As the title suggests, I'm wondering if the Hyper 212 EVO will be sufficient cooling for an AM4 3700X processor set to stock speeds?

I have the 212 EVO is the main reason for asking.

I don't want to have to purchase another cooler if the 212 EVO will be sufficient for the processor.

It does include 2 fans in a push/pull configuration, so that will help.

Thanks for input.

Ryzen 3700X has a TDP rating of 65 Watt. Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO is rated at 130 Watt so it should be safe.
well it can go beyond 65w ofc, as with any modern cpu. Tdp rating is given as average, not maximum
Still that 212 evo sould be plenty, i have my r9 3900 with a tiny 90mm tower cooler (some oem delta) and it can do 80-85C when fully stressed in cinebench for hours.

Thanks to both of you for answering.

I kind of thought it would be okay, but wanted others opinions on it. :peace:

Well, got the 3700X and Hyper 212 installed. The Hyper 212 was actually the LED version, not the EVO version.

None the less, with the push/pull fan configuration it seems to be doing just fine.

At idle it runs about 34C and at a "fair" load it seems to hover around 55 to 60C, so not bad.

Running with Arctic MX4 as the paste.

The 212 gets lots of grief on this forum, but it's just fine for all but the extreme overclockers. (assuming you stay within the power limits of the cooler).

I agree.

I've used many Hyper 212's for several years and had great luck with them at a budget price point.
