Power limiting is the safest. Also very easy - just put target wattage into bios or pick the “air cooler” option. The 13700f is just a power limited 13700kf with locked oc and mem controller.

undervolting is more finicky.

power limiting a 13700kf will let u run it under air just fine, no need for undervolt unless you really just want to fine tune.

with a kf u can increase the turbo ratio and power limit at the same time to get small boost over the 13700f

Not from my testing - idk if pumping sa / vddq volts may get you to your power limit quicker? but I’ve had no issues overclocking ram with a power limit on the cpu at all.

Set both to 200W and you can air-cool - that's the 200W cap (PL1=PL2=200W). Essentially you're limiting max boost (regardless of time) to 200W. Most modern high end aircoolers can handle a 200W sustained load without issue and 200W is low enough that the cores won't insta-throttle like they do at 250W+ due to IHS not being able to dissipate the heat fast enough.

Games rarely pull over 150W so 200W is a good target for everyday use.

Honestly, if you're not interested in overclocking and don't get hung up on small settings, wait for the 13700F. Don't pay too much dollar because the game will satisfy the performance, but if you don't have an external card without an IGPU, that's fine. problem. You should get a spare GT 1030 or 730 .

im not intrested in CPU overclocking but 13700F has locked memory overclock so 13700KF can use better memory and tbh only reason 13700F is an option is becouse i had bad experience once with AIO so i odly developed a unjustified aversion off AIO coolers

Essentially, yes. It shows up on benchmarks sometimes but the actual FPS doesn't increase in games by more than 1-2.

Do you plan to tweak/overclock ram? If not 13700F. If you plan on OC ram 13700KF is better since SA voltage is unlocked so 7200+ speed is possible if you get a good kit, 6000c30 is usually Hynix M-die so that will work. On 13700F I would max expect 6500 ram OC since SA volt is locked.

If running xmp then you I would buy a 13700F + B760 combo and save the money 13700KF + Z790 only gives you better performance if you overclock the ram and CPU

Yes, but point is the Hynix M-die in the 6000-kit can do 7200-7400MHz using an unlocked CPU, but if you use a locked CPU your SA-voltage is locked to around 0.95v which makes speeds past 6500 very unlikely. On unlocked CPUs you can raise SA voltage to 1.3v+ and achieve far better ram overclocking. VDDQ voltage also matters and cannot be raised on locked CPUs. If you buy a 6000-kit and plan to just enable XMP and run it at 6000 then buy 13700F and B760 since you will get no benefit since you don`t overclock. If you buy a 13700KF and Z790 you can probably run that 6000 kit at 7200 with tuned subs and gain 10-15% performance vs just xmp, add a few hundred MHz on a core overclock at you gain 20%+ vs a 13700F + 6000 ram that runs stock, but going Z790 and K-CPU is a waste of money if you don`t plan to overclock ram and CPU

The 13 gen i7 13700 / 13700F natively supports DDR5 5600mhz. B660 and B760 boards allow for memory overclocking. B760 + 13700 / 13700F + DDR5 6000 is where it's at.

I don't see any reason to overpay for K and Z besides just "having it". I doubt there would be NOTICEABLE performance difference without a benchmarks. Both a high-end CPUs. Also, I doubt you will get REASONABLE OC, so having overpriced Z mobo is also "a question". Perhaps, for better RAM speed compatibility, but, again, it's all measured with benchmarks, I doubt you would say about your potential system with 13700F and 5600.28 ram that it's "sluggish" lol.

Non K CPUs have the system agent voltage locked, which limits the memory speeds.

if question about DDR4-3200 and ANY DDR5 then OK. But, just put any DDR5 and stop being fan of that AIDA64 AAA game.

What is your GPU and monitor resolution?

If the price difference is less than $500 total, I would get the K version. if more than that, then it depends on the rest of your system and your financial situation.

$500 is reasonable money to just "waste". $100-150 difference on this price-breakdown is acceptable overpaying lmfao

220w/220w is a bit insane tbh. You would want a minimum 360 AIO to pull that off ... 420 AIO would be more like it.
