It was actually meant to be a bit humorous considering the conversation revolves around AI. I hate to have to explain this but the "...Microsoft popups be like “I'm your huckleberry”...” was meant to convey the thought the AI is listening to your conversation with others about alternatives and it takes autonomous action by popping up a window as a nod to what your preference should be. Part of the humor in that is an appearance of an act of self-preservation on the part of the Microsoft AI trying to algorithm your behavior (staying with Windows) via an appealing cultural pop reference. Another aspect of the humor is normally we might think of AI as something that needs to be trained but from another perspective you might find that it's actually training you.You say that like a criticism. That is exactly what Microsoft should do - that is, they need to keep watch of any potentially competing product. Just as Intel should do with AMD and AMD with Intel. Ford with GM. Android with Apple. NASA with Roscosmos and CNSA.
