I am still having problems digesting words like "broken" for FSR, when the card used is an Nvidia one. Can we really be sure that Nvidia is not doing anything funny in their drivers, knowing that most sites will just use one graphics card for testing both DLSS and FSR?
 
They look nigh identical bar some fsr flicker on fences, maybe I wasn't watching the video at a proper resolution

Looks equally bad with FSR on consoles also so doubtful maybe even worse.

Broken is still a bit much the issues apparent are the same issues I've seen in every game with FSR.

I did notice that when watching a video comparison from a techtuber if I can't turn off FSR on my all AMD system I am not playing this at all on it...
 
Can hardly tell any differences at all, even in the videos there is some some extra shimmering in the distance on fences with FSR, other than that looks identical. The game looks incredibly soft regardless, how could anyone even tell which is which baffles me.

I know people swear DLSS looks a trillion times better in person and you can't tell that from videos or screenshots which is insane but even if that's true what's the point of these comparisons ?

Trillion times no, At 4k it looks slightly better at 1440p the gap widens and at 1080p way better but I would argue neither should be used at 1080p unless you have no other choice for more performance. I would still rather not use FSR at all though at any resolution. Although unlike some I also do not like anything below DLSS quality.

I did buy into the hype of some AMD users that it is better on an all AMD system which is false same issues as on my 3080ti/4090 are present on my 6700XT. Super fun system to mess around with regardless so worth every penny and needed an update on the state of AMD drivers anyways.

I have two 27 inch 1440p monitors that I use to compare side by side so that makes the differences more obvious and when I look at either at 4k it is on a 65 inch screen which also makes the differences more obvious than they would be on a 4k 32/27 inch screen just as a disclaimer on my own use cases. I have a samsung G8 Oled in a box I will also test both on soon for myself.
 
I saw the images and watched the video in 4k resolution and I can say that if you take the 1080p resolution out of the equation fsr 2.2 has very satisfactory results since dlss/FGdlss also have shimmering and flickering to a lesser extent.

Very true. I remember recently enough checking out FSR on witcher 3 on a 3060ti and it looked insanely bad.
Happen to see it on a 5700xt after that and it looked fine.

Depends on the game. I find playing the last of us for example, better looking at about 1800p native than dlss 4k quality.

People sing its praises a lot but DLSS introduces weird artifacts that I find distracting. FSR is slightly worse. Neither are the silver bullet for solving the ray tracing performance issue.

I don't think in any scenario regardless of hardware used people will be happy if their vendor of choice loses.... People root for these companies like a sports team afterall.

Nothing will break lose. The current mentality is "It's AMD's fault" and the typical conclusion everywhere will be "Considering you also have DLSS, FSR not working as expected on Nvidia cards, means you should stick to the, anyway, superior DLSS".

In any case, ALL TPU "FSR vs DLSS" articles are the same "FSR is BROKEN". When using words like "BROKEN", we should at least test if the hardware is NOT a parameter. Or blame the developers for selling a BROKEN game to AMD and GTX owners, or not choosing Intel's XeSS instead that is also considered better, but strangely, it's not preferred even on Nvidia sponsored titles.

I know that, but empirical evidence goes a long way to shut an argument down. Too many of these performance reviews play to subjectivity. The stills are pointless as they don't show the FSR shimmering issues. Frankly, in most DLSS/FSR stills, FSR looks better/less blurry. I appreciate people have differing views but the stills aren't helping the conclusions. TBH, I have shimmering with my 4070ti in Cyberpunk.

It really doesn't matter at the end of the day an AMD or pre RTX gpu owner only have FSR2/1 and Xess vanilla as options other than built in options like TAAU so even if it is not the best option it really doesn't matter if DLSS is better because they can't use it.

Intel get's a custom Xess tailored to their hardware which seem pretty good or FSR.

The only real advantage with Nvidia is you get all of them as an option minus the specialized version of Xess which I would like to try just not enough to buy an A770/750 for.....

My biggest annoyance with FSR is that AMD hasn't improved it much since it launched and honestly even if that takes a specialized version like with what intel does with Xess that runs much better on AMD hardware they should do it because honestly their customers deserve it.

Also not sure why but developers even when only targeting FSR in amd sponsored games still find a way to F it up if it's going to be the only option at least make it good.

I really hope we will see more FSR 3.0 implementations, I tried the Forespoken demo, and although there is a slight increase in input lag, it definitely does help with motion fluidity.
