= this thread.

I decided to test my hardware in the Cyberpunk 2077 game in various resolutions and FSR* levels.

*FSR is here substituted with the DLSS spoofing modded version of FSR2.2 which solves the fast moving objects excessive ghosting issue, yet has some minor glitch/flicker issues. Ghosting pisses me off way harder so I decided on it being this way and not vanilla. Can't tell the difference in performance between quote-unquote normal FSR and modded FSR/DLSS which is huge.

System specs:
8-core 16-thread Rocket Lake @ 3500 MHz fixed clock (definitely a bottleneck even in higher resolutions).
8+8 GB DDR4-3200 16-20-20-38 CR2 (possibly a bottleneck in lower resolutions).
RX 6700 XT @ OC/UV [2715—2815 MHz core; 2140 MHz VRAM; default timings, default power limit, 1150 mV] (definitely a bottleneck in higher resolutions).
ReBAR: enabled.
31.5" 1080p display (definitely a bottleneck in higher resolutions).

The game is installed on a SATA SSD.
Game version: 1.63 (GOG)
Crowd density: medium.
HDD mode: enabled.
Additional mod info:
• UHD texture pack (about 650 to 750 MB VRAM additional usage);
• Traffic speed and density increase;
• Some QoL mods which shouldn't affect performance.

⛔✅4K High native render: 32 AVG (100%) 25 MIN (100%); image quality is excellent, yet image stability is a lackluster probably because of low performance.

⚠️❤️4K High FSR Quality: 53 AVG (166%) 44 MIN (176%); better than native.

✔️❤️4K High FSR Balanced: 63 AVG (197%) 51 MIN (204%); better than native in general but had two minor glitches on edges of contacting surfaces.

✔️✅4K High FSR Performance: 76 AVG (237%) 47 MIN (188%); insignificant image quality nerf + said glitches

⚡❔4K High FSR Ultra Performance: 101 AVG (315%) 40 MIN (160%); noticeable image quality worsening + said glitches

✔️❤️1440p High native render: 69 AVG (215%), 48 MIN (192%); not sure if differs from 4K

⚡✅1440p High FSR Quality: 103 AVG (320%) 43 MIN (172%); image quality didn't worsen compared to native 1440p.

⚡❔1440p High FSR Balanced: 114 AVG (356%) 56 MIN (280%); noticeable changes to IQ, minor surface contact glitches + major crispiness of some textures.

⚡✅1080p High native render: 105 AVG (328%) 50 MIN (200%); good IQ overall, yet texture quality decreased due to their higher resolution than 1080p can fit in.

⚡⁉️1080p High FSR On: makes no sense, CPU speed is insufficient to sensibly benefit from this as GPU is already chilling at 1080p which is proved by stupid low results in minimum FPS counts. Also 1080p is the resolution where FSR or DLSS usage is ill-advised due to low pixel count.

⚡️= very high performance level (above 85 FPS)
✔️= good performance level (60 to 85 FPS)
⚠️ = sensible performance level, yet suboptimal (40 to 60 FPS)
⛔️ = unplayable performance level (below 40 FPS)

❤️= excellent image quality
✅ = high image quality
❔ = reasonable image quality
⁉️ = bad image quality

RX 6700 XT is a little bit faster than:
• 2080 Super
• 3060 Ti*
and is a little bit slower than:
• 2080 Ti
• 3070
• 3070 Ti
• 4060 Ti

*would be untrue at stock 6700 XT settings.

Testing ray tracing has been put out of the equasion because AMD + RT = no performance. Who wants 20 FPS at 1080p? You? I doubt.

Please check in at your therapist if you read the whole passage. xD

I got the game to run fine on high settings 1080p with a 4790k/5500XT. FSR does wonders and the game doesn't need that high of hardware to run fine.

Of course it's playable on old tech with FSR and some shadows quality decrease. I'm not telling any story other than my personal impressions and observations. This thread is not supposed to prove anything.

Glad you got your piece of pie as well.

Even with FSR off, it's fairly playable. Older than 5xxx still has enough muscle as long as it has the vram for it. A GRX690 I've found certainly does not have enough vram.

Just observations. This is an open forum either way.

What the hell is THIS?

Just your imagination because people said the game is finished, definitely not downgraded in term of cars/NPC density compared to the day one version and is now bug-free. :D

Same system but changed GPU to an RX 480 8 GB Reference (modded to pretend to be an RX 580). How little you really need to run this game.

