Hi I could use some help or input. Let me start by saying I have the Asus cross hair hero wifi and a ASRock taichi razer edition. All parts I have tested on both boards and I can confirm they work normally on ASRock board. I'd also like to mention my ram is on the qvl for both vendors. Now that's out the way I'll post my system specs quick.

SPECS
CPU Ryzen 9 5900x
Gpu zotac 3070 amp holo
Ram trident z neo 3600mhz cl 14
Psu seasonic gx850 gold
Aio Corsair h150i
Windows 11
Keep in my everything works perfect on ASRock board. And both these boards are pretty much new. I had ASRock board for a few months then bought Asus board I just never installed it until a few days ago.

ISSUE
I was playing a game the other day and the system just shut off. I turned on, did it again. I gave up it was late next day jumped on to play destiny 2 worked fine which I found weird. Next day jumped on to play. Happened again. restarted happened again.
So the stuff I have enabled in bios is docp ram overclock to 3600mhz. Pbo is set to enable that's it. No special tuning. Also the gpu has resizable bar enabled. So I reset bios and now it throws a 00 Dr bios error with light stuck on CPU. Won't boot now. I unplug, drain power, plug back in now it wont even full get into windows before it shuts off. So I pulled out the ram and swapped slots. Still 2 and 4 just switched them around. I found you really gotta push them in snug. Even past first click you will hear a second click almost. Now it seems to work fine. They were working fine before but one day it just started shutting off randomly. I wanna sell ASRock board but not sure it's a board issue. I guess time will tell. Has anyone had this issue or is this common. I have built several systems. So I'm not new to this but pushing in as hard as I did made me a little squeamish lol. At least we know Asus has tight grippers . I also checked ram channels and they are clean. The board is brand new kinda. I bought it in July but never even took it out of box until now. Been so busy haven't had time. Thanks

For those if any are wondering I solved issue. There is a setting in advance overclocking / then pbo settings. I disabled a setting rig works perfect now. If there's anyone with exact problem let me know I'll post exactly what it is. It's a custom feature only on Asus boards I believe. I forgot name off hand but I'll look. Thanks

Fmax?

Other than that... That setting is crap. But thinking that when you enable docp and expect a AMD system to be stable.

No. It requires manual tuning even on stock.

Not always the case

I am an Asus x570 user myself... It runs weird and unoptimised on stock. Enabling anything in the ASUS OC section breaks AMD Agesa boost algo and stability. Default RAM secondaries and tetriaries are uttery wrong on auto.

Thats life for you these days.

Hmm Using AsRock Here, no issues with DOCP...

Infact I havent even updated the bios either B550 Steel Legend with a 5800

Yes fmax is what it is. From what I heard it's not meant for Ryzen 5000 series. I was on a ASRock x570 taichi razer edition and everything was fine. That's why I figured it was either the board or a setting in bios. I have g skill 3600 mhz cl14 and docp was fine until I enabled that one setting. Then system when bat shit crazy. Weird though my CPU with pbo auto enabled can hit 200 mhz higher on Asus board than ASRock board but cinebench score is almost the same. I don't tinker to much anymore just want what I payed for to work.

My system for those interested. I also included pic in bios which was giving me holy hell. I returned the first board for this one. Which turned out this whole time to be the problem. So I'm guessing first board was good.

I'm back to rant some more. Happened again last night. Playing a game (destiny 2). It froze I lost sound then it restarted. I actually got a bsod and before it restarted I was able to see the error critical pro. I disabled all pbo setting put everything pretty much stock except for ram docp which is set at 3600 mhz. I completely wiped system and redid windows and reinstalled everything. Ran fine for a bit then happened again. I have sleeved extensions from cable mod. I removed the 24 pin and CPU pins. Running fine again. Either cables or just draining power and resetting. This has happened before. I've done the same thing remove sleeved cables go back to stock. All is good so far. Is their any way to see if my CPU is degraded. It's not ram. Even if I put it to stock it still happens. All parts are relatively new. All bought new. Does anyone have any idea what's going on. ? And what does stop code critical pro mean. I have videos of it happening and pics if anyone is interested. I can remove sleeved cables and system will run fine. After a week or so I put sleeved cables back on will work for 2 weeks and out of nowhere happen again.
Thanks guys. Again I'm sorry to rant not sure what to do.

You should link your other thread (I'm assuming that's what your saying). If not what troubleshooting steps have you taken?
Tested PSU rails underload, test GPU and PSU in another rig if possible etc...
With gaming issues those are the first components I check.
What components are you running?

The obvious answer is return the extensions. You seem determined to use them but if they are causing you headaches...toss em. Target practice is a nice relaxing way to rid yourself of vexing parts ;)

I don't have other thread. All my components are in first comment. Acting fine again. Not sure what the issue is. I've tested power supply, and other components separately. It's getting a bit irritating. And yea thought about getting the rifle out and giving it holy hell

So it's been a a few weeks since my last post. I had a random reboot but removed the 24 pin and CPU sleeved cables and it's been fine since. Aside from Corsair ique refusing to sync all my devices. I was running a beta bios which I updated now they seem to be working. To much wonky shit going on. I don't know if I ever mentioned this. But when I bought Mobo it came with a coupon for sleeved cables which I bought which seems to be issue. Really Asus ? I have built a lot of computers. My first time going with Asus. I decided to sell rig and upgrade since it seems stable. Thanks everyone for those who gave input and suggestions I appreciate it.

i have the same exact mobo but with 5800x3d and 3600mhz 32gigs crucial ram 2*16 and did have the same problem to some degree my 1 and 2 ram slots stopped working suddenly nothing happened didn't even touch it so every time i insert a ram in any of them it is not detected at all tried everything changed the ram , cpu , gpu , psu cleaned the mobo a few time i have access to ultrasonic cleaner so i used it but nothing sent it to a professional and he couldn't find any damage couldn't explain why this happened now i use slots 3 and 4 gave up my duel channel but a least it's working fine for now

Thanks for reply. I've checked psu rails all seems fine. If I kill power totally from system for 5 or 10 minutes then power back on everything is fine. Also checked ram and changed slots makes no difference. Kinda lost at this point. It will work for a few weeks then randomly just shut off. Kill power and then works fine again. When I go on event viewer I'm finding errors when I Google em it's nothing related to my issue.

there is no need to keep checking all your hardware parts the problem is in the motherboard

So I figured it out finally. I have a Samsung 980 pro ssd. The issue was with old firmware. I updated nvme it's been 3 weeks and no issues. It was a known issue with the 980 and 990 series and older firmware. So if you have a 980 or 990 look into the firmware. Thanks for everyone's help.
