Recommended voltages for 7800X3D

Just play past the tutorial, although with the 4070 your card will be the limit. For some reason the game is heavier when running 4k + 60% res scale than when you are running 1080p. And I mean heavier on the cpu.
Does it have dlss?

On the 7950X3D it just uses one core at 100% every other core is 5-10% or lower sill hits 225-240fps when I drop to 90% gpu utilization through scaling To make sure I am cpu limited very high settings.

Games is DX11 apparently in 2024 so not surprised.

Dx11, jeeez....

Can you try once human? I've seen that once you unlock the framerate it plays like absolute crap on the 7800x 3d. It pegs all cores to 100% and cause excessive stuttering. It's a free game

And this is how it plays on 12900, the game has a 240 framecap

Him getting terrible 1% lows could be due to unstable fclk. when you push it hard and it's unstable you get masdive stuttering. Enabling expo and running the default 1.3v soc expo often cases fclk to stutter as it hates high soc voltage, but some cpus can handle it fine, very individual.

Only ran around for 15-20m before deleting it but the games anti cheat ignores my motherboard settings and process lasso. Too lazy to disable a CCD to benchmark a game I'm never going to play to see if I can replicate that youtube guys experience lol.

No, no dlss.

I don't know, even on my system I see spikes up to 130w - the highest I've seen on any game.

I ran outside a while now, worst drop I saw was 233fps with 1080p highest 60% res scale. Utilization is anywhere from 30-50%. I can upload video later.

Yeah, unless there is something bugged out with rendering the UI at 4k it shouldn't matter as long as CPU limited.... I was seeing 220-240 and it wasn't even using the 3D CCD. At least for me it was only really using 1 core though according to process lasso.

Maybe they patched it? The video is 3 weeks old or something.

Are you past the scene where you fly with an eagle? That's where the tutorial ends.

Well here is my pal's 7800X3D stock perf

Will try some CO tweaking like @Taraquin suggested

That's still the tutorial. Keep going

Looks like 7800X3D works fine, there are some shader compilation stutters but overall it's smooth enough I guess

Yeah seems like there is stuttering, try ultra settings, that's what the guy was using

Is the cpu usage high or is it just chilling?

CPU usage is around 20% when standing still but spikes to 100% when running around, could also be due to other players nearby

No, havent found the eagle. Will try later.

I'm not sure what you mean by best thermals possible, as the uncore voltages within reason don't really affect thermals much and RAM would obviously depend on what you test to be stable. And CO is also impossible to say as there is known appreciable variances from chip to chip. Also not confident enough to say if CO alone can create massive temp reductions as it once did on 5800X3D.

VSOC as low as possible without penalizing performance of any kind or causing iGPU artifacting or other problems. Probably looking at somewhere between 1.0-1.2V for 6000. Using iGPU actively for display output affects VSOC requirements. The FCLK you want to run can also affect your choice of VSOC (both the way you'd expect, but also possibly inversely as high VSOC can inhibit stable high FCLK).

VDDIO_MEM_S3 can start at 1.25V as a safe estimate I think. 1.35V is also fine for me but idk if that's a generally safe recommendation.

Don't think VDD_MISC needs to budge from 1.1V usually

afaik VDDP is similar to on AM4 and can stay at 0.9-1.0V in normal use case.

DDR5 voltages should work the same way as they do on Intel.
Just some food for thought, it's a ryzen 7600 but the voltage ranges will depend mostly on silicon lottery

This was your latest post so I'm replying to this one. Your cpu clocks at 4.2ghz are crap mate for a 7800X3D.
I have the same cpu, and I run at VSOC 1.30v when gaming, or VSOC 1.25v if I want to lower the voltage.
I'm lucky to have a A-DIE DDR5 ram kit running at CL28 6200 MT/s FCLK 2133 MHz. (brand of DDR RAM Teamforce Delta)

I run this CPU with PBO ON advanced , you can try auto or mobo limits. You always want to run a CO negative per curve and not all core.
Let me know if you have any questions.

Your CPU has a max clock up to 5050 MHz, and to achive that you will need an AIO water cooler. Get a 360 3x fans one. Good luck mate!

Yeah I already handed over the PC to my friend, who will bring it to another county, so I prefer that it is 100% stable :D

My friend is going to play games at 4K (first order of business for him is Black Myth Wukong), so CPU and RAM don't really matter too much anyways. The 7800X3D is still a formidable gaming CPU at 4.2ghz and the best efficiency out there.

I already tested Wukong on his PC, 4K Cinematic RT OFF + DLSS Balanced + Frame Gen and it get around 100FPS, entire system pulling 250W, he would be happy :D

look like you have mounted your cooler the wrong way (cooler offset)

Specs say ID-Cooling SE-226-XT + Phanteks T30

My pal finally finished setting up his PC

Man he went for 4K 240hz OLED screen, so the 4080S is kinda under-powered
