Updated today. CPU-Z and Cinebench R23 both show small (uh, 1-2%?) performance boosts at slightly less power used. CPU-Z seems to report lower core voltages.
Before it was always stuck at 1.0-1.28. Now I see it drop to 0.5 sometimes.

Disclaimer: Both before and after BIOS update I had:
PBO - > Set to manual
100W
100mA
150mA

boost clock override: enabled -> positive -> 100mhz

All kinds of other unnecessities are also disabled. Such as TPM, PSP, NX, SS, etc.

Temps during Cinebench R23 never exceeded 86C.
Machine as in specs here, running latest Windows 11 Pro Education with disabled TM, defender and many other undesirables.

System stability was perfect with previous AGESA for me and remains perfect now.
 
Glad you've started a thread on these beta 1.0.0.7 band-aids.

Would be interesting to see how everyone is getting on and whether the patch has resolved earlier concerns with 7000s burning up. I've had people buy into AM5 in the last couple of months. Since these reports flared up, i've got them to disable PBO, disable EXPO and took a gentler approach to XMP (marginalyl dialed down manual adjustments). So far no problems on their side... also got them to update BIOS but we want to keep these precautionary settings in place until we have a more clearer picture of what exactly caused these issues to begin with. It would be nice if AMD could list out the issues in an official capacity to give all AM5'ers some added confidence going forward.
 
I'm going to have to re-test all the motherboards now..
If you, or anyone else re-test an AM5 motherboard with default BIOS settings, let me know! Since I've only tested BIOS with changes made.
 
Hmm interesting Asus doesn't specific Agesa 1.0.0.7 for my Prime X670-P WiFi on version 1414 Beta only:
SoC voltage for Ryzen 7000 series limited to a maximum of 1.30V to protect the CPU and motherboard.

So I guess Asus ain't that fast yet for my board.

Well, i am going to assume that it's safer using this, than the previous bios... and when the next version comes, i will just update to that aswell...

ASUS decided to go with a BETA release of AGESA 1.0.0.7 BIOS firmware. However, the actual AMD AGESA 1.0.0.7 BIOS firmware release may have to wait since the current version has various flaws & issues including buggy memory overclocking and compatibility.

AMD has confirmed with board partners about the existence of these issues and is now working on a newer 1.0.9.0 firmware (internal naming) which is expected to mitigate these issues but there's no guarantee that all of it will be fixed. It is advised that all board vendors who were planning to roll out BIOS based on the existing 1.0.7.0 firmware roll back to an older version for now.
According to leaker, chi11eddog, the current AGESA 1.0.0.7 BIOS firmware can only offer support for DDR5-4400 speeds compared to DDR5-6000 speeds on the AGESA 1.0.0.6 BIOS. This means that EXPO has been limited and the only way to enjoy faster memory speeds is to use the older AGESA firmware.

Motherboard vendors will be receiving the first 1.0.9.0 firmware (internal use) in the coming week and since they will take some time to test and finalize, we can expect the newest public AGESA BIOS to roll out by mid or even the end of May. It is not known if the new AGESA firmware will release as the standard 1.0.0.7 or 1.0.0.7a (Patch A). If the same bugs appear within the latest release, then you'll be waiting a bit more to grab the latest BIOS for your motherboards.

I'm not running expo till all of this is resolved anyways, so /care.

I'd much rather be safe with voltages for the time being. And honestly, ram makes very little difference for the 3d chips anyways.
