looking to upgrade from 1080p 24in monitor to 27in 1440p these are the options.

hello, im looking into changing my current monitor which is an aoc 24g2 1080p 24 inches monitor, the monitor is fine its just that i wanna actually feel the upgrade of my current gpu (rtx 4070 non super)
so ive been looking around these choices that ive locally:

the purpose of the usage of the monitor: gaming, general usage, watching some movie/anime show etc as i said general usage.

now if you decide to look around the site that i posted and if you find something more interesting you are welcome to suggest it but i dont wanna go above 500$ if possible.

problem being is not available locally for me im not in US, im in El Salvador.
so using amazon directly is not ideal would be over expensive for me, like buying 2 monitors.

Of the two, the Asus is fairly good, it’s a refresh of VG27AQ which is a known decent model. Info on the LG is scarce, but I have found quite a bit of complaints related to uniformity, so I would suggest avoiding that one or being sure that the store has a solid return policy.

yeah sadly the LG model doesnt really have many "professional" reviews it has users reviews but its hard to say, its cheaper in price not sure about the quality of what it offers, but im aware the Asus is more decent and at least more "info" about it i suppose.

the return policy of the retailer store is rather trash sadly so... 6 months locally with them and as far im aware with both asus and lg manufacture warranty is 1 year only, both has service center in my country in case needed to use the warranty with them but lets be honest 1 year almost nothing will happen and if it does well rip.

The brightness will be more than fine, unless you plan on using the display in a sunny room with no curtains/blinders. The contrast will be lacking on the vast majority of modern IPS-type panels, not much you can do. Some higher end models will be better, but it will never be VA contrast, let alone OLED.

sorry to ask, did you manage to check the other models in the website? i know its in spanish but perhaps you can get your way around it, the one thing that kept me from VA is the colors but im not sure if the website has some "decent" VA panels to consider as well ?
as for the brightness yeah my room has blinders so thats not really a problem as matter of fact, the current monitor im using has the brightness lowered so that shouldnt be a problem really.

If you're thinking about 1440p, I'd much rather get a 3440x1440 ultrawide. I switched to this from a 24" 1080p, and honestly, I'd never get a 16x9 screen ratio monitor again, it's that great.

i believe you but the prices and choices that i have locally are very short thats why its so difficult to pick something... and why i decided to come here and get some input with the choices i have available within the budget i seek.

I did, and I do speak a bit of Spanish, so it wasn’t that bad for me. I wouldn’t recommend any of the VA models in your price range, the motion performance will be significantly worse than the IPS ones and a lot of them are curved, which often introduces potential defects as well. There ARE VA panels with excellent motion performance, but those are SVA Samsung ones which come in significantly more expensive models. And a lot of the monitors in the shop are 1080p, even in 27 inch form factor, that’s why I said that pickings are slim. Very slim.

It’s fine, it’s the same PPI as a 24 inch 1080p screen which was a standard for a long while. All depends on how far you sit and your own preferences. I am running a 32 inch QHD and for me it’s absolutely okay. Being fairly myopic the additional PPI would be lost on me anyway, even with glasses, lol. The immersion factor in games is quite high, on the other hand.

It is, for the vast majority of users. Both 32 and (far rarer) 24 inch options come with certain caveats.

24" is the ideal size for 1080P. 27" is 1440P territory.

Wow, these websites are uh... not the best. I really can't see anything worth mentioning in the category I suggested.

As for VA, I don't have a problem with it. I've been using VA monitors since time immemorial. Tastes are different, though.

agreed this is why is difficult to make a pick within all the models that are listed in that site... its really sad but it is what it is.

It’s the best 27 inch QHD model of the ones that are available to you, so in this particular case - yes.

thanks this helps really and everyone else opinion on the matter tbh, ive been struggling all the week with this, i know the choices are very slim and very limited but this is what i gotta deal with.
motherboards, rams, cpus etc there are more variations and incase i dont like what i have locally its easier to get it through a familiar/traveler because the prices wouldnt go as high unlike with a monitor or cpu case which the weight doubles the prices a lot.

I too sometimes send my black cat, my familiar in dark arts, to fetch me PC hardware from the Devils cellar. It’s cheaper that way, although the screams of the damned said hardware sometimes emits are a bit annoying.

27" 1440p is a sweet spot. Easy to drive by most GPUs, nice PPI. Good size if you like to sit close to the screen. And I got mine after many years on a 24" 1200p and 1080p. It's a world of difference.
32" wouldn't do without 2160p. Once you get used to decent PPI, there's no going back. I can count pixels on my 24" 1080p, and on 27" 1440p I noticed a dead pixel in the middle of the screen the other day. It's like a tiny dust particle, and visible only on white background. On a 24" 1080p it would be a disaster.
