using DCOP isnt usually a good idea, even on MB from other brands,
using manual settings (clock/main timings/volts) with ryzens is the better idea.

just because the psu is enough to run it, doesnt mean its working properly.
e.g. my 2080S (with dignostic leds for power issues) has transients the three previous top tier single rail 750-850w (incl plat) units didnt like,
while a 650w (now 750w) from another brand was fine.

@natr0n
lol, really?
why buy a 5950x then? just to waste money over 5800X3D?
ignoring how many ppl on this planet have it without problems while SMT IS enabled.

XMP/DOCP is way easier than setting every single timing manually. Ryzen is very easy to not mess up; don't try a stupid speed and it'll 99% of the time work.

It's a great idea to use common sense.

ignoring for a moment that xmp is technically intel, and not for amd cpus (AMP).
on the asus/GB/asrock borads i used for me/others boards, usually SOC (and other) voltages were much higher than needed,
when using those auto settings.

i never even said ALL timings, and even if, i dont mind spending 5 min,
and prefer better/stable, over "easy/quick".

changing the 5 main timings + RFC, and dram/soc voltages, doesnt take long.,
especially considering the time "you" spend testing ram (stability),
or that once its done, you will never have to do it again (save profile, or write down timings).

@Waldorf Disabling SMT is normal for many users. I solves almost all game issues related to stutters and odd performance. Temps and watts go down a bit too.

It doesn't hurt to try. These chips are so efficient you can turn off many things and disable cores and still game without noticing.

sure, but why buy a 5950 in the fist place, if your not using the Ts?
even if not looking at the difference in cost that could go towards a faster gpu, improving fps much more than going with 16C vs 8.

When people buy a pizza... people sometimes they don't eat the crust.

Now in this situation some games work better with smt off. Even though it was bought to use the whole cpu as is with nothing disabled.

I dont know any other way to say what I said.

Subtimings effect latency, which effects Ryzen performance. It's MUCH quicker to set XMP/DOCP (XMP profiles work on AMD. Tested personally between FX/Bulldozer to a 5950x on MANY systems) and lowering the SOC voltage. Even then 5000 series doesn't have issues with SOC voltage. I never see it set above 1v and it's safe at 1.1v.

It's stable. It's quick. I have two AM4 systems running at this very moment that can vouch for speeds between 3200 and 4000.

Toopy boy, calm down... you've been just lucky. Ignoring XMP is actually a good idea and manual timings is a good idea... first of all we have problem here and OP told that he had set them already. So it leaves no other option to look at them and evaluate.

It's a dual CCD chip, this will happen.

If you want stable performance get a 5800X3D.

so lets ignore Vs for a moment.

AMP and dram V set, nothing else
14.png

this is manual mains with 16 vs 14, 1T instead of 2T, adjusted WR,RTP,FAW,RFC, dram 1.36v instead of 1.45.
getting better perf and lower latency than AMP (even with 5050.3 and 1800.1 vs 5050.1 and 1800.0 for clocks);
all while running less V on ram.
16 tuned.png

ppl want to gain from tweak/tune/oc, yet are not willing to invest 5 min...

(my friends gave his rig to the son (3800XT with LC on MSI x570,3600C18 Gskill), few weeks later complained about sudden crashes.
had messed with bios, and loaded defaults->xmp. using manual settings for main timings/voltages fixed it).

I had this PSU with other cpu as well worked just fine, I really don't think its a PSU problem this PSU is fine.

Now listen guys, I am a super newbie when it comes to this things this is my first time using an AMD, I could've go for Intel idk what the heck did I do going with stuff that I don't understand now one thing is that only D.O.C.P is in my bios the XPM doesnt even show up...

Can someone help me? Like even if its to configure the voltage and stuff manually can someone write me like every single part how do I do this manually? because I have no idea what im doing, I really need some help, I came to a conclusion to return this cpu at all but I got it for like $400 something and that seems a pretty good deal because 32 threads 16 cores and ps I've got an 6800 gpu both ryzen I thought to not fu** it up but shit happens now if someone could just please help me like to configure every setting I would appreciate it so much..

Seems pretty obvious to me that this is a software issue since you claim this started to happen recently, something got updated/changed. This may be too much of hassle but I'd install a new instance Windows on another partition and check if the problem still happens on that one. I think you are wasting your time checking for RAM issues, they don't cause stuttering.

