I thought i would move this to its own Forum post ,as it is such a interesting subject.
Have any of you used the GreaseWeazle?
Greaseweazle: A hardware device that allows you to read and write Amiga floppy disks on a Windows machine. It’s compatible with Windows 11 and has been tested with WinUAE emulation.
And why are there so many Amigo floppy disks about?
I have got this kit ,weather or not i can get any of the 24 discs to work or not is another thing, after seeing that video with Michael trying all those Windows floppy discs with only three working.I have seen thee
1 * GreaseWeazle with 3D printed case.
1 * 34-pin floppy data cable(Straight)
1 * 4-pin power cable(5V)
1 * USB Type-B cable
1 * Molex connector
GreaseWeazle-firmware-1.5 Programmed!
I just saw these 24 floppys for £15 the seller has sent me a offer for £12.50 i think i will take a chance.Amiga/PC Floppy disks Bundle Of X23 *UNTESTED* Most of them are i official discs .Can you play demo discs? The Kit cost £22.All but one are origanal disks in this bundle, and a head cleaner,I have bought them for £12.I am taking a risk as to any of them working.
It seems a lot to it o_OI don,t know why the kit did not come with a twisted cable rather than the non twisted version.o_O

This just feels more like a novelty museum gadget than anything relevant to today's PCs.

Lots of guys/peeps love the old school tech they grew on. Like everything in life you find a way to keep using it.

i bought 24 disks a couple of years ago, i did not know they could not be played on a Windows floppy drive.I wondered how i could convert them so they could be played on a windows floppy drive.I have seen the videos on youtube how to changes the pins on the drives so they could be played ,but that seemed a bit to much for me.I was in the proces of throwing them out and then i saw the video i put on here about the GreaseWeazle, and thought i would give it a go.Weather or not i can get it to work is another thing. o_O

Even if you can read the disks you will need an Amiga emulator. The programs are not PC compatible.

The guy in the video was playing them in Windows. And Mr Amiga Chris said this in my question to him about it said.
*works with winUAE so windows yes!*

I think winUAE is an emulator. But yeah you can do that.

The OP originally mentioned it in the Nostalgia thread. However, that is new tech designed to interface between newer PCs and older media. Very useful if you need the functionality.

It is. It's an Amiga emulator/simulator for Windows. The name stands for "Windows Universal Amiga Emulator".

Yeah, I have used PCBway to make custom circuit boards. They did good. No complaints. Fast. Cheap.
I have also made my own circuit boards using the photo resist and chemical etch process. Surprisingly, PCBway wasn't much slower and was inexpensive enough, that I don't know why I would ever make my own PCB again, unless just for the fun of it. PCBway makes proper vias too, which is superior.
