HI. I bought a Sound Blaster Z SE soundbar, but there is sound in the headphones only when the speaker mode is selected in the settings program. when I change to headphones, there is 0 sound. I uninstalled the soundbar drivers and installed completely new ones, but it didn't help. I also tried different connectors, turned off the built-in sound card in BIOS, but it doesn't change the situation. can you give me any help?

You have your cables on the back of the card plugged in wrong. I have the same sound card, if you have no sound when plugged in the headphone and set to headphones, then you could have a bad contact in the sound card.

Have you tried going into windows control panel and setting default audio device?

You have to set it here, not in windows.

On the back of the card plugged in headphones jack, if still no sound, you may have a bad contact or card.

Then there is something wrong with the connection, your card works, you have sound in speaker. Either the jack has a bad contact inside, or your card has a problem.

If the jack output is okay, you may have a blown up headphones amplifier on the card.

Your playback device must be set to speakers, the output to headphones, you should have the same screen as it showed.

I also had a problem with my motherboard, its built-in sound card never saw the headphones, so I used a USB sound card in front of the sound blaster. could there theoretically be a problem with the motherboard (more precisely, could it affect the sound blaster?), or with Windows?

No because clearly your sound-card works okay in speaker mode. Bad connection or blown-up amplifier output is the only thing left.

Again make sure your playback device is set to speakers, output to headphones.

I remembered that the microphone doesn't work either. just like on the usb sound card. I checked it on my phone, and all working.

other people had a problem similar to mine, but their solutions did not help in my case.
yep, devise installed like default, and output - headphones

Good chance your headphones amplifier is blown up, by short circuit or something else. Microphones connected to headphones jack on accident can sometimes blow up the amplifier. Some microphones have four connections and are shorting the amplifier.

This card has two amplifiers, ones for headphones and one for speakers.

So if it works in speaker mode with no errors in windows, your soundcard itself works okay. The only thing left is a bad output jack or one amplifier is broken.

I have a cable like this, one jack. Does it change anything?

Then i need to change my headphones and check card again? Or check card output jack?

It should look like this in windows settings.

If your headphones work on another device then your card is bad, you can use the speaker output then if you want, but the sound will be distorted.
And yes check that the output connections in the headphones jack are okay, you have to check this with an electronic multi meter.
Sometimes a little contact cleaner like WD40 can help.

Do not spray directly into the contact, but put the product on a cotton swab and rub it on the jack connections.

Did you try other headphones already? You never know, you have to test everything. Headphones work if connected to another music device?

If all yes, then either a bad output jack, a broken soldering has bad contact on the soundcard is also possible. If that is also okay, then your soundcard has to be replaced.

tomorrow I will go to the service, give it for diagnostics, because I do not have a multimeter. if the thread is not deleted (I do not know how this forum works), I will let you know the results

I have only one

Headphones work if connected to another music device?
Yes, they are absolutely working. headphones and their microphone. tested on my phone

Remember you have connected your headphones to the right output, check this on the picture;

wrong connection...:( Look to my picture, headphones jack... That's why you have no sound on setting headphone, you use the wrong output.

Better it works good!:)

Microphone jack on the good jack connected?;) Is your microphone switched on? On many headphones you can switch it off, check your manual.
Then do the settings in Sound Blaster Command.
