[Help] Problems with a Chinese RX580 8GB 2048SP

I saw a topic of on techpowerup of someone with the exact same PCB. Almost every vbioses which were suggested are starting with D00034:

I think it is wise to try the following RX570 bios (D00034 with Samsung K4G80325FC memory):

Thanks, I tested this BIOS but the problem still persists. Core clock stuck at 300MHz

I think you need to try some AFOX bioses since the PCB has the exact same board number listed on their site.
https://www.afox-corp.com/show-51-149-1.html (AFRX580-8192D5H7-V2)

Can you give the following bios a try?

Some other AFOX bioses which might work:

@N1MR0D Any luck with those AFOX bioses?

Hi,
I believe my 2048 from ebay may look similar to yours, or at least same style heatsink. Think its the other type of ram though FB.
Happy to link the bios if it will help. Runs but needs the Patcher to remove bios check on boot for windows. Also seems to have decent performance when benchmarked. Maybe a little power hungry on for the 6 pin.

Mine also run PCI 1.1 at idle but once under load shows 3 in gpu-z. Have you clicked the little question mark next to the speed, then click start render. Does it now change to 3? (sorry if im stating the obious here)

Hello all I was looking for a thread like this! I,am stuck with the same gpu and Envinda RX580 2048sp from aliexpress.

And it is also stuck at 300mhz core/gpu clock but the mem clock boosts to 1750 once under load.

I,am still in dispute with the seller once this is finished i will open up my card.

I have tried al kinds of bios files but non fixed my issue yet.

Does anyone have a solution for this problem ?

Please let me know if you need anything from my from original bios files to pictures from the card itself?

Its a refurb card (made with recycled parts from faulty chinese gpus, they stuffed them on a generic pcb and slapped a crappy 2 heatpipe cooler on top). 65 usd for this thing is a ripoff, any major tinkering would potentially break this thing.
As of march 2023 you can get a real 580 (8gig, 2304 sp, 4 heatpipes, xfx) for around 75 usd (easy to find on aliexpress). Only needs a standard full maintenance (clean the dust, change the tim, change the thermal pads, lube the fans) and you get a silent rx 580 with near 1660S level of performance. (in dx12 games at least).

If you happen to already purchase that generic gpu, the best option would be to return it (or ask for a maximum refund, especially if the card doesnt work properly, if you do the dispute correctly, the aliexpress would return your money), and then get the aforementioned xfx.

thank you for your reply but not a really helpful one in fixing the problem i have with the current card

You can try the ASUS's rx580 bios.My rx580 2048sp(or 480)can work when used this bios. You can also try the bios called D0034 Polaris 20XL(I'm sorry I can't speak English well)

I am little late with my responce, but i have same type card, but is MAXSUN Radeon RX 580 2048sp. I don't have any type of problem, unless count some time when i play games my temps go to 83-85C and the card fans when are in higher percent they are noisy. I don't know did you fix your problem, but always can try MAXSUN vbios.

well mine is Hynix, and with driver date august 24th..about pcie x 1.1. is normal, is eco mod when gpu don´t work heavy or just idle, just click on "? > start render test and you get x 16 3.0 easy. if nay want my bios just ask.

Thanks, this solved my problem but now the display port isn't working. Do you know some solution?

Maybe you could try the AMD/ATI Pixel Clock Patcher to see if it solves the problem
Or try this one that i found and worked too

Unfortunately I opened it and discovered that mine is a 215-0876204 which is an RX 470 modified to look like an RX580 sp2048.

That is a workaround and not a solution! AMD/ATI Pixel Clock Patcher will not fix the root cause!

Can you make a seperate thread for your card? Please make a photo of the PCB and memory.

I have the same problem, can someone please suggest me a bios,I've already tried many bios's but the screen flickering and driver timeouts still persist, and yeah i tried many drivers, latest and old ones, currently running amd/ati bios

This GPU was mined to the ground. I'm fairly sure one of those memory chips at the minimum failed due to thermal damage given the amount of yellowing on them. Buying Chinese Polaris cards from mining rigs is as good as setting your money alight. Return your card if you acquired it recently.

I really wish to return it,but i bought it for a time now,so can't use it anymore?even with a less powerfull bios?

