What are you playing?

It's pretty good. I already did 2 playthroughs: original and adventurer. Original mode requires you to avoid fear and darkness, plus it has occasional enemies that may get you every once in awhile, but are easy to avoid. Adventurer mode has none of that, but it has few more puzzles.
If you played SOMA and liked it - this one is even better.
I also bought The Bunker on sale, but haven't played it yet.
I actually do have SOMA but haven't played that as well. Aren't the Penumbra games similar? I have also them and I remember trying Black Plague and liked that.

Yes and kinda.
Gameplay-wise it's similar throughout all frictional games titles, but the setting and story is different. I also have all Penumbra games, followed the project since the very first tech demo release (even did a localization for it as a weekend project). If you like puzzle adventures and horror games - you should definitely play all of them.

Just let me survive from the hangover I'll be getting from these beers I'm having now, I could start from Penumbras after that. :)

Started playing Manor Lords. I hate buying "Early Access" but this one is pretty far along and is "Platinum" on the Steam Deck. Runs great and is a lot of fun if you like RTS city building/domination games. It has a lot more development in progress but still worth it on sale.

But that's the best way to play horror games :D

I remember back in college we used to hang out at my classmates house. And believe it or not, on the new year's eve, we've decided to test drive his DIY 2.1 sound system with big-ass sub by playing a recently released F.E.A.R. We've already downed several liters of moonshine by that point. So, the first couple of intervals went well, with few jumscares now and then, but once we got to the "blood corridor", he flipped backwards off the chair as soon as Alma jumped out.
BTW, another awesome game series worth replaying.

Anyways, happy new year everyone!:toast:

Played some Lord of the Rings Return to Moria and in the introduction the performance is horrible. Starfield runs better.

Last week I "finished" Dredge, and it's a really solid little game. In fact I have to go back and actually finish it (as in find all the stuff not in the "main" quest) just to find out more about it. It's really quite good.

Let's start an another FF challenge, this time it's FFX HD with initial equipment. :)

Made me remember I rigged two stereo speakers, the other one connected to rear channel to simulate surround, when the door slam shut on rear speaker on this game made me turn my head around, this game does use EAX it's one of the games that have good positioning audio. Good times :D

I been replaying Half Life 2 on my retro PC (yes, the original 2004 release) for that year the facial animation is top notch even by today standard.

Gone back to playing DL2, had to quit it last time cause' the grappling hook doesn't work like a grappling hook should. Had to get a mod to fix it... don't like not completing a game, I paid for it, want my $ worth!

I just bought the Indiana Jones game because of the hardware requirements. With supreme and ultra settings was getting a solid 55-60FPS at 3840x2160 with no upscaling.

Kind of kicking myself for not getting Stalker, but that will be my next game.

Natlan sucks.

God, I miss the AI system in FEAR. It was not that advanced by itself but really good map design and a few clever behavioral tricks made it formidable in practice (enemies faked attacks on you while actually flanking/ambushing you, etc). I wish more games with linear levels used the work that Monolith did for this game.

Long as they don't break the game but I get warnings before starting the game that the files have changed & am I sure this is what I want...

I've just finished Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice. Man, what a wave of emotions!  I can't remember the last time I cried at the ending of a game. Easily 10/10.

Although, my mum's sudden and unexpected passing at the age of 58 just two months ago might have swayed my perception a bit. Maybe I played this game a bit too soon? :(

Condolences on your loss. I don't know your situation but I personally think you played it at exactly the right time. My grandmother passed away from a chronic condition while I was halfway through Life is Strange and the ending of that game helped me with my grief long-term.

Accidentally'd my way into top 150 on leaderboard of FH5 Hide and Seek again.

As has become tradition I happened to choose a less desirable vehicle and drive it very poorly during the match with person responsible for this game mode in my lobby (catchphrase implied). Otherwise my rise through the ranks, again, has granted me chance to match my abilities with some of the best players in the game.

Just finished Timespinner (on PSVita, but available on mostly platforms).
It's a Metroidvania game from a little studio.
In fact, it's one of the best Symphony of the Night clone, very well done, made with passion and serious.
Even the "Castle" passage near the end has got a very Castlevania music, a great hommage for sure.
When I say "clone" it's for the better, you have orbs system, (weapons made by magic), and even a familiar with you.
Lunais, the heroine, move the same as Alucard, you'll fell at home if you like SOTN !
It's a short game (7.5 hours for me), why don't give it a try ?

Got frustrated with AMS2 (for now) so I loaded up TWWH3 and that Game is kryptonite. Once again I have every legendary Lord and using Imrik is so much fun when you don't worry about long range artillery because 4 Dragons in your army are that Good. Then you get the rest of the legendary lords and remember that Teclis has some intense Magic. Of course I have increased his Winds of Magic by 50 with buffs. He is currently with Eltharion as we deal with a Chaos Dwarf problem. Meanwhile on Ulthuan we are taking back our home from Greenskins, Slanesh,Dark Elves and Norsca with Tyrion and Belennar. The best thing about TWWH is the mods.

These Games get too hard. I am not 16 anymore so my timing is not what it was lol.

I feel you so hard on this. I would love to play the Dark Soul games and Elden Ring just to explore the world building and environments. But with my skill, I barely get past the first boss usually and I don't have the time to brute-force these games and my reflexes are not what they used to be.

Really wish there was a "easy" or "story" mode on games that actually was EASY.

I feel with you both. I play games for the atmosphere and story, to wind down, to quit thinking about everyday life for a while. The last thing I want after a day at work is a keyboard smashing challenge.

Edit: This is why I'm not into super high refresh, super high performance, either. A steady 50-60 FPS is good enough for me.
