Fluctuating BCLK on Gigabyte X670E Aorus Master motherboard - faulty oscillator?

Today I got Gigabyte X670E Aorus Master motherboard, so far I just updated BIOS to F10d and set memory to EXPO 1 profile, but I noticed that BCLK keeps fluctuating between 100.69 and 100.85, I even saw few blips to 105! (Memory frequency jumping from 60xx to 63xx!)

I tried setting the clock to 102, and the outcome was again 102.75 - fluctuating around this value.

It the BCLK oscillator faulty?

Honestly other than the spikes that's about par for the course in my experience.
 
virtualization enabled? that messes up clock speed readings a lot.
 
Likely just measurement error, if the base clock really fluctuated by that much you'd get a lot of crashes/freezes, the rest of the system is extremely sensitive to changes in base clock speed, that's why no one even touches that these days.
 
I did not find the spread spectrum in BIOS...

I did not change any setting in BIOS other than selecting the RAM profile.

The board should measure what is going on with it correctly.

The board looks really nice, I hope i will be able to figure it out.
 
What are you using to monitor this ?

These sensors report inaccurate values all the time, that's just how these things are.

The bclk spike is normal. If you have no stability problems then it must be normal.

Seems like you're looking for problems that aren't there.
 
Sorry, but if you set 100.00 MHz frequency you expect to get exactly that, or difference or 0.01 or 0.02 MHz. Not 75 MHz more and fluctuating.

I have never seen in my life in any system such a difference and fluctuation of BCLK frequency.

Your gonna be disappointed with any modern motherboard. They all do it to a degree. Either I'm at 99.96 or 101. I assume it's a measurement error.
 
What does HWiNFO64 report for your Bus Clock?

Uh, no, because BCLK and RAM frequency haven't been tied together for at least half a decade. If you'd done any research instead of posting this thread, you'd know that.
 
No board will give you 100.00 Mhz exactly, none.

I actually just saw the .00 now.. in my defense I am 8 feet from my screen and I need glasses, sorry :)

I think what I really need is just a bigger tv ;)

Fluctuations seem to be the norm. I have a similar board to you. Fluctuations aside, the system is stable. It may just be a monitoring issue.

Mine doesn't move at all, maybe they hid it in the last decimal place :kookoo:
 
Do you have HVCI enabled? If HVCI is on, then these readout errors are to be expected. You're looking for core isolation and memory integrity settings, turn it off, unless you need the extra security (business system). This is not desirable and detrimental to a gaming PC's performance.

Mine only changes if I'm not overclocking. it will jump 1mhz in either direction. But I also do static OC and don't mess with PBO .
