It's on UbiSoft for $70 to buy for the Standard Edition ($130 for the Ultimate Edition), and $18 per month (WTF?!) for the Ultimate Edition. Is anyone gonna pay for this before seriously checking the reviews?

No thanks...
Not interested..

I won't pay for it even after reviews. Never paying Ubisoft again.

Hell no!
Ubisoft has lost their damn mind.

Hey look a new Star Wars game! Cool oh it’s ubi… nvm moving on

Ubisoft&EA are on my no buy list of publishers now, which is unfortunate as they do have some great titles in their catalogue still.

"AAA" are no longer worth it. The only Star Wars I am interested in is Total War

Honestly the only way I'm playing a Ubisoft game again is when I'm getting PAID to do it.

I don't even pirate this anymore. Its just a waste of bandwidth.
Ubisoft and live service is also a match made in hell, it spells instant no buy almost as hard as anything EA puts out.

I won't lie, Ubisoft should be gone from this market. Its pure cancer. Somehow I expect EA to somehow churn out a half-decent title on rare occasions, even if they're just as cancerous for the industry; but those random bags of money they tend to throw around on budgets sometimes land in the right place, strangely enough (Titanfall, etc.). But Ubisoft is a lost case. They have shown a consistent inability to reinvent themselves; they stopped innovating after Far Cry 2, and their 'remasters and reboots' need just two iterations to devolve into the same old shit you've played the last couple of decades. Just no. Add on top the nonsense with The Crew (live service) and what we've had with The Division and how it was thrown away, then picked up and dusted off so it became generic PVE... they're lost. They want to release a The Division 3, it seems. Like.... whát?! Did you not get the fucking memo? "3rd time's the charm" is your business plan, or what gives?

Is that happening or just a dream you have ?
For me, its a Warhammer 40K Total War. Both would require a space-based campaign map. Bring it onnnnnn

It was a leak from a well known person in the know. 40K will come first. Apparently it is being developed as we speak. I do not expect a Dawn of War shunt around space but more likely taking the battles in Space Marine and giving them Total War flavour. Imagine if they do the fall of Cadia.

it's rumored but there has been no announcement of creative assembly getting a license from lucsas/disney
It won't be Creative Assembly but Sega that will have that. I am pretty sure Disney may have been a catalyst. Regardless of how we feel Disney has made Star Wars Games better as a whole. I mean the lasers from the Tie Fighters in Squadrons is spot on. This offering will also be like Assassin's Creed Star Wars most likely and that concept does sound cool. The price is in kiss my a$# territory though. I can wait until the price is right.

No, screw them. I got burned once when I bought AC Origins because they required me to have constant internet connection and to log into their service. Fuck that, fuck them

So, they're taking Far Cry gameplay and slapping Star Wars name on it? Gross.

I've seen some pictures. That was enough for me.

If I want Star Wars, I'll stick to Jedi: FO, or any of the older classics, like The Force Unleashed, or the Jedi Knight (Dark Forces sequel) series. And if I want to shoot something, Republic Commando is always here to save the day.

OP

Please add poll at top asking what percentage of people responding will in fact be among those pre-purchasing.

This is for Ubisoft+ which is their subscription service, or you can pay ÂŁ130 for ultimate LOL still a big F NO from me, those prices are insane

OP if you do then make the poll anonymous. The way this thread has gone I imagine some people will be too intimidated to admit they will pre-purchase otherwise.

Never pre-order anything within the games industry, haven't you learned?

No, not because it's Ubisoft or Star Wars or whatever, just because I don't spend money in pre order !
Wait and enjoy half priced games :)

I don't care who makes it if it's good I'll buy it if it's trash I won't.... That being said this games hasn't really moved the needle for me and I'm not really looking forward to it.... Star wars games have been pretty meh and even the decent Respawn ones suffer from terrible optimization on PC....

I stopped pre-ordering years ago when physical copies no longer came with extra goodies. It's easier to wait a month and get it half price during Black Friday sales.
Or Summer, Flash, Spring, Developer Day. If you are not focused on what is in the narrative there are so many cool Games that are cheap and place to buy Games cheap too.

I've not played a good SW in almost 20 years, the respawn/fallen order game felt like AC in a SW universe so I skipped the follow up.

I miss the SNES games and early PC stuff lol. Rogue Squadron is probably my favorite but I prefer flying an Xwing over swinging a lightsaber in a game.
