ZOTAC's new range of GeForce RTX 40 SUPER graphics cards have frequently hit headlines since an unveiling at CES 2024—the Hong Kong-headquarted hardware manufacturer set the tone early, with certain models sticking to NVIDIA guide prices. Hardware sleuth, momomo_us, has continued to keep track of ZOTAC-related activity—their latest discovery being the premature sale of GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super Trinity Black Edition 16 GB models on Amazon USA. The listing popped up over the weekend, with customers greeted to a $899.99 asking price—so $100 above MSRP. It is clear that this product page was activated by mistake—the card is not available to purchase (at the time of writing).

VideoCardz proceeded to investigate further, following the initial find (courtesy of momomo_us)—their weekend sleuthing efforts have outed additional premature ZOTAC listings on Amazon.com. In the GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER category we can see the AMP Extreme AIRO version ($1399.99), Trinity OC White Edition ($1349.99) and Trinity Black Edition ($1299.99). Moving down the line—with 4070 Ti SUPER cards—listings appeared for AMP HOLO ($969.99), Trinity OC White Edition ($939.99) and the aforementioned Trinity Black Edition (non-overclocked) coming in at $899.99. They also tracked down PNY's GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER 16 GB XLR8 Gaming VERTO EPIC-X RGB graphics card—its Amazon price listing was reported as being a semi-wallet friendly $1049 (prior to deactivation).

If they’re even remotely close most of the AIB cards would be even worse value than the 4080, which was already horrible.

$300-400 over MSRP for the 4080S...

Arrested Development No GIF

The 4080S pricing of Zotac makes it look like the 4080S was originally supposed to slot in at the same MSRP as the 4080.

The fact that the 4070 Ti SUPER has 16GB VRAM and cost $200 less than the 4080 SUPER is going to make the 4080 SUPER look like a pretty bad value...
On the other hand the extra L2 Cache (64MB vs 48MB) might help the 4080 SUPER a bit.

$300 over MSRP? For a Zotac?
They are wild.
Yeah ZOTAC is out of their mind with those prices.

It's really them who set that price since they're the ones who allow it to be shipped and sold by Amazon.com itself here in the US.

In fact it is Zotac who sets those prices. Their pricing plan includes a ramp down

By first leaked benchmarks RTX 4070 Ti Super is almost as fast as RTX 4080, abd noone expects RTX 4080 Super to have a large advantage over vanilla - it was even described as just "better value" due to 200$ lower MSRP.

But there are some rumors that none of the Super cards will come in any significant numbers. So they might as well push the price, they can't sell tons of them.

Nvidia can still channel some revenue from AI to gaming sector in their financial report, and claim a pure win with the new releases. The fact that Mindfactory sales numbers, Steam Survey show that almost noone buys Ada cards isn't really relevant.

I've already maxed out the 16GB on my RX 6800 in several different scenarios. I can't imagine anyone who does any research would willingly shell out for $600+ 12GB cards of $1,000+ 16GB cards.
