What phone you use as your daily driver? And, a discussion of them.

I am down to 82% on mine, still original battery from 2018. I was looking at new iphones, and man am I poor. My phone bill is already over 200 a month, I have 3 lines. Boooo.

Do I want a new battery? Yes, but no lol. I want a new phone :D

So does she :(

Dammit. I can only drag my ass for so long before she says something. I think her battery is in the 70s. Its a total turd.
Move here in Flnland, we have cheap plans :D

Summers are just as hot, and winters are just as cold, we are practically neighbors! :D

Maybe.. things are getting kinda funny around here.. too much politics..

Honestly, here you can have unlimited data and 3k min/txt for about 30EUR/month

Great deal here now 100GB of data and unlimited talk and text nationwide for 90 a month, plus a phone payment would bring me to about 150. Yuck.

Not gonna lie, but here you can get the cheapest prepaid and use it as much as you want.

I still have some records on my phone before I got a 4G router, I used my phone as a hotspot and it transferred like 3TB/month when I used that to download some Steam games

edit: here an unlimited data usage is just a norm.

too much $$ on pc parts lol.............better than a phone I guess lol

I currently have two (Iphone 14 pro and Galaxy S23 Ultra)

My S23 ultra has a mint mobile prepaid plan on it.

I can honestly say the S23U is a better device, but im sort of stuck on the iphone, i have the apple credit card thats tied to it, family and friends are on facetime and imessage, etc, etc.
When i pick one up to check social media, etc, i almost always go for the S23.

Hi @Shou Miko

Mine has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 3.00 GHZ (checked using CPU-z)

Re the battery, I've never had any issues with it or found it to be power hungry.

Okay where I live I can only buy the Exynos version locally and I seen a lot of reviewers saying they had issues having a full day on the S22 and screen time about 5-7 hours this is what I am afraid off because I use at the moment is shy of 6hours on average sometimes a lot more and my iPhone 12 Pro Max after the iOS update 16.5.1 has gotten me really good battery life again.

My thoughts are in the spoiler.
I am thinking about going android again because I am tried of the iPhone's high price tag and lack of being behind USB-C and EU's new law that's comming on easier battery replacements.

The current iPhone 14 Pro Max 128GB is like £1.118 / 1.423USD and the next 15 will properly be more even with a phone contract I am tired of buying this much for a phone.

The S22 128GB is like £461 / 587USD the 256GB model is like £496 / 631USD this is without carrier contract and an attractive price I was looking the S22+ because of the 6.5inches but not at the price tag of £795 / 1.012USD for the 128GB and 256GB model but it's more than I really want to pay.

Lost I like Samsung's 4 years version update that should be on Android 16 (If battery holds up) and 5 years security which is top I know it's not the same as the iPhone but at half the price what is there to complain about?

Probably. Though haven't heard rumors that iOS17 wouldn't be supported.. I hope for the best.
Well according to apple, the 8 is obsolete now

It wont be getting 17.

Well what do you expect with 2GB ram? It's harder to optimize everything to run the same and the world have moved on.

I am just tired of iPhones costing £1000+ so considering android next time also getting usb-c and such.

Still using the same iPhone 8 Plus. Thinking of swapping to a SE 3rd gen or a 12. Though it's still not neccessary for an upgrade yet.

Apple discontinued iOS on the iPhone 8 and X, so might be a good time to start looking for a replacement. Things will still work for a while, but without iOS 17 expect the phone to age quite rapidly.

The best Android phones from Samsung cost that much too, after all. It's more of Apple not offering a midrange option than Android phones being cheaper. And the latter are maintained as poorly as possible by the manufacturers.

So I may consider a SE 2022 or 12 then.

The 3rd gen SE has the same chipset of the iPhone 13 iirc (A15 Bionic), it's worth getting. That SoC is stupid overkill for that phone, since it's like, an iPhone 8 otherwise

Yep, and that's a bonus for me, I love touchID and I'd do anything to stick with it :D sucks just that Apple hasn't done a SE Plus. Need to get a new cover, dammit

A lot of reviewers calls the SE models the bargain iPhone because of the long software support you get with the Se models.

8 Plus has 3GB
Still optimizing for 2 or 3GB ain't gonna do it, it's like Nvidia and their vram

Because having iOS running smooth is one thing but also delivering the same experience ain't easy either but it's easier for Apple since they control the hardware and software side of their phones not like Android.

Not gonna start an iOS vs Android war here, but it's just funny that high-end Android phones have about as much RAM as a typical gaming PC.

That's what I like about Apple, not that many devices so it's easier to optimize everything.

optimize everything
It's easy bc It's only like 5 phones in total where 1,000 for Android plus many manufacturer's where as just one. Heck many on Android won't even update their phones

Hey theFOoL, sorry for replying off topic, but i came across your post about your galaxy a53 sim tray being stuck. I have the same issue with the same phone, and i wanted to know how you got your sim tray out. Thanks!

Pixel 7 Pro, been really happy with it since I swapped earlier this year.

Yep, that's exactly what I meant :)

13eur month no limits in data/calls/sms + if traveling some 26Gb roaming data per month

400-500m dl and upload 50-100 often

0 reasons to use prepaids and pay 30eur :mobguy:

How much minimum storage do we need on a phone since android 13.