Whoever stating the game is now bug free is completely delusional. After patching to 1.63 Hotfix, I no longer can use fast travel. It crashes every time. CDPR definitely do not try to make their game more stable.

And here I thought it's so heavy that I wouldn't be able to even "test" or try it on my own rig even on Low-Mid right now with my GTX1650Super.
*I also really liked the way you introduced the conclousions  Thanks mate!

Who claimed that ?, bugs i have come across just funny, not seen that one before but i have seen burned out cop cars driving around, people spawning underground or in a bunch of boxes and they all started after the update.

Been a while i have seen a person spawn in the middle of the street in midair, that one was fun to bump in to 1st person on a bike ha.

Cannot say any about fast travel i have only used it 3 times in 250 hours so.

That porsche sucks in the game. and there are many other cars better even free one with guns to boot.

with my GTX1650Super.
Run 1080p Medium. Prolly won't even need FSR to have 50+ FPS. 1650 Super is better than RX 580 in this game. If you end up digging this game, I recommend ignoring AMD GPUs and getting the best value RTX GPU you can find. And not because of almost non-existent RT performance of AMD GPUs, no. CDPR ruined FSR and don't try to fix it.

Same here. Never seen that before the Phantom Liberty.

Was a thing, became more often.

I forgot to update on this matter in this thread. The issue arised from my corrupted save file. Why did it get corrupted, only the CDPR could know. I tested my PC thoroughly, no hard- and software issues other than the unstable CPU (forced to run at low speed so it is stable) and CP2077 whatsoever.
That porsche sucks in the game
Very much true. Only Caliburn feels like a reasonable car since 2.0. I will tweak the hell outta engine parametres because driving quote-unquote sport cars slower than my grandma sucks balls.

I wud try now ofc!

As for the GPU - I've just ordered the 7800XT and it's been a week now so its gonna arrive tomorrow... but TBH those last 3 days I've read everything possible on the forum's feedbacks and comparison to nvidia (maybe it was a mistake to do that lastly...) and I realized the mistake was mine because its seems the majority leans towards nvidia cards even tho you might get a little more raw-power on AMD GPU's to a/price...
I was thinking to change on the last minute but the store said it is not possible now.
I'll have to live with that and hopefuly I'll have a good experience from it even tho.

7800 XT ain't no mistake, it's a great value unit. Unless you paid a lot for that.

6700 XT is about ~65% as powerful and I'm getting very playable experience at 1440p and killer experience at 1080p. Yeah, I don't use ray tracing whatsoever, but still.

Yes the price-performance was the best choice over here in my budget limits, and I do realize they are pretty powerful indeed. I just hope I won't meet any disappointment as some did because overall im not damnding much, I play at 1080p mostly with standart 60hz monitors and I barely know what's Ray Tracing is.

Sure, I ran this on a GTX1080 with medium/high settings, FSR scale for an effective 2560x1080 on a 3440x1440 panel, and I had around 40-50 FPS throughout.

Now I can max the game sans RT at 90-100 FPS native. I can't say the experience is wildly different, its just sharper.

My 6700 XT doesn't allow for that even at 1080p... :/
I still cut back on a few things that simply don't make a difference or make for a huge performance hit. Bluntly going ultra all the things is silly, if there's no payoff.

I remember seeing a bunch of guys yelling, "Cyberpunk is perfect" but I'm here because the VANILLA game installed on the UP TO DATE PC decided to crash upon hacking a couple Barghesters with "detonate grenade" one.

As of 1.52, when I started playing it, the game only crashed when I did something wrong (i.e. insane overclocking or some unstable modding), now it crashes just cause it loves doing it. Magnificent work, CDPR.

Which driver? DLC? I'll test it but I don't have the DLC.

Any specific locations in game?
Besides Dogtown where it happens most often, West Wind Estate and Santo Domingo. Almost never happens in Watson, especially in Kabuki.

I can try it without DLC. Any specific locations in game?
Prerequisites:
• 6700 XT (clocked or not, doesn't matter)
• Windows 10 or 11
• 2.x game version (happens more often in 2.02)
• Game settings aggressive enough to only leave 1 GB free VRAM (was unable to reproduce with >5 GB free VRAM)
• Hack spreading perk
• Overclocked mode (of the game character, not a computer)
• Two "detonate grenade" hacks uploaded at once

Closest I have is my 3900x/6950XT on my bench. I'll give it a try either way.

Drove around. Maxed settings with raytrace on, updated game and drivers. Can't get it to crash.
