INNOCN 32M2V

Nope

Fell for 4k at $300cad with an adjustable stand. Been using it now for over 4 years, haven't found anything to replace/upgrade it yet..............in the budget anyway...............
I mean, you didn't list this monitor's HDR as a difference because the one you linked to supports HDR10. You seem to think they're the same think, when they're really not.

IMO any mini-LED monitor need hardware button that turns on/off local dimming

I don't do HDR, so I didn't list it.

You made a blanket statement, with no reference to personal value or needs:
so 160hz refresh rate and mini led backlighting is a $700 extra

That is factually wrong. Faster refresh rate, mini-led backlighting and HDR support are $700 extra.

I was considering buying one of these but not if it can't seamlessly switch between HDR and SDR. That would become a daily headache.
I own this monitor and I think it's a mistake in the review.
The toggle for HDR in the monitors settings doesn't force HDR. It allows HDR.
You still control SDR/HDR in Windows or other source device the same as you do normally with any other HDR TV or monitor. @Inle

Mmmm, I can't stand any black images that aren't black, so OLED is my only option going forward, that being said, I am not paying $1000+ for something that doesn't even nearly cost that much to manufacture, get bent.

I love scary games like Alien Isolation and other Sci-Fi space games like Freelancer / Star Citizen, etc etc.

I hope they sort out the brightness levels / burn in issues with the 3rd gen panels that will launch next year for now the price / risk ratio just doesn't make sense to me.

This is a big problem, right? ....and it comes down to more than just the display; Windows 11 is bad at managing HDR, Windows 10 is a complete disaster, and if your hardware isn't completely automatic about HDR it's yet another variable that you have to manage on top of the application/game in question, the GPU driver, and the OS all getting things wrong on the fly.

Don't even talk to me about fullscreen vs fullscreen windowed! ;)

Hello everyone,

Thank you for the review.

I would connect an Xbox Series X to the monitor.
Is that possible without any problems? Or should I consider certain settings?
Is HDR not switched on automatically on the Xbox Series X? As described in the review when using it with Windows.

Thank you in advance for your support.

Regards
Carlo

The fact that local dimming can only be on during hdr mode is a huge deal breaker for me. Why would I spend close to 1k on a monitor than doesn't give me a boost in picture quality over a similar unit without local dimming ( there's plenty of 32 ips monitors out there for much less).

At least the cheap aoc 27 inch mini led allows for dimming in sdr, making a huge difference in contrast. ...and the monitor costs less than 300. Surely this is perfectly feasible to do in an $800+.... perhaps they figured that they're in some fantasy world where SDR content no longer exists.... Sounds like laziness by the company.

Hard pass.

This isn't true, you can toggle local dimming off and on in SDR.
What you can't do is toggle it on and off when using HDR.

Not sure this is because it carries the setting over for SDR to HDR or if it just forces it on in HDR.

In HDR it's greyed out and shows the same setting you set it to in SDR.

This is a mistake in the review, you do not need to toggle HDR on and off.
