Hi! Most of the times i find the help required in this forum about flashing gpus along time, but this one almost make me go insane.

Long short story, i'm from uruguay, buyed some ex-mining RX470 on ebay, very bad packaging, arrived with some smd components missing/floating around.

2 was ok after soldering the missing smd
1 came with DOA gpu core

and the last one is messing with me, i kind of think that maybe the gpu is almost dead, but as i search and search about this gpu i cant find what i think is the proper vbios

The other ones are 470D, but this one is a 470 non D

some info of the card

Sapphire RX470 8G Mining Quad UEFI (W/O FAN)
Sk Hynix Memory H5GC8H24AJR
GPU DIE 215-0876506 - nothing anywhere about this

Stickers:

P/N: S88-WE353-G30FT - nothing anywhere about this
SKU# 11256-77 - nothing anywhere about this

The other ones have a sticker in the pcie tab that says "B0355" but this one says "0112" (fisically is the same pcb), the ONLY difference is this one is only PCIE X1 as it dont have the smd in the pcie lines for X16 (if it works later i can solder them)

Tried with a bunch of vbios from the TPU Collection and nothing, I tried almost 25-30 bios, tried from other models (470-570-580 2048sp) but no result. i'm testing the cards with a Dell T3500 that has a post code in the front and with some bios it goes (without screen) to windows and with others it hangs in an error (as no display present, gpu error or something i can assume), even i dump the bios from the ones working and flashed into this one and nothing.

All the vbios that i tried was using the type of memory that this board has, no bios detected properly the values of the core nor the rest of the voltages (some times it shows random values like "VDDC 7623864.12A or Gpu using 12312543.12W or 100% usage of the GPU".

The bios that came with the card dont let windows go into desktop, this was later solved using polariseditor and i found that the vcore values for all the frecuencies where 65XXX (like 65v of vcore), i edited that, flashed one of the bios and then it let me go to the desktop.

I'm using them as secondary as they dont have outputs (they have the hdmi, but there are missing the 3.3r so no output)

The last thing that i can do is change the NCP81022N but i want to use it as last resource.

Already searched for missing components in the pcb and everything is ok

ANY help is appreciated.

Thx! (sry if something is misspelled)

here are some photos (please dont kill me for the jumps as i dont have any fuses around)

RX470/570 E353 bios with H5GC8H24AJR might work if it existed...which bioses did you try?

Did you try one of these D00033 bioses?

Did you try a D00034 bios?

Hi there.
I own such a "mining" card, but in my case it is only with 4GB and with Samsung.

Y'all look theough these and see if you find any with AJR ram please. I'm a little worn out.

Sometimes 387E bios work...

Thx or all the replys, im checking right now if one of VuurVOS recommended works.

when i was searching in the collection, i entered one by one, only downloading the ones that has this type of memory.

Only searched in the 470 and 570 part of filter (around 250 bioses)

But the ones that where recommended didnt where there, strange..

Yep that are the ones, but not from that seller, here in uruguay is a killer deal even using them as secondary for rendering cause here rx470/480/570/580 are something like 120-150usd, and with shipping and fees cost something around 35-40 each.

We wanted them to make some cheap gaming, but went bad o_O

Will give u feedback asap.

Make sure the bios sequence has E353 or 353E and Hynix ARJ ram is specified in the file details, otherwise the card either may not function correctly or even brick.

Here i attach the results of the bios that VuurVOS recommended

Also i tested this list and no one worked

8- https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/251986/251986

All had the same result.

note: i forgot to tell that every time i flash a new bios i need to go to Device Manager because always appears with the exclamation simbol and error 43, then i reinstall the drivers and it dissappear and windows reports "This device is working properly"

You need a rx470 bios, not a rx580 2048sp bios

Also i attach a capture of the other 470d bios dump (that works properly in the others) in this 470 , they have the same SkHynix memory also, but it appear as "Autodetect 0mb"

i dont know and cant find how to use Tserver to test the modules using it as secondary, any recommendations?

Dude find a non D model 470 bios, also it might be going beyond the spec of the page on pcb board repair, you might consider northridgefix, igorslab...

