Cheers to all,
These day i have a few offers of video card to buy. One is Asus Dual Fan Rtx 2080Ti,the other one is KFA2 2080TI and last one is Msi gtx 1080Ti Gaming X.Each 2080Ti cards is in price range of ~300$.Gtx 1080Ti i found in range price of 200$. I discuss with sellers and told me the truth , he used both rtx 2080ti in MINING for 2 months. :(
On the other hand 1080Ti card was used only for gaming. As far as i know, the Mining operation is bad for any gpu video card right?.The sellers told me he used both card 2080ti at mining in a Ventilated room with constant ambient temperature for 2 month, and never reach 65 degree, and he claims there are in perfect condition and i can test each card with Furmark stability test program, before i buy.

I want an advice from you all, because i don't know what to do.My dillema is: is better to buy a NEW and mined card like rtx 2080ti or old card like MSI 1080ti used only for gaming??What option is better?

1.https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/asus-dual-rtx-2080-ti.b6853 -used in mining for 2 months
2.https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/galax-rtx-2080-ti-general.b6126 -used in mining for 2 months
or
3.https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/msi-gtx-1080-ti-gaming-x.b4362 -used only for gaming

Some advice....?
thanks in advance,

Neither a RX 6800XT brand new in Box

Don't buy either of these, especially not the 1080 Ti - if it was $200 at most, then I'd say the 1080 Ti is worth it, but anything more? It's a 6 year old card, and accordingly has certain limitations. Avoid mined ewaste GPUs like the plague, instead, you could purchase a BNIB 6700 XT for $300. Should be better than the 1080 Ti, and not too far off from the 2080 Ti's performance level.

Though I agree, it's gonna be hard to find a BNIB 6800 XT for $300 :p Can find the 6700 XT for that much, though.

two months mining is next to nothing..

trog

I want to mention,i never heard about KFA Galax company at video card segment. They are ghost company? Is better choice Asus Dual Fan than KFA Galax?

Miners keep temperatures and voltages low to offset power draw and degradation.

100% the mined card.

i am so scared about mining terms itself, because many people say a mined card has no future :( .If i tested with Furmark that mined 2080Ti for stability test, is a good choice?i am scared to not encounter artefacts on the screen in the future :(

Do not buy anything old or mined with my Statement above still Stands

Then buy a brand new card.
I don't want a new card, and i am not so rich, and that 2080ti is a GREAT card for gaming in 4k, as far as i know, and the price is very tempting for me ....:D

Look elsewhere then good luck

A mining card that's been running at 60% TDP under steady state thermal load will be in better condition than a gaming card that's run overclocked at twice the power draw for the same amount of time.

so is better to risk for a mined rtx 2080Ti card.I understand.I will go for rtx 2080Ti because is newer than 1080ti,has ray tracing and dx 12_2.Wish me luck guys.On may 2, i will go to buy that rtx 2080Ti and i will test with Furmark .
thank you

Some people scared me i must avoid all 2080Ti with Micron gddr type of memory because have artefact and problems.Only with Hynix and Samsung memory type is good.Is true ?

2080 ti used for 2 months for mining... sure... more like 2 years.

An on the ground assessment of the GPU and feel for the seller is worth more than any hard statement on the internet. There are certain warning signs a bit of experience will allow spotting.

Beyond that you either buy or don't. If you cannot afford what you want. The better choice is almost always don't buy it.

Who do you know who games 24/7 for 2 months straight ? Most gaming gpus (that hasn't been abused by miners) wont see that much usage in their entire lifespan...

Yes, and the choice is a 2080 Ti or a 1080 Ti, which one of those is older?

Any gpu below 4xxx or 7xxx series have potentially mined in bad conditions whatever the seller is telling you. Dont buy one of these cards if they have not at least 6 months of warranty, and be sure that if required that warranty can be used (a lot of manufacturers require the original buyer to do it). If i were you i would wait to buy a 4060 instead

These cards are never worth what you pay for anyway. The thermal paste, pads and fans need to be replaced which costs $50-100 not including the labor. The reality is that most of them sellers overvalue their offering by alot and are truly delusional. I had people tell me it was like new and the fans were rattling covered in a layer of dark substance, like smokers lungs I guess. and the pads crumbled to dust upon disassembly. had to replace everything. Just get the 4070 and save yourself the worry of it blowing up at any moment. Pay attention for VRAM temperatures at least I guess. Furmark is not the best test, it just pushes the power and voltage limits, but that forces the card to operate at lower clocks.

No it’s better to never buy a mining card literal ever.
Economically, no. There is certainly an acceptable price point. Morally? I don't know, but that wasn't really the question.

As seeing people coming here for help here with ex-mining GPU's...
Ex-mining GPU's have mostly be messed/tampered with, resulting in all sorts of issues when trying to use for dekstop gaming....

Morally let them burn. They are all liars looking to bend over the gamers they screwed over with inventory they abused in an attempt to get the last few dollars out of there investment while there little micro economy dies.

Let em burn.
