RTX 5060 reportedly sticks to 8GB nice! :)

It just happens every now and then on a leap year that certain combinations don't make sense. can't have 192bit and GDDR7 on a smaller than 200mm2 chip. GTX 1060 did have 3 and 6GB variants, but imagine the excess bandwidth with GDDR7 that would create or the waste of 16GB, you can have non-binary 24Gbit memory chips now. just not yet, maybe next year. Too quick to jump and judge.

Those 3gb memory chips can't arrive soon enough, this needs at least 12GB now. Hopefully people vote with their wallets.

Simple, don't buy their stuff, go with a Radeon or a Battlemage. Problem Solved.

how is this any different from AMD? the 7600 has 8gb and the 7600xt 16gb?

5060 8GB is already DOA because Intel killed it. Fffhahahaha!
I'm just gonna say it out loud...
We all see the scummy shit that happened naming these cards a whole class higher than deserved.
The whole reason the 5060 exists is because there will NEVER be a 5050. You know why?
Because it's 50/50 that people are gonna buy that absolute garbage!

remember though: $3000 for a top end GPU is a steal of a deal that some of our high IQ members here seem to think.

So be prepared to open your wallet for more than $400 for these 8GB cards. At least in every country outside of USA.

I'll be the first to stand up and applaud Intel for giving us an affordable and versatile GPU that has a great future ahead of itself, but performance-wise, it's not quite there yet. The B770 is going to be the card to look after, but I expect that one to be at least $400 (still a great price). These are 1080p gaming cards, and the RTX 5060 is gonna smoke it, just like the 4060 does.

Because you are comparing this gen v. next gen. If AMD releases another 8GB card against the 5060 it'll be a dust collector. Any next gen card that cost more than $199 with 8GB will be a ripoff. Intel has figured it out, AMD had better as well.

It won't... if it's priced well and performs decently, it's going to sell just as well as the RX 6600 did. This is actually the market where AMD buyers actually target most of the time and I guarantee they aren't gonna complain if there's an 8 GB, $199 card that performs at this level and brings RDNA 4 feature set to them. And AMD might be in a position to deliver it this generation.

Wait, Arc A580 is bad. Of course it is.

Having ran out of VRAM in two then-new games in a row (Forza 8, The Crew Motorfest) near the end of 2023 with a 3070, in 1080p non-RT non-ultra settings no less, good luck marketing the 5060, I guess.

Hahahahah i missed that big time. I suppose I'm also guilty of going on autopilot sometimes, I look like a fool. I picked it out from the wrong tab :nutkick:

Updating post (misinformation by error is still misinformation), but truth be told not much changes. It's still not going to match up in most situations, the B580 performs very similarly to the A770, and that's a card on the level of the 8 GB 7600 and 4060 as well.

Performance where and for who? The A580 sucks, given. B580 gives nVidia and AMD a serious kick in the balls that's hopefully painful enough to stop this stupid ass race to the bottom with "entry" level cards.
Most of the creators that picked these up are kicking ass even if we're just able to see them game at 1080p60. The other details don't matter because at the end of the day, the job goes BRRRRR.

choose with wallet and perfect time for amd and intel to push hard.

VRAM baby, give me more.

Its almost 2025 and hints of the future are not good for 8GB cards

16GB should be the lowest entry point for anything that costs 3 digit if you want to keep your GPU for longer than at best one generation.

i do agree, but it's very idiotic to test this cards on epic settings (completely irrelevant and pointless setting, and HU even made a video about it), and get shit framerates anyway even if you have 16GB

Sometimes memory count doesn't matter if the card doesn't have enough horsepower, Looking at you 4070Ti.

it's a balance problem, some cards are really badly balanced, either because of price, vram, horsepower, etc... all they want is to make as many skus as possible just so there is a card for every price point
maybe i'm biased but i don't think it was this bad in the past

and some reviewers, testers, influencers also don't help with stupid tests

It was worse.

Lets not forget the GTS 8800 320/640.. There are other example too, but this one still sticks out.

sure there were always cases, but today you have generations in AMD and Nvidia with several cards that are just absolutely shit (for diverse reasons) and pointless, waste of sand. Like i said maybe it's my biases, we tend to focus more on the present on these things.

like i said they want to sell you card for the exact amount of money you have in your wallet.
