HD2600/2400 Series Overclocking and Feedback thread

well it seems that trick worked i have my core @ 925 right now..memory still stock,is it true when u clock the memory on these it actually loses performance?

ok clocking the memory kills my scores..im currently using catalyst 7.6 is there any performance increase by moving to 7.9's or 7.10's?

ok i tried going to 884 before i will true 925 and see what happens, and do i have to close control centre?

in ati CCC keep the clocks at defaults then close it then just use amd gpu tool to clock the card, once you've clocked it you can close amd gpu tool....

don't try using CCC overdrive and amd gpu tool at the same time..

can you run a 2600xt gddr4 card with a zalman without putting ramsinks on the memory?

prob
since the fan also blow on ram chips
btw, i have some custom ramsinks on it, with barely no air on them, and they barely get warm on load
edit: that's with my gddr3 ones, the gddr4 prob heats up even less

hey guys im posting these for athlonx2 since he cant post till nov 21st..he wanted to let you know he got past the 857 core bug..lol

2600xt.jpg

1ghz core
very nice
is it 3dmark stable?
ps: what did he do this time? :p

not 3dmark stable it makes it through proxycon and crashed in fireflies, something to do with wazzle not understanding the situation i guess?

Yea probaly...but dont you need to cool the VRM's??

they barely get hot naked
altought i'm going to make some custom ramsinks for them aswell

PT,you want to add athlon to the list of members? yes you have to cover the vrms, they get screaming hot if you dont,i modified the heatpipe system from a a8n32slidlx mobo to use it for cooling the vrm's

3d05 score: http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm05=3577258

the mod: http://img.techpowerup.org/071019/IMG_0294.jpg

mine doesn't
i touched them while running 3dmarks, they we're barely hot
ps: i know i'm crazy for touching them while the card is running

edit:
i need 3dmark stable clocks, brand, and ammount of memory :)

edit2:
can you take a picture from front?

all of those benchmark were ran @ 920/2200 HIS 2600XT GDDR4 256MB..ill pull the card out later on and throw up some pics

Welp PT! I've pretty much given up hope getting you benchmarks of this GDDR4 model running on a CPU close to the same speed as yours to show you that a C2D makes a big difference in score results. The reason is that AMD GPU Clock Tool is about the only thing that will remotely let me overclock but only does so with random issues. We all know about the suppossed BIOS bug but the whole issue for me is that AMD GPU Clock Tool will not even let me touch memory speeds, doing so results in a loss of display signal, even undeclocking the memory does this!!! I'm also experiencing random lockups and loss of display signal on virtualy any core clock setting. It usualy makes it past 880MHz core but sometimes I'll loose the display signal for no apparent reason soon after. This holds true for just about any setting above 880MHz! I did manage to get it to 940MHz once but I lost the signal soon after and I haven't bother to try since. It's definitely not a PSU/power issue because I have a decent/quality PSU!

Thats just my 2 cents... :ohwell:

i win :p
could be the card going bad, have you tried it in other systems?

update mine :) on #362

It's cooling down here, I'm going to try to push for some more later, have to break that 6k mark.

i cant seem to get past 857, and when i try i get the dreaded black screen!! im not sure if its amd overclock tool or the card, i might try riva tuner!!!

this is what i got stock anyway nothing that good
