PNY GeForce RTX 4070 Ti OC

Deshrouding proved to be a bit more difficult, because i wanted to keep the card in "RMA" state.

Thankfully Noctua recently released these 5mm fan spacers, which allows me to get around the tabs that hold the fan cables.

I'll have some pictures next week of the finished deshroud, it's gonna be a triple fan Noctua monster :)

It's done the PNY X Noctua RTX 4070 Ti.

- Capped 60 FPS: ±39C @ 500 RPM
- Capped 120 FPS: ±52C @ 700 RPM
- Uncapped: ±63C @ 750 RPM

Pictures from inside the case will be taken at a later date, i'm still using the NVIDIA tentacle as CableMod won't ship new orders until late February.

@TheDeeGee, please share if you were sucessful with undervotling it?
Does indeed work, but doesn't really apply to me as i play at 60 FPS.

Stats were taken in Fortnite: Save the World (PvE Mode) at Epic settings. I tried 0.950v but then the game crashed.

Default 1.100v

Undervolt 0.975v

@TheDeeGee thank you, with 60FPS in FHD capped it is really a good question if undervolting is necessary at all. I wouldn't certainly bother with UV but I have moved PC to living room and paired with 4K 60/120Hz TV (some games are so nice to play with high quality textures in 4K). I wonder how things would change with 60FPS cap but 4K resolution :)
Would be undervolting still a question mark or already meaningul bonus...(?)

At higher resolutions it will make a difference i think.

It's a bit of a balancing act wether you want good noise levels or better performance. But there is certainly a happy middle way.

Did you notice if all your fans were running , my PNY XLR8 4070Ti center fan is not running !

Hey, can you tell me if all 3 fans are spinning in your PNY Geforce 4070? I got mine today and only 2/3 work.
Your right , the center one is not running on my card!

You sold me , and man I am happy ! thank you , Got my PNY 4070Ti at Micro Center for 799.99 .

I have it !

Using the supplied braced support under the GPU, the middle fan will touch the support , fan will stop spinning .

I got a little creative with mine so I used the support slightly different so it doesn't touch the fans. I have a Lian Li 216 case. It seems to work just fine, no sag on the card and all the fans work on my card.

I think 0.985v is the sweetspot for my GPU, cuz when i set it at 0.975v then HWiNFO64 actually shows the core going back up to 1.020v.

This drops the boost from 2805 MHz to 2775 MHz and the FPS seems to stay the same now from what i cen tell. Atleast from testing in Fortnite BR with Lumen at max settings.
Actually it doesn't seem to matter what voltage i set it to, it still likes to jump up every now and then. I guess that's either normal behaviour or Afterburner not working properly with the 4070 Ti yet.

It seems dropping the power limit works better for now, even though it drops the boost by up to 210 MHz. That's dropping the power limit down a to whooping 55%, which only drops the FPS by 5%.

Thanks, you're great, i mean, all TechPowerUp's team.

I have Seasonic Core-GM-650w for i7-9700F on z390 M-Plus, i hope it will fit within the 4000D Airflow (bc MB is mATX).

//

OKay, how is the 12VHPWR adapter ?

I need a sage bracket, the 4000D Airflow has no screw hole in the middle (it's a plastic safe placer instead), and also, with the z390 M Plus the PNY brackt cant be placed alon MB because ther is a thng, so thow problems on this 10 centimeters :

What good model to replace the PNY one, any advice ?

//

2023-1-15 means driver is updated since card's out ? : (image attached)

//

I'd like to disable RBG lightning.

Havn't recieved it yet, they won't ship until somewhere in March most likely.

I may actually cancel my order as they're going to make a 2x 8-Pin variant as well.

Allright, the one in card's box is pretty good, never had to force to plug it, i'll keep it.

BTW i asked PNY about the brace incompatibility (Case & MB, lol, no luck at all, me today), i payed a lot of money for the card, they have to send me an alternate horizontal one.

I guess your motherboard has obstructions?

I already had the Lian-Li GB-001, which is the exact same bracket.

Yes, like on the image i put on GDrive, a metal piece just between the two holes, BTW one hole has no screw possible since case has a integrated one :

No screw !

//

EDIT, wow, that's right, it's LianLi, i will sell it at a high price ;)

//

On my GN32600-B, disabling Freesync and enabling BFI (or nothing, will try) instead, looks to fix FPS fluctuation goind down from 120 to 60-80.

Now @120 stable (@ max ultra lunatic (ys9) settings).

After reaching PNY by mail and explaining about my brace issues, the answer has been short : NO, we don't have an alternative. LOL.

Im a bit confused how exactly did you mount those fans and why do you have screws there.

Can you give me more info about removing the shroud?

The screws are there because 2 of the 3 fans already had threads in them from another alternative attempt, so i figured i'd plug the holes.

As for mounting, i believe you recieved a PM.

Well I couldn't pass this up, exchange my PNY for a ZOTAC Amp Extreme Airo 4070Ti , it was a $120 off.

Someone can tell the difference between coolers used in two different models?
The cheaper models have sleeve bearing vs double ball bearing.

wait, so you bought a PNY 4070 Ti and later sold it to get a ZOTAC instead, to save 120$?

Hello!

Do you recommend using MSI Afterburner vs Geforce Experience?
Also do you find that you are cpu bottlenecked at 1440p at all with the 11700 cpu it says you have? Also I have seen the boost clock on these cards reaching 2610 to 2670 and yet I see most people having boost clocks quite a bit beyond that?
This PNY card is power limited and yet those boost clocks at 2800+ are still possible?

Yes, very easily. Mine is usually at over 2900. Do you mean the PNY OC utility? The latest beta of afterburner works fine for now but the PNY utility is ok. It does have a OC scan utility that will tell you what further OC your clock and memory. The card is power locked but I've not found it to be an issue, the card runs cool and quiet.

Dunno about bottleneck, i'm still on 1200p and i play at 60 FPS cap.

I will eventually move to 1440p once more OLED 27" monitors are out.

I have the non-OC version, what about Velocity X, is it good?.. ABurner looks to not update since MSI won't follow it anymore.

My non oc 70 ti verto epic which replaced my bent cooler pipes tuf gaming is indeed cooler. I cant get it past 70c in stress testing in a very stuffed case with bad ventilation. Tuf did 76c in same case. Does 28xx on stock settings and i was able to push 3ghz before spotting black marks. Settled at plus 200 core which gives 2950 and plus 700mhz memory and runs happily. With a mild underclock at 1v it doesnt touch 60c with little performance loss.
