What are you playing?

I'm also finally free from the weekly grind of FH5. Assholes decided to add a 4-car pack to the game that you must buy separately no matter what edition of the game you have.

Got my first Backstage Pass tonight in FH4. I commiserate with your sentiments since I already at a fairly early stage own half a dozen(?) vehicles in there. Chances are I wouldn't be half as far without them. As the crux Spring series, racing overpowered RWD cars with street tires in mud amply displayed.

Sight seeing with Cal the Jedi survivor.

It plays wonderful at around 80-100 fps.
How is the game? Does it live up to the legacy of Fallen Order?

I never played Fallen Order, so I can only judge Survivor. So far it plays smooth with great visuals and audio, not a lot of music though but I kinda like that. The overall atmosphere is great.
Considering I got the game for free (linked to the new cpu) it's great value.

Things that are a bit weird;
- mouse and keyboard are odd, also in menus (but the game does say it prefers a controller)
- combo keys suck, like press 1 and 2 together, luckily I can make macros on my mouse
- aborting a certain animation isn't possible (like encountering an enemy while petting an animal)
- most 'loot' is cosmetic
- buying stuff from the store (in-game not pay-2-win) is cosmetic aka totally not worth the trouble for me

P1m1bTl.jpg

oh hey, I didn't see you there

This is the first open world-ish Star Wars game I played but it feels a lot like an Assassin's Creed game.
Not bad. I do wish the loot you find would be more useful, and some of those key combos :shadedshu:
Considering I played for 6 hours yesterday, yeah I like it. 8.5/10

Kind of like Fallen Order, then, just with more difficult combos (which I'm also not very keen on). FO is a good game, the first Star Wars game that I thoroughly enjoyed in years. I recommend checking it out. :)

I have to say, I'm hugely tempted to get a 7800X3D, and now that I could get Jedi: Survivor with it, I'm even more tempted. :D

It wasn't always like that. It was a really fun game in its early days before they introduced the million and one currencies and tokens, holiday specials and lootboxes that nobody asked for. When it was all about strategy and teamwork, and the player base was a lot smaller and friendlier.
nah. it always has been like this.
they just refined it a bit from blatant "use gold for killing shot or it wont die" to "buy new premium tank with shit standard ammo and +800 gold pen"
remember this https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/...paper-foretells-a-dystopian-nightmare.240655/ presentation?
i've read it before TPU stuff cover games and studios names. wargaming (not wot) is under on of the black boxes. which means they've implemented it not only to tanks but to warships and plains as well.
as for the player base somewhere at that time (2018) player base started to dwindle from about 300k on EU server in prime time to barely hitting 80-90k on weekend prime time with grinding event now.
atm the game is played mostly by toxic wallet warriors or "this one will be cool to grind" old farts like me and probably you.
check this video and pay attention to the movement of the enemy team.
attached is one of my games from yesterday. pay attention to type 4.
noticed something similar?
when you are camping in TD keep an eye to your team mates. you'll a lot like the above.

So basically, if you haven't played in a while, the game will try to ease you back in by using bots. I see nothing wrong with that, considering that I've gone through long pauses, and trying to get back into it was hell every single time. If I had the choice to play with only bots in completely offline mode, I probably would, and it would probably be a lot more enjoyable than playing the game normally. I don't like playing against kids who eff and jiff every time I make a wrong move. That's why I don't play any other online game anyways. I'm just too slow and "take it easy" for this stuff.

Yep, this is why I've stopped playing.

But back to the original topic: how is Warthunder? :)

What's this? Is it better than World of Tanks?
If it is, I'm in. I have no idea what it is tho.

war thunder..... playing with realistic battles mode.....

more realistic battle tanks because 1 hit 1 kill, in some area, its better than world of tanks....

I used to play WoT because of its realism, but if Warthunder has more of it, I might give it a try. :)

problem are not the bots but out right lies that "there are no bots in higher tiers".
sure if it was pve vs bots it wouldnt be problem but when there are missions for progressing battle pass that require you to win a game but you cant cause 5-10 games in the row 30% of players are "there are no bots in high tiers" and/or 3rd party bots (another problem with wg ignores from quite long time) surely doesnt add to pleasant gaming exp.

never tried it myself. but in comments below news piece for AI i've linked there are several regarding the sate of the WT (pretty much same as wot but a bit different approach for give us money)
i've friends playing it with airplanes cause it provides acceptable flight sim w/o need of hefty investment in HW.

edit:
I used to play WoT because of its realism, but if Warthunder has more of it, I might give it a try. :)
wt is more realistic than wot. especially after "realistic physics" update of wot

I used to love WoT, but the pay to win crap kept getting worse and worse.
By the time they added bots, nerfed HE and introduced subscriptions I was long gone.

