How's M32Q after few months of use?

Just saw a good deal for it on Amazon, snagged one. €322, pretty much as low as it was before prices jumped by a €100.

Nice price, I paid about the same. It's alright, no real issues. Text still acceptable but definitely getting a little coarse compared side by side to 27" 1440p. No 10-bit color (well, FRC) at 165Hz due to DP 1.2 port. Also the stand is absolute garbage, mine couldn't even get the monitor level and cut my hand. Apparently no way to get connected USB peripherals to turn off when computer is off. Don't really have a device to test out the Alt Mode USB-C and KVM.

At least no eye strain like the horrendous S2721DGF, I guess.

Wait, doesn't it have DP 1.4? At least according to GB specs it should.

Oh yeah, rtings also says 1.2. Wtf Gigabyte, get your specs right.

amazing cable management, I have that same mouse pad, kind of regret buying it, it was a bit overpriced imo.

what headphones are those? they look high end, lambskin earpads?

I like the Qck heavy, it's just a tad big and gets in the way sometimes (DCS)

Cans are just DT770s, I put some ZMF Ori pads on them long time ago because the original velours got all old and nasty

I do have to agree, your builds are always sexy :toast:

Please elaborate what exactly you like/dislike with this one. I'm in the market for a new 1440p monitor, every info is highly appreciated. The relatively good verdict from RTINGS bugs me.

I kept S2721DGF because I had a horrendous experience with the "superior" MAG274QRF-QD. There's probably tons of other newer options out there now

It's not all bad, the USB hub on it is excellent, accurate after calibration, stand is also excellent. Dell support/returns/warranty is also good.

The eyestrain thing depends on the user, but allegedly something to do with the way it displays reds (red also is very overbearing out of the box). For me it's glaringly obvious within the hour, when comparing it to my M32Q and GW2765HT.

Sometimes also has a very well-known no input detected bug, gotta unplug everything and let it sit for a while. Maybe fixed by firmware updates by now

I see it's a nano-IPS thing. I'll just pretend it never existed. Thanks.

A did that over a decade ago lapping CPU IHS until I'd see shiny copper... :D
Nothing sexier than copper on copper.
BTW people I'm sorry for the bad image quality. My phone cam is ruined.

upgraded to 32gb ram today though all 4 sticks are mismatched but it seems fine, i had those 2 sticks lying around for several months and it was about time i do it

i was just desperate to show my setup so opened up my case and took this shot with my phone, i also hope nobody mocks me here, also cleaned it somewhat after taking this shot

I see that you most likely have a Navi10. To get much out of those, you will need to MPT and RBE.

You may find that you need to raise the DRAM voltage, like when I had 8 GB of DDR2. If all those are ran at the most common timing specs, then it likely will remain stable.

generally i like to avoid anything to do with voltage these days because it killed my cpu on my previous pc, i am running all my stuff at stock and as long as it's fine i need not to worry. BTW, iirc 2gb was max capacity for ddr2 so that means you also had 4 sticks? anyway, compatibility was more of a issue then compared to now, even in ddr3 era stuff worked well

Yes, for my P45 motherboard, 2GBx4. I commonly came across socket 775 motherboards that have 4 slots.

Yep, I remember DDR3 working well with mixed sticks, for 10 GB, LOL. When I had the Asus P6T Deluxe. (socket 1366)

Seems that something happened when I changed the motherboard to the Asus P6T6 WS Revolution, despite supposing to be a better motherboard! (in 2019)
But I got a 12 GB Corsair Vengeance triple-channel kit in December, 2020. Then I was able to install and update Windows 7 SP1 without a "PAGE_FAULT_IN_NON_PAGED_AREA" BSOD.
For some cause, that BSOD code was the issue, since the motherboard change. I was facepalming! I transferred everything that I had already to the motherboard and the previous DDR3 config that I had and it resulted in Windows 7 crashing with the above stop code. It made me a while later, give it an isopropyl alcohol shower! After that and the new RAM kit, I have yet to see the BSOD with that code when using Windows 7.

i had a sandy bridge pc back in the day when it was new, after few years i upgraded to 8gb ram, i added a corsair 4gb stick alongside my original one from kingston

Running stock nowadays (newer hardware) mostly means running higher, totally overkill voltages.

After being reminded how nice a silent PC could be after installing the PNY, I thought I'd try replacing the two NF-A15's on the CPU cooler with what's in the rest of my case (Silent Wings 3's).

Having all the same fans now set to a static speed seems to be working just fine and also is almost impossible to hear. Probably also helps that they have the same sound signature.

It also gave me an excuse to give the inside a good cleaning, and re-paste with SYY-157.

First of all, beautiful build!
Second, what Phanteks case is that?

Thanks!

It’s the P600s with the solid panel option. Now that I’ve gotten the build cleaned up I almost wish I would have bought the glass panel version. :D
I have the same case for my main rig- really nice! Solid side panel also, didn't want a TG panel in my main rig

The P600s was the only case I found that was able to retire my Silverstone FT-01B ... which I used for nearly 12 years!

Upgrades, always upgrades. Adding 140mm fans to the front so I can use my MNPCTech fan grills. One 120mms they are too close together to fit :(.
Finally getting some carbon fiber in the build. So far just the one piece, put it fits and looks great.
