getting error while flashing rx6600xt bios into rx6600 card

im having this error over and over. tried every version and even on linux. anyone can help me with this? the purpose is for further oc

Maybe something is trying to protect your card from being bricked and useless?

This is bad idea

The 6600 and 6600XT have different VRAM chips 14 vs 16Gbps chips
The 14 probably will not be able to run as 16…

And 6600 GPU has some compute units disabled against the 6600XT. Trying to reenabled them (don’t know if can be done anyway) or just giving the GPU a VBIOS that was not meant for it can lead to bricked card.

Why on earth are you trying to do this. To gain 2 more FPS?

The bios you are trying to flash is broken don't use it.

Please post a picture of the white sticker labels on the card here so we know what you are dealing with.

Also XFX and others only release bios if there is a problem and overclocking is not a problem.

Who knows why they try to do this, it is really not necessary anymore and hasn't been since after Vega.

Some card companies did release a bios update which increased the bandwidth from 14 Gbps (1750 MHz * 8) to 16 Gbps (2000 MHz * 8)

GDDR6 is octapumped since GDDR5 was quad pumped hence the clock speeds not really changing

i gave up, it can oc beyond 2700mhz in amd software. and yes, it was trying to stop me from bricking the card, i edited the .rom file using ImHax to fool amdvbflash and flash it. got unrecoverable error, thankfully it does have a dualbios switch. i wont try someting like it again ever. fixed the dead bios using an linuxOS. nextgen games is driving me crazy, i dont really need more than 60fps :slap:

Flashing BIOS onto a card that belongs to a different card can (and most certainly will) brick it. Ah well, lesson learned. :)
