Yes, nice CPU AMD and the 7800X3D will sell well as long as people are willing to fork out the $$$ for the platform costs. No difference than Intel platform costs.

This doesn't seem as idiot proof as Intel but in saying that I did have to update my ME driver for my 13900K to work properly on my original Z690 Strix I was running at the time.

The Power consumption for these new X3D's are the real winner here. Intel definitely got punished in this department.

This CPU is a very good all rounder!

I'm so tempted but but a bit sad in a way I've already completed my AMD spending for a few years and gonna ride the wave of productivity for awhile.

My excuse is that my daughter wants a new destkop, shes 11 and wants to game with her dad. While being true i have many other parts to make her a computer.

Just a really ignorant statement. Half of the engineering Intel invested in the 13900k was to deal with the heat I bet. That's the best they could do. If they could have done better you better believe they would have. Just dumb ....really.

Gamers Nexus has a few examples of it using the previous driver before it was "X3D ready"

Performance regressions put it anywhere between 7600x to 7900x in terms of performance but some outliers really put it down even with 5xxx series parts.

This is a pointless benchmark for most amateur and semi-pro users since Blender 3.x is free.

Cinema 4D R25 has USD $3495.00 single-user perpetual license or USD $719.00 billed annually. Cinebench R23 doesn't use AVX-512.

Would it be correct to assume that the 7800X3D will not require 'Game Mode' and the yucky Xbox Game Bar? That stuff is only required because of the CCD assignment, right?

Even from a layman's perspective, these are some impressive numbers. I'll keep my 7700X but kudos to AMD for this one. I'm looking forward to hearing about the chip from other TPU members in the Zen Garden! :)
 
Honestly unless you game at 1440p or less, or do emulation, the only real benefit is better power efficiency. For productivity unfortunately, it's a regression or tie at best when OC'd and undervolted. But it's a lot better than running a 7950X at 105W though it would seem. Maybe the real test should be 7900X3D vs 7900 and see how the performance vs power stacks up. Maybe do a test vs 7950X running at 105W to ram home the performance gap.

Still uses a crap ton less juice than the 13900K.

I bought 128gig of DDR5 in preparation for these dropping. Looks like an awesome cpu. I will wait to see the 7900/7800 reviews before i buy one but its almost time to retire my 5800X3D to one of my kids machines

Awesome CPU, they should have implemented something like intel had with the "legacy game mode" where you could disable the e-cores with scroll lock key.
I guess that wouldnt work the same way in this case though.
 
In the game tests the relative performance is not consistent with the average of average fps. The order of cpus even change.

Gigabyte seems to have much lower boot times than Asus, except my Asus Tuf ATX booted fast also unlike this higher end model used for testing. Interesting.

Yeah, the cost for the cooling solution is worth pointing out, even more so when comparing the 7800X3D an the 13900K, quite a difference.

Also, don't forget RAM price, as the 3D models seems to be less sensitive to RAM specs (besides not going very high in Hz lol). For games that is, so maybe not worthwhile for the 7950X3D.

Has anyone seen more RAM scaling tests besides this? (Only this one benchmark at 9:18) I haven't looked around that much yet.
