My 3060 TI won't let me login into Windows anymore as it gives me "WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR" BSOD-error - Is it game over for the GPU, or?

So, I've been struggling with this BSOD-issue for a while now, and until i got a backup gpu y'day, i just had to use my gpu (in my system specs). Once i swapped out the gpu with a 970 gpu, it now works great.

What happens is that when i restart my pc, it boots normally until it reaches the login screen, stays there for a few seconds before it goes BSOD for 0.3 secs and it restarts the PC again... Sometimes, it lets me type in my login details, but when it starts loading up windows, it goes BSOD mode...

This is the error it gives me:

Does it mean that the gpu is completely "gone" now or is there something i can do to get it working again?

(I've actually had the gpu for 1 year as of last friday...)

You could try your onboard on the 12700k.

Not really sure i am following you now, but i do have a backup gpu that i am currently using which doesn't give me any BSOD error. Why should i use the onboard graphics? Just wondering, because i don't know... :)

because it isolates the problem…

also sounds like an overclocking problem…!

if OBG works, you know it is not your cpu…

and if OBG works you can use safe mode, then use DDC to remove ever last bit of GPU drivers… and start fresh.
also set everything to stock. No xmp settings… (including BIOS setting, set them to default… )

There is a chance it could be some weird issue with corrupted driver files I suppose, try booting from a drive that has a clean installation of windows or at least hasn't been used with this GPU, if you still get the same thing then yeah it's probably gone.

No worries. I got the 970 for free anyways, so it's all good. That is still better than using the OBG, yes? :)

I wish it'd be one of those things, yeah... Would be easier to replace. ;) But, i did change the gpu to 970 for now, and the BSOD-error is gone. It boots normally and works like it should. For now.

Sheesh. That's a tad bit weak from the 3060 Ti if that's the case then... but i guess it can happen with any gpu... I will try doing so, yes.

However, according to buyer's rights here in Norway, there's a 5-year warranty on gpu's, and since i've only had the gpu for 1 year, does this sort of "error" go under the warranty, maybe?

yes, return it. or exchange it.

I mean if there is nothing wrong with it they'll probably just send it back. Honestly if it still has warranty I'd use it, it probably is dead.

Dose it work fine on another PC ? because if they test it, and it;s good, and they send it back to you you still have the problem.

Also, are you on your latest BIOS for the motherboard, some of them had some issues with the RTX 3xxx series. Like :
Address blank display while system powers up with RTX3060 series graphics cards

Try entering "Safe Mode" - see if that works.

It took a while to locate a USB drive that worked... but i believe i did it correctly, i hope?

Sadly, it didn't help to update the bios... what would be the next step for me to do..?
