How is the 4090 Gaming OC doing? Have mine and it's perfect. (No coil whine or issues.)
It´s doing fine. Mine has a little coil whine under hig load. BUt i have taken care of that by undervolting it to 0,900 volts and gpu clock locket to 2600 mhz. saves 100 to 150 watt as a bonus in power consumption, while not losing much performance.

To hornestly. I would rather have the RTX 4090 i had before. That was Asus RTX 4090 TUF. It was better in all aspect. But it suffered from crazy amount of coil whine, so got the gigabyte in stead.

Man this has got to be the nicest 60 series card I've ever seen...... cough. cough. 70 series I mean.....

Picked this up for my brother at the last minute asked him if he wanted me to get him a 7800XT instead and he asked how does it do in CP2077 with RT and does it have DLSS lol told him nevermind you are better off with this.

The only option for the 7800XT was a Merc card for $540 so the price wasn't that different.

for 60 bucks more i would have chosen 4070 as well, DLSS3 and frame gen is pretty cool stuff from what i understand, though i have yet to experience it myself.

i had a chance to get a 4090 for 1100 from a friend locally, but i declined, in retrospect i prob should have done it. cause yolo. still thats a big chunk of change compared to the 605 i paid for my 7900 xt.

I showed him benchmarks for COD and Starfield but he was pretty turned off when I told him it didn't have DLSS. I originally wasn't going to give him a choice but they had a 7800XT there when I picked it up, a return apparently.

Yep, Leather Jacket Brainwashing at its finest.

Honestly I was just trying to save 60 bucks although I didn't tell him which card was more expensive. He game's at 1080p probably why his view of FSR is so bad.

He doesn't even know his cpu is amd when I built it I didn't tell him.

I just told my Dad earlier tonight I wanted to go to Costco this weekend to look at the desktop chair section, I have browsed Microcenter chairs recently, but they are too expensive. Been looking for a few weeks now, but haven't been to my local Costco yet, I think I might get lucky there, plus they usually have models sitting out to try before buy.

Most likely will get something under $200 as long as it has good lumbar support feeling and is comfortable. I really prefer padded arm rests though. Tried one from Amazon I think, might have been walmart, but gave it to my parents after using it a few days. Moving forward 100% doing try before buy.

Bethesda patched DLSS into Starfield earlier this week

Have you tried Ikea's Markus chair?

Vertical mouse? What's that for? I'm intrigued!
It really helped me reduce the stress on my wrist. I had an Anker vertical mouse before but the wheel broke so I bought this cheap Chinese brand that imitates the design. It works just as well as the Logitech MX vertical which is far too expensive for me to afford. It works pretty well while gaming too, sorta of like controlling a joystick. Though I'm still using my precise ROG Strix Impact for competitive online gaming. :)

Ordered a Powercolor Hellhound 7800XT. Comes with premium Starfield. That's a hot deal boys and girls. It saves me paying $10 a month for game pass to play it. Which is how I am playing until I get me code. I'll undervolt and overclock FTMFW. W1z and Dom from Kit Guru both gave this model excellent reviews.

Wow, I would have never imagined! :) I'll look into this as it's something completely new to me.

Congrats! I'm sure you'll love it as much as I love my Sapphire Pulse. :)

Just a word of caution: I've only just managed to get my code for Starfield, 8 days and 2 emails after I placed the order, so make sure your store is on AMD's partner list for the promotion, and make them aware! ;)

Have to say I am myself tempted to get a Hellhound, but the 7800XT is still nowhere to be seen here and the 7900XT(X) are way overpriced.
And every single time the temptation hits, I have to remind myself there still ain't absolutely anything my 3070 can't tackle.

I was on the same opinion with my 6750 XT, but since a 70-quid game that I'm curious about is thrown into the picture, I thought, eh, YOLO. :D :ohwell:

Edit: There was plenty of 7800 XT stock here in the UK, but every store sold out in about 2-3 days after launch.

$5 says that you will find an office chair more comfortable for long periods than a gaming chair.

In Brazilian talk, that'd mean a 300 bucks game deal for a 4 grand (7800XT), 6-7 grand (7900XT) or 7-9 grand (7900XTX) card. Divide by 5 to get approximate values in USD (or by 6 for GBP), and you'll know how messed up our market is (and do consider minimum wage here is ~BRL 1300). And that's not counting that every 7800XT available is still in pre-order.

every 7800XT available is still in pre-order.
This is about the only similarity I see with the UK based on what you said. :( They were available in abundance at launch, but they sold out in about two days.

Edit: I was working on launch day, and I couldn't read the TPU review until the following morning. After that, I placed the order - my card was one of the last at Ebuyer, Scan (the largest UK store) was already out (they had plenty of stock on launch day, I just didn't want to order before reading the review).

Now that you mention, I actually don't know the real availability here. If I take the three e-tailers considered the biggest here (Kabum, Pichau and Terabyte), K had the lowest prices on every model and is now sold out (on pre-orders that sounds weird), P does list them as pre-order shipping out on october 23, and T lists as pre-orders shipping out on september 30. K and P both with XFX and Asrock, T with Asrock only. Hence I mentioned the unavailability of Powercolor, even though they're readily available for any other 7000-series Radeon locally (6000-series above the 6750XT from all makes have largely been unobtainium since 2020-21).

Thanks man. I ordered from Amazon U.S. so I should be golden. Just got an email saying my ETA on shipping is this month now instead of October. I will hit C.S. if I don't get the code when the card ships. Never had a problem with Amazon before, so I am confident it'll work out.

Same here. The only one card (literally) I see available is an ex-display Sapphire Pulse at Ebuyer that costs £30 more than the non-ex-display one. :(

That's cool. :) Did you see any reference to the game code bundle in the listing? I read it somewhere that Amazon tends to make multiple listings with and without the game code.

On 7800XT stock in the U.S.: The XFX came in stock at Newegg last nigh. I added it to cart because if you don't complete the order it will start telling you how many other people have it in their carts. It got up to a couple of hundred. Then it went OOS again.

I think that comes down to them listing 3rd party sellers in addition to shipped/sold by Amazon. You gotta be careful with that lol
