Half a million guyana dollars lol, im sorry but nvidia and msi have lost their god damn minds especially for a gpu barely hitting 60fps at 4k in bmw. If the 5080 isn't at or above 4090 performance this generation is a bust.

Not just that. In the teardown section, the text is the same as the air Suprim and doesn't apply to the Liquid:

The main heatsink provides cooling for the memory GPU, memory chips and VRM circuitry. It uses a large vapor-chamber base with eleven heatpipes.

I specifically tested for this—MSI's pump will stop in idle, which means there is no pump noise at all as long as the card in fan-stop mode. In the past the constant hum of the pump was my biggest criticism for watercooling—not a problem on the MSI Suprim Liquid!

Generally not a very good idea, if the pump is too slow to respond the temperature can heat up the water locally to such an extent that it warps the plastics, hopefully they tested it thoroughly.

Switch to a different PSU and your coil whine will be gone or worse or appear/disappear on a different card. I'm not aware of a way to properly test it

Currently all are 360 mm rad unfortunately. I already got the Moctec sky gx case that fits 2x 360mm rads.

I did change psu and all whining stops
Its Gpu related or Psu+Gpu related sometimes.
every gpu is unique tho.

The silent mode BIOS is the default, so that's what I tested for out of the box performance. Hiding the "Turbo Mode" behind a manual activation isn't cool

Is that air cooler for VRMs? VRAMs appear under the cold plate but VRMs don't.

They charge $500 more on a card that's already $2000, and still can't liquid cool the VRMs? The card itself so unnecessarily bulky.

The VRAM temperature isn't great either considering it's under liquid cooled copper.

It is what it is, they're shafting consumers with money who wont put a block on it themselves, of course for this price you'd expect a full coverage block but this card is a dream for AIBs, they can rip you off like crazy.

I thought they had a bios switch button that just toggled between the two...then the stupid 10hz extra going into MSI Center...I feel like it's not doing the card justice not switching to performance. I understand the reasoning for the out of box performance but maybe an extra line on the graphs would be nice with the notation of performance mode and how to activate it....and it might change the fan/pump curves so there is that

I wonder how it compares to MSI's. Looks like Nvidia's block covers the entire thing, and isn't using a fan on the card itself.

Do we know when Gigabyte AIB benchmarks are expected? Apparently Gigabyte has some delays with sending out review samples?