BTW Fortnite compiles shaders in game, so it's always riddled with stutters, I'd rule that game out.

Disabling SMT is normal for many users
No it's not, almost nobody does that.

I would try a fresh install of windows 11 - dont know but would personally chose windows 11 pro over home edition - you could try to install pro without a key to begin with and see if i change any thing. Dont install ryzen master but just the AMD chipset drivers and the relevant drivers from the motherboard site.

Well like the other guy said I bought this CPU for work so i really use hyperthreading with bluestack and some other stuff I need this but just for gaming I tried to disable and still same stuff stuttering..

View attachment 329557View attachment 329567

I would start by changing DIMM slots...
Switch from A1/B1 to A2/B2
On Ryzen systems if only 2 slots are populated then it should be the A2/B2

And its weird that the 2 sticks have different setting on tRDWR (11/12)

Can you remember if you started using any new software or change anything when issue appeared?

Ahh guys... I just run a cpu test and look:

Does this mean the cpu is defective?

@harm9963
sure, except you are on a 16gb "bdie" grade kit, and a not so chep board.
try that with a 32gb 3200 kit, and it wont get that far.

@redc0de
could still be ram/baord etc.
not that up tp date on cpu tests, as my tuning was mainly ram in the past 2y.

check if you disabled the install of Asus sw/apps in bios.
im not sure what they call it, but recent updates should basically find it on anything but the lowest tier of MB.
i remember lots of ppl having issues after updating to recent bios, but not checking on new options,
with the default option being enabled state, and the board would update stuff once OS is online,
without user input/knowledge.

if you go for fresh install, def without physical internet connection/or that option disabled in bios.
cant help much with bios setting location/options, as all stuff i used for my/other builds in past 14 month, were on MSI.

Not necessarily...
Are all errors on physical core #3 and logical core #6?

EDIT:

Also...
Whats with that 47+C temp on memory?
Its too much I think

What was the voltage and speed on DRAM during that test?

After running for one hour 10K Error tf lol, I don't even know what to do anymore!!

Errors are in physical core - #0 - #6 - #13 - #10 - #7 - #12 - #1 - #2 - #5 - #15 - #11 - #3
Voltage on dram is 1.35 = speed on RAM 3200MHZ

Now I am going to run a test with everything on default in bios ram in auto and everything in default and let's see if i get any error

Not a single error when bios is set to default, just test it for an hour not a single error, def I think it's a ram issue

if it passes at stock, its the settings.

did you buy the ram as kit, or separate sticks?

i would see if you can test with the ram set to 3200 and 1.35, and soc to 1.1v,
all other stuff at auto/stock,
dont enable anything else.

So basically the big change between the 2 runs is DOCP on/off? (I can see DRAM temp on 2nd is 30C instead of 45+, so runs at 2133MHz?
It could be that the CPU/Mainboard/DRAM combo do not like each other when DOCP is ON. We've seen that before.
Sometimes nothing can be done (use different model or brand DRAM kit) and other some manual tuning could solve issues.

1705177349443.png

This is far away from a just DOCP ON situation. I have manually set every DRAM (timings, voltage and so on) setting + manual (Advanced mode) PBO and Curve Optimizer (V/F) settings.
I've set SoC voltage at 1.16v in BIOS (1.14v in Win), DRAM 1.4v (with a 120mm fan on them)
Also VDDG/VDDP (DataFabric/MemController) voltages are manually set.

I used to have some WHEA (event ID18 CacheHierarchyError) errors when I install 5900X on the system but all gone now after manual settings and maybe (also) a few BIOS updates

My system is like a test one… no case

BTW did you move sticks to A2/B2?

This specific RAM should be the cause of all of your problems since Corsair doesn't like Ryzen CPUs.

@Zach_01
more likely because of the fact its 32gb, using 4 ranks/4 sticks is usually a bit tricky for clocks.

@HD64G
did you actually care to read? on stock/default its running fine, so ..

all rigs i build since the 2nd gen had no problems running corsair, including my current kit.
ignoring that all corsair kits that can do 3600C14 or 4000 and above (DDR4), are ALL bdie (grade) or equivalent.
so bdie ram is crap?
what utter baloney.

if you dont like them, fine, just dont post ignorant stuff like this.