Make sure the bios sequence has E353 or 353E and Hynix ARJ ram is specified in the file details, otherwise the card either may not function correctly or even brick.
All Sapphire RX470 E353 bioses with H5GC8H24AJR memory support are mining bioses. I didnt find any regular RX470/RX570 E353 cards which are outfitted with Hynix H5GC8H24AJR memory support.

@Chanki
I found three RX580 2048SP bioses of Sapphire. All bioses are based on a E353 board. One of these might work:

Hello.
The closest thing i found is this :

Hello.
The closest thing i found is this :
That is a fully enabled E353 Polaris bios for a Polaris 2304SP GPU. That bios is likely unfit due the RX470 GPU (2048SP).

Update..

Non of them work.

Even i try every one of the 3 lists that eidairaman1 commented.

I was all day testing vbios.

Is very weird, maybe is a hardware issue and im wasting time..

Just to be sure. Did you also try the three RX580 2048SP bioses?

yep all of them, all bios suggested here as a prio and a lot more from my searches

Well i open a ticket in Sapphire, maybe they will send me the correct bios, i inserted the S/N in their ticket system and all the info showed up was correct with the card automatically, so they have acknowledge it

Most likely the card is screwed.

Sorry if im very late for this, but unfortunately it was a hardware related issue.

I mailed Sapphire China and they send me the original vbios for this card.

I will upload it when i got home.

Thanks for the help!

Good morning everyone, I find myself in a case similar to that of Chanki, I am from Guatemala and I bought an RX470 8GB mining, it was intact, the only thing is that it came without visible ports and only had 1 hidden one (HDMI), I soldered the connections but The original BIOS that it came with did not give video at startup, I flashed it with the integrated graphics, with the 8GB bios https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/195548/195548 from here I got it and it gave video, but my memory ends in AJR, and it doesn't recognize anything, it said it had 0GB of GPUZ vram, I already tried with all the Bios they sent here and nothing, it only worked once with a BIOS from an RX570, using the integrated graphics output of the processor and placing in high performance to the RX470 gave me jerks and bad performance, I still used Thread-AMD-ATI-Pixel-Clock-Patcher it only worked for me with the connection to the motherboard, but not in the GPU's own HDMI output, so Please Chanki send the bios here, I can't get the correct bios it gives me error 43

These bioses have H5GC8H24AJR support. They named it H5GC8H24AJR_PARTNER_SAPPHIRE which prevented me to locate these bios earlier with google:

Some other bios you can try:

Thank you very much, I will try these bios

I have one of these mystery 11256-77 cards as well, probably bought from the same seller on eBay. I haven't done much with the BIOS because I believe it's limited to PCIe x1. If I can get a working BIOS on it, I may bother with soldering on those tiny resistors.

NOTE: When I look up specs for the BIOS chips on the back of the 11256-77 card, they seem to be 512kb chips. All the BIOS files I've ever downloaded for these cards are 256kb. I've also confirmed that the BIOS chips for my other Sapphire RX 470 are 256kb chips. Is it possible that these downloaded BIOSes just need to have their second half padded with "FF" in order to work? Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

Same details as above:
Sapphire RX470 8G Mining Quad UEFI (W/O FAN)
Sk Hynix Memory H5GC8H24AJR
SKU# 11256-77

Allow me to tag folks above in case there's interest. :)
@VuurVOS @Chanki @eidairaman1 @Joseph25G

Here's a lovely photo showing what I believe to be two of the 512kb BIOS chips on the 11256-77 (and also of the empty pads for the lovely missing capacitors) along with a Google search for the BIOS part number, BY25D40ASTIG.

For reference, here's a photo of my working RX 470 4GB Sapphire with what I believe to be 256kb BIOS chips (and actual capacitor pairs along the PCIe connector populated) along with a Google search for the part number, Pm25LQ020.

You only need the first 256kb, second part can be filled with "FF"

empty pads for the lovely missing capacitors
The missing capacitors will limit the cards PCI-E speed to 1x or 4x.