Just picked up Brotato for $4 and it's pretty addicting.
Been doing runs here and there, still working on GoW 2018.

^ How is it? Looks sort of like a mix of Fear and Black from what I saw.
Still wrapping my head around the fact this is from Team 17 (Worms).

BattleBitRemastered!

Pretty much still only playing D4 and Nikke tho lately I don't have that much time to play or just don't feel like to for some reason. 'idk maybe a bit burned out '

Just checked my Gamepass whats new and they added NFS Unbound which I've wanted to try out anyway + its been way too long since I've played a racing game. 'I prefer arcade just for fun racing games if I do play them'
So I guess I will give that a try maybe that will help with the gaming mood and if it doesn't then I'm gonna try High on Life since its also on gamepass.

For me it was two things:
1. The player base which went from people wanting to play a slow and tactical game (like myself) to angry teenagers who eff and jiff every time you make a wrong move, and
2. Celebration events, tokens, lootboxes, etc. I have no idea what coin buys what anymore. I loved the game because of its simplicity, but it feels the exact opposite these days. It's a convoluted mess where you spend more time in the menu trying to sort out your hundreds of popup messages about this coin and that blueprint, opening lootboxes that the game bombards you with and whatnot than actually playing the game.

It's a shame really, because the game itself is actually good. If there was a strictly offline mode with no lootbox crap, I'd jump on it.

Wrapped up the GDI campaign in C&C Remastered, onto CNCNet.org's version of Tiberian Sun, about 5 missions in, have C&C3 and KW ready for the next. Gonna do the NOD missions too. I love C&C.

Also got Starcraft and Starcraft 2 installed, picked up the remaining SC2 campaign and Diablo 3 stuff during the Blizzard sale. I'll pick up D4 later on, I never really gave D3 a shot, figured what the heck. Its supposed to be an action-packed yet more casual variant of Diablo, which works well for my gaming needs atm. Just getting started into SC Remastered's campaign. Haven't started D3 yet.

I am really enjoying these old and remastered RTS titles from my "golden era" of gaming.

And since Cosmoteer picked up a big update recently, I started a new campaign there too since I haven't played that in ages. I remember years and years ago, my boys and I playing the free version. When I realized it was on Steam and the devs were making even more progress for $, I backed it. I bet we have hundreds of hours designing ships, having epic battles, etc. Too much fun.

Lastly, debating what I'll go for on my next space sim. Reinstalled Star Citizen, and there's been a lot of changes since I last played, and its stunning...but too buggy for me atm. So I reinstalled Freespace 2 and Freespace Open, also reinstalled X-Wing Alliance + XWU mod and have Tie Fighter Full Conversion mod ready to install too. Tie Fighter was my jam back in the 90's. I played, loved, and beat X-Wing of course... but Tie Fighter for me was on a different level and I was addicted. Decisions...decisions.

Doesn't help that I tossed 4TB NVME drive for games in my gaming laptop recently, so now instead of being picky what I install..I'm installing everything that's shiny to me lol.

:toast:

The meta of the game changed too. WG took the ball and ran hard, it's all about DPS and speed now.
Like you said, it went from being a tactical game to nothing but blitzkrieg.

100% agree on the nonsense in garage and player base, though that could improve if they made changes.
It also stopped being fun for me after tier 6 thanks to the match making + sheer cost if you play for free (tier 9 battles in a 7 tank you're grinding = SUPER fun).

I tried WoT the other day. My overwhelming impression was that tanks are indestructible, except yours which suffers from mechanical failure instead of waiting to be hit.

That was probably the last straw for online gaming for me. I don't pay for games or in-game content, so I can get the full experience through EGS without dealing with other people and balancing mechanics.

Started VA-11 HALL-A on my Vita, as a way to spend lunch break at work.
Quite hilariously, it made me aware there's parental control options on the PSV I had to change so I could open it

Yeah, that's true, too. The last time I played, I had some Tier 8 tasks that I wanted to develop and get the Tier 9 upgrade, but the game kept dropping me into Tier 10 battles, in which you can't do better than being the meat shield, getting shot into pieces while your higher Tier teammates take an aim. Super annoying.

Broforce. It's a blast. Literally.

Sooo many references...

@Double-Click i think you get a lot for the money. It does give you Fear vibes.

Getting in some Terraria again. Master mode. Celebration seed

need more people. Usually just me and 1 buddy. I always wondered how it be with 4+ players working together?

Right now, using the little time I've got to play on Tears of the kingdom, and loving it.