Sorry,no one was giving me suggestion and i was frustrated with this card
Two bioses where provided within 24 hours. See timestamps. 5 days later you resurrect a dead thread....
Lets continue in your own thread and provide the photo's I asked before so we can confirm the correct bios is provided

Before anything, I know buying an RX580 from aliexpress isn't always (and almost never) the best choice, but being on very low budget and with the extreme markup for graphics cards in my country, it was the most sound choice available, specially considering I managed to grab it on 11.11 for $65.

I've been trying to solve the issue on my own for the past couple of weeks and I've made some progress. Initially I thought it was a drivers issue as the original problem was the system randomly freezing minutes after booting up or bluescreens. The problem persisted even on fresh windows 10 and linux installs so I figured the problem must be the BIOS, as chinese manufacturers modify these for crypto mining.

Here's a pic of GPU-Z on the original BIOS and the "GPU-Z Parameter" image the seller has on the product page

(Sorry for all the pictures of GPU-Z on my monitor instead of screencaps)

Did some digging and decided to flash this BIOS after confirming that the memory on my card was Samsung

GPU-Z after flashing the 570 BIOS
View attachment 281288

After flashing the BIOS no crashes at all (until later). I used the PC like that for a couple days but when I tried gaming on it, the performance was extremely low (20fps on Cyberpunk 2077 720p on minimum graphics and 11%-15% gpu relative performance on userbenchmark). Not only that but when it does some hardware encoding for Parsec or Jellyfin it crashes. So I decided to try flashing a different BIOS. Currently I've tried the 570 BIOS, which I've already linked and this "veineda" BIOS. Both seem to work but with the extremely low performance issue.

And I've also tried this "MLLSE" BIOS which performed noticeably better during the userbenchmark test but glitched and bluescreened before it ended. Will randomly bluescreen minutes after boot.

On further inspection I noticed that the memory has a "128" engraved on it, so I've been looking for a BIOS that supports samsung K4G80325FC memory and has "D00034 Polaris20 XL A1 GDDR5 128Mx32 4GB 300e/300m" in the product name like this BIOS, as opposed to the "D00033 Polaris20 XL A1 GDDR5 256Mx32 8GB 300e/300m" on the other ones I've tried. I still haven't found a suitable BIOS as all the ones I've found only support different memory (Micron, hynix). Could this actually be the problem or am I just making assumptions?

I'll also try it in my friends PC in a couple days to check for compatibility issues it may have with my PC.

My knowledge is limited to what I've read while trying to fix this problems the past few days so any help is appreciated.
I bought a MLLSE rx580 8GB 2048sp from Newegg on 4/12/23 for $69.99 plus tax. I recently put it in a build for a customer and was having weird issues. I got display and Windows installed drivers, but I ran the auto detect on AMD and have nothing but issues. Even manually clicking rx580 drivers and downloading Adrenaline I got errors that it couldn't be opened. Running any sort of benchmark would run at 1-2fps. I figured there was some driver issue. I took the heatsink off and the chip is AMD 215-0910052 and coming back to a RX570x? Even in GPUZ it would show as a 570, which I know is fairly common. Now I'm wondering if it is infact some weird driver/compatibility issue with Adrenaline or if the V BIOS is messed up. There is one that someone posted here I can try. Titled MLLSE RX 580 2048sp 8GB BIOS Filename 253019.rom. I've never flashed a V BIOS and don't have the tool, but I can buy one. Sorry if this is all over the place. This was a couple months ago and I'm trying to remember all the steps I took. I'm currently starting another build for someone and may try it in this build to replicate the issues or get it to work. Thanks!

MLLSE are Chinese recycled GPUs - and the 2048 SP is a Chinese-only SKU. It shouldn't have been sold on Newegg, tbh.

The hardware is likely dead/damaged, there is no QA as it reuses components from cards that were mined to the brink of death installed on a new PCB.

Nope, those are 256X32 packages. 8Gb each, so if you have 8 that makes it an 8GB card.

On the corner of the metal "frame" around the GPU die itself, there is a code like that. I can't see it in the picture you posted, whether it is just too bright or it has been removed I am not sure.

The code can be seen on the corner of the chip below (click to enlarge):

What that does is ensures that the BIOS is for Polaris 20 XL, rather than Polaris 10 PRO. The chips are only slightly different, but enough to cause issues with BIOS incompatibility.
Hello can I know what card is mine
