So I recently purchased a second hand RX 580, when it arrived the system booted like normal and I had no issues until I went to install the GPU drivers, Amd's software recognised the card just as a normal RX 580 but would always fail to install the drivers, after checking the device manager it shows as error code 43, I tried to look on the card itsel but it appears to be an unbranded card, I was looking to see if anyone here would be able to help, Thanks

I also attached some images to see if this information would help as at first I thought it could be an issue with the board but after inspection every thing seems okay? Hopefully all the serial numbers etc are clearly visible

1002 6FDF 1002 0B31, if there are 8 ram Chips on that card, it is 8 Gibibit chips which are 1 GibiByte each, x8= 8 GibiBytes.

You are making incredible effort here really!

Just a question here please until you reply on my OP ))

Where did you find ( 1002 6FDF 1002 0B31 ) in the photo !!? I believe it is the same number I have for Device ID! What does it refer for?

There's 20 posts like yours on the forum every single day, these remanufactured Polaris cards die like flies because they're 1. counterfeit and 2. were abused by Chinese cryptocurrency miners for years. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't, and flashing the BIOS will not necessarily fix it.

Follow through with that advice and see if you have some luck.

Its a 2048 sp card is why i know the bios sequence.

Some 570s are that way too.

2304 580s and some 570s are 1002 67DF **** ****

590s are 1002 6FDF **** ****

Official card from AMD exists, yes, it's an upmarked RX 570 for China. But the card you have is an unlicensed counterfeit, seen hundreds like those. It's recycled built out of a dead mining card - they extract the GPU chip, if it still works they solder it onto a new PCB and resell; alas the bootleg GPU you own. No way to know if it's in working order or has hidden defects.

Try flashing, can't promise it will fix, but do so anyway

I believe Bios sequencing goes like this

1002- AMD (Chip Maker)

6FDF- RX 580 2048SP/570 (Chip Model)

1002- AMD (Card Maker)

0B31- Specific Card Model

That definitely make sense!

It is what I have in my system info ( attached ) but since I have only Mac Pro so I cant download GPU-Z for more information. Also I cant flash the vbios. I really dont know what can I do!

That means there is an original RX 580 2048SP in market already?? and some other cards just made by collecting some parts of old graphic cards and made them work in a final product under unknown vendor like sanshuku or showkings or whatever?? if so, how can you know that if the card is original or fake ? and how can you know if the card has the original vbios or not? GPU-Z reads only the current vbios and the card name which you can see on GPU-Z is not the right now since it is already flashed!

portable copy of Windows? How can I do that!? also dont forget I am using open core already to run ventura on unsupported mac.

It's pretty obvious, you just look if it's manufactured by a known brand that holds an AMD AIB license. Sapphire, PowerColor/TUL Corporation, AsRock, Club3D, Biostar, MSI, ASUS, Gigabyte, XFX, HIS, Yeston, etc. - they will all be in much better quality, not have any stickers in plain Chinese, and definitely won't have that yellowing surrounding the GPU core - and definitely won't contain foreign objects like that sticker glued onto the die substrate.

You should keep in mind that this is an out of date graphics card series, they haven't been officially manufactured in a long time. New samples no longer exist. So if you catch anyone selling a "new" RX 580 or any of its variants, chances are that they are either lying or peddling counterfeit goods.

Is the brand 51Risc?

if true those are mining cards. I've seen plenty on Newegg.

what about 'boot camp assistant' ? well, other than that, can I do that without windows!? there is no any software like GPU-Z and AMDVBFLASH available at all!!?

good info! yes physically it will be clear which is which but I am talking about the software part! How do you know what vbios is installed? and what exactly same model do you have!? lets say I open GPU-Z and I read that the card is RX 590. How do I know it is really RX 590 not just any other card and just flashed by RX 590 vbios?

The RX 590 uses a physically different processor, its VBIOS is not compatible with the 470/570 or 570/580 (and their Chinese variants). The exception to that is the RX 590 GME (another Chinese variant) that uses a RX 580 core.

Bootleg cards don't have an officially supported VBIOS, you have to find one that works through trial and error. Most of the time they just use the reference design BIOS, so this is an answer I cannot give you as it doesn't have one.

Are you putting the card in another pcie slot and hooking the monitor up to the working card?

the PC I have has only one slot for GPU. When I install the RX 580 > the card fan runs good but no signal at all. When I install any other card to test the machine and monitor, everything works good, so smth wrong with the GPU but the strange is if I install the card on mac pro it works fine and boot up but vram reads as 10 MB! So the card works only on mac pro now and I borrowed a pc especially to flash the card on it since I can not do that on Mac , but unfortunately it does not show any signal at all on the monitor. How can I fix this issue now ((((

If your card has been flashed with a Mac-specific VBIOS, you're in no man's land. Being a bootleg GPU means you already have next to no recourse or any guarantee at all that your hardware has been tested or validated to work correctly as it is, but a bootleg with a Mac VBIOS mod you are way out of the curve here.

You'll need to flash a PC-compatible VBIOS using a hardware spi flasher before doing trying to do anything else IMO.

I literally just did mate. If you can't get it to show anything on a PC, your only recourse is a hardware spi flasher. That would also be assuming that your bootleg GPU is flashable, I can't say for sure that it is, some counterfeit cards have a single-use programmable ROM chip.

You are going to need a machine that has 2 pcie slots so you can put a working card in slot 1 and the dead card in slot 2, or a cpu with igp, such as AMD APU or intel cpu. Otherwise a spi flasher
