I am not sure if this is a software or internet issue really because this started around Wednesday/Thursday last week where youtube videos longer than a movie trailer starts endlessly buffering after 1min of video playtime.

I tried with Floorp by Ablaze and Brave it doesn't matter if I try without adblockers like Ghostery or uBlock Origin in Floorp or built in Brave disable them doesn't help.

I also tried changing dns server over from my isp to Quad9 (9.9.9.9) and flush dns in Windows 11 Pro or LTSC doesn't help :wtf:

One thing I always use "Private window/Incognito" so I do not have any youtube cache so remove from the browsers tested with I am not sure what I can do to fix this.

I can download from youtube using MediaHuman Youtube Downloader just fine everything download and works and it's really fast downloading so it's not a speed issue.

After awhile if I keep the video on youtube open I just get this message:

So if anyone have an idea why I would love to try it out this happens on my Lenovo ThinkPad T14 G2 running Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC and my Lenovo ThinkCentre M720q Tiny running Windows 11 Pro both are fully updated.

I'm on windows 10 pro and have the same issue. Started a month back where it would only happen rarely and closing the browser (I clear most cached data and cookies on close) or open in a new container (firefox) solved the problem. Since a couple of days ago I can't get any video to work properly anymore. No idea whats up with that.

@DarkDreams I am at work now running Windows 10 fully updated on a Lenovo ThinkCentre M93q Tiny using Floorp and uBlock Origin and I do not have this problem watching the same video it even works in Brave just fine.

This is sadly on a business fibre and I am using coax at home since the same isp has fucked up big time running out of capacity at 9 out of 10 centrals in my city :banghead:

So I might need to get in touch with my isp to heard if there is something they can do maybe a backend reset maybe cache because long ago when I had this issue I asked and got told they did a reset backend of something I believe it was just a cache reset.

It's just tiring to deal with these things.

just checked. works. mobile internet (router to pc), win 10 21h2 ltsc, edge browser (Spark Youtube Adblock, TubeBlock , other yt adblocker;))

Probably yet another adblocker issue (YT really wants you to watch these ads). Had the exact same thing a long time ago, and it got solved for a awhile after I switched my old blocker to ublock origin. Few months down the road same issue popped up, and only affected chrome and brave. I've tried lots of things, including different adblockers, switching DNS etc.etc.etc. , but the only thing that worked is friggin' buying YT premium.

This doesn't really sound like a Windows issue. Maybe browser? I've been hearing so much about YouTube shutting down blockers but I only use edge and ublock and never have issues.

W11 24H2 LTSC, Pro and Home never gave me trouble either. LTSC on all 3 of my devices now.

The same thing happens when ad-blockers are disabled even removed it from Floorp so I am not sure what's going on.

I am using uBlock Origin in Floorp and Brave at work in Windows 10 Pro and it works just fine so not sure.

Not sure when it's between 2 computers both local accounts, no sync even in browsers.

That's not what I meant though, did you try any browsers that weren't those two?

And being LTSC, windows would be just about the last one on the list of culprits since pretty much nothing gets changed with updates

I don't have any other browsers installed on the these 2 computers.

On the M720q with Windows 11 Pro I removed Edge because I never use it honestly.

Never had any problems with Win11/Firefox on both of my PCs, even 4K60 plays smoothly without issues. Sounds hella weird that if it's an OS issue..?

Yea YouTube going in berserk mode over AD blockers so it's starts to destroy they own code because of it......since few days ago If I want to leave a comment on YouTube my txt will appear always as black in dark mode which is crazy as I can't see what I am writing.....

So I tried on a different PC in the same house and that one works no problem. Also uses Windows 10 Firefox with ublock just like mine. Even after completely disabling ublock and watching ads for half a minute the video still broke at the 1 minute mark. Private browser window doesn't work either. I'm completely clueless what this might be.

FF and ublock origin never fails on me.

This. Just this. Don't bother investing any energy in Google's panic mode. Just avoid the service until they rein themselves in.

Every time I visit YT I'm appalled by the way it comes on screen, intermittent black screen, refreshing itself rapidly three times to get around whatever Google doesn't like happening on a free internet, then I have to click past an Accept All accompanied by a huge wall of text, and then STILL the website isn't done, it reloads again, trying to kill off adblock and play a 20-30 second advertisement before I've even seen a second of what I was looking for. It fails. I see the video anyway and not the ad.

GTFO with that shit, honestly, I've come to avoid YT now if I ever can. It was Google who wanted to float their business model on ads alone, not us. Its still not my problem they can't keep their services up because ads are simply just plain annoying, always have been, and I will avoid them wherever I can. But trying to wreck browsers and companies to push your ads past them and user preferences is... yuck.

I doesn't at work but at home it does.

I have now tried the newest Google Chrome on my M720q it's the same 1min playtime and buffering

What's going on here.

No change from using a VPN/warp?

Yep + all the BS censorship YT clearly intentionally steady but slowly destroying our freedom of speech.....I finding myself watching more and more Rumble and Odysee instead.....
P.S.Best AD blocker for YT is AD Guard adblocker at least that works for me on Edge

Check your internet connection through different tests, do a latency check to youtube. Does

It could be that Youtube are doing something to their backend. Ive experienced this before and the issue went away after a few days.

Since early fall I've had multiple times similar issue of video playing back for some time correctly and then just paralyzing.
Though in last couple weeks haven't had them.

And especially if you're trying to find something specific and checking multiple videos that ad bombardment gets annoying fast...
At least in TV other channel doesn't automatically send ads when I switch to it if not liking program on the first channel!

No it's still the same using a VPN. I guess I will need to stick to downloading what I want to see of youtube really annoying because I can't watch everything at work.

I had the same issue on Windows 11 LTSC. I thought it was coming from Windows as it has the same issues with others browsers (Firefox, Chrome, Edge).

My fix:
It seems that youtube had a change with their google analytics api.
The following domain was previously blocked by a filter on my DNS(pihole) : "jnn-pa.googleapis.com" ('Sites use it to store and manage user consents." Is it still the case nowadays?)
After whitelisting this domain, everything on youtube is back to normal. So they definitely have made some changes. I doubt anything good for us.

I do not have a iphole I use my isp's router since I am on coax and I gave up using my own router on coax years ago since it's just easier troubleshooting when something is wrong using the isp's router than a router in bridge mode acting like a modem and my own router.

So I am not sure if there is a filter somewhere in LTSC for this

I don't think LTCS should have that kind of filter. Maybe a software that was installed? But I doubt it.
Have you tried another DNS provider than Quad9? Maybe you could try cloudflare/google dns for testing. Don't forget to force refresh when testing a youtube page (ctrl + f5).
You could also tried to go through your phone FAI temporary via its hotspot to eliminate any issue that might come from your home network.

Good luck finding a solution! I would love to avoid youtube, but sometimes you can't.

Hey thanks that worked for me. I had it in my hosts file. @Shou Miko maybe you use a hosts (System32/drivers/etc/hosts) filter as well?
