 for each of them. I got the ones that are used as floor models for half off, then got to write it off due to back problems.

This Herman Miller chair isn't what you recommended, I guess.

Aaaaand I'll see myself out now :peace:

That was the previous model, which was just a slightly updated Herman Miller chair.
It's unknown what the new chair will cost.

I bet it won't be too far off. And for that price I'd get some decent furniture, alas sans 'gaming' features.

I am highly interested in it.... comfort of my arse is a top priority.
