What's your latest tech purchase?

btw you can do a test on your system via windows settings itself. It also helps with calibrating the joysticks and other analog controls
thanks i did that, i didn't know it could calibrate. Will check in games later if left stick is more precise because deadzone was little higher than normal.

What are your other options? That controller just seems shady as hell to me. I don't even know if I would risk letting it connect to my computer.
btw, it looks alot better than box art so don't judge a book by it's cover :p
i didn't post the images of the controller itself because i have been previously mocked for having flake bits on my computer table so here is how it looks anyway.

those pictures actually really do look nice, the box art is doing a disservice to that controller

it also has rgb which i have turned off because i don't like those, same with my speakers.

Caps for an old motherboard.

Another part arrived for my "retro gaming" PC (i.e. the What can I do with all of these parts that I stripped out of 2 dead computers).

Got it really cheap ($34) - and that is because it appears to be an open box, rather than new. Everything is there, except for the bubble wrap around the PSU. Looks like a buyer's remorse return.

I will test it out Thursday, when my Power Supply tester shows up.

I am Ready for Haswell.
It's older, but it's still a solid PSU.

banned in india :D
Oh man, I didn't know that. Sorry. Amazon maybe? 8BitDo should have a presence in India, it's a huge tech market!

Not quite a purchase, as I got it for free, but I'll prob build another system with this as an HTPC or some.

well ... i, hum ... bought a

ah whatever, i don't care about game vs license drama, it was less than 8$

Middle earth Shadow of Mordor (GOTY with the 27 DLC include) and Shadow of War (7 DLC include)
View attachment 369273

worth the wait to get both at that price :D

also one of the best song from Miracle of Sound by Gavin Dunne in 2014 was inspired by Shadow of Mordor (after a fan request)
hard vocal version is my preference ;)
i listened to it so much without even playing the game that i could sing it in a Karaoke if i did not hate that
That Game series is excellent. The first is like a 3D Action RPG and the 2nd is like a Total War Game brought to 3D. Great picks and sweet price too.

yeah, i know and that's totally why i waited so long ... i am a budget gamer, even tho LotR is a franchise i love... i can't stomach full prices
i got LotR Battle for Middle Earth II physical for 6$ in a local brick'n mortar shop because of that :)
(tho i got LotR Online Collector physical edition as a birthday gift from my Ex, day one :D )

incoming:

after finding my old GBA SP i decided ...

to get a cable
3ce040447fb2360d906876006b98ae04_proc.jpg
since the original PSU is long lost
and

go full patriot and sea faring

the super card will serve as "aggregated library" since i will rip all the roms from cartridges i own in one uSD card ;) ( and the EVA02 back sticker : because why not ;) )
well more Privateer than Pirate ;) as far as the "YAAAAARRRRH!" sea faring kind go.

well ... i still owned the original of these one

but i can't find them ... so... why not eh...

another why not :
S9ffe018c0ede40adb60fdb11ea05e40d0.jpg
2230 NVMe SSD copper heatsink, "Graphene"? well ... if it works, it works... (until i save enough for a 4 or 8 tb 2280 ) for my Ally

more cheap DAC for my collection ... i thought i missed a Realtek ALC5686 one ... but turns out the Riksoin i bought before was one, tho it's a USB-C to 3.5 male, so... Jcally to the rescue for the USB-C to 3.5 female :D
uitz.jpg

next sub 30chf IEMs ... triple DDs 2 inline +1, and taking it one step further with the cute art not being only on the box and acrylic stand but also on the faceplates ;)

the packaging is promising ... and based from the reviews i saw ... promising too (4/5 on average)

i've heard of CVJ since the Angel Wings IEMs, a friend bought them recently, which sound quite good, which lead me to order the Night Elf, we will see ... or hear ... rather ;)

and a few odd S23 shells ...

i know i know ... boring AI art ... but hey!!! i have one Lucyna Kushinada from Edge Runner in my collection now!
be honest ... how many of you did not know the full name of Lucy?

ah... and i got

After wasting money on Jabratalk 15SE....decided to bite the bullet and get one of the Cadillacs in handsfree: Voyager V5200 . Didn't know there are four versions. Appranetly I have the most basic one. Next one is UC: includes charging case and a Bluetooth dongle. Aliexpress to DA rescue :), got a knck-off case from there for ~€16 . This is one is more expensive than my headphones on the PC...

I have both the plantronics bw3300 and the jabra evolve2 30, i honestly prefer the jabra for its comfort. the poly one looks nicer and follows my office's colour scheme i guess.

Didn't even notice the numerous Klevv reviews on TPU when they were published. Very informative when I found them recently.

Had one of them, it fell apart after close to two years. I do assume they don't make them as they used to, most of the glowing reviews are quite old at this point. Prior to that I had the the now discontinued Plantronics Explorer 500, and it was wonderful. Better sound quality and close to as good call quality, and they were €50. Unfortuntatly I had them in the washing machine. Thankfully my job has shifted a bit so I'm not as much on the phone so now I just use the phone as a phone. BTW, you know a really good headset for calls? AirPods.

I got the Poly C5220 for like €25 (new in box!) during the pandemic, I use them for video calls (mostly RPG stuff) and they're great, especially the mic. They're not as comfortable as my regular headphones, but OTOH I only take them out when I need them, so they're not as worn in.

The mic's on these corpo grade headsets are really amazing.

Finally! ❤️

Received and delivered fast. Ordered from Anbernic on 23rd Oct and delivered to UK on 29th.

I've spent two straight hours glued to this retro immersed handheld (Anbernic CubeXX) and I’m actually floored. This thing has more games than i knew existed - the 80s and 90s all bundled together in the palm of my hand! Three weeks ago, I thought good quality emulation was something astronauts did in space and now I’m sitting here like a kid in a candy store.

Everything at stock works seamlessly. Zero issues encountered. Feels very comfortable in the hands. Great screen real estate and image quality. The product images do it justice, it feels just as premium in hand. I could go on... but I have zero experience in trying out other handhelds, so any feedback will be just my fresh impressions as a newcomer.

No doubt... one of my fav tech purchases of late.

They're pretty nice, right? If you have problems with games in the Game Room, try the RA Game Room (RetroArch). I started playing Link's Awakening DX (GBC) and it was basically unplayable in the Game Room, but the RetroArch emulators are much better so there it's flawless. (i have the RG35XX Plus btw)
