Which thermal paste never pumps out?

Hello I both used arctic mx-4 and thermal grizzly aeronaut in my laptop but both are pumped out after 3 months..
Some folks claim that CPU and GPU have to have different thermal compound due to pump out effect . Is that true? Which paste should I buy? I just want an "apply and forget" type thermal paste.
Ps. My question is not only about laptop but also desktop CPU and GPU.

If pump out was such a big issue in my system, I'd look at the Thermal Grizzly Kryosheet.
 
Get some of the phase-change thermal pads. They (ostensibly) will outlast just about anything else. I've used it quite a lot lately. easy to work with. Temps are good.

I've never had a bit of issue with pump-out with prolimatech pk-3

I have had great results with Honeywell's PTM7950 pad, though it can be hard to get the genuine stuff. I believe Linus sells genuine stuff on their store.

It dropped the thermals on my laptop considerably, my 2080 Super now runs at 71°c while gaming, down from about 85. The CPU still hits 95, but does so while boosting nearly 500mhz higher.

Due to the phase change properties, it lasts essentially forever, as instead of pumping out it simply re-solidifies when cold.

Just grab some PTM. I think I mentioned in your previous thread, but if Honeywell isn’t readily available wherever you are search for some Thermalright Heilos pads - same in terms of performance and I find can be found easier. For any applications where pump out is a concern (high wattage GPUs primarily) I don’t really see a point for going with ANY conventional paste these days.
 
As others are recommending, PTM7950, etc. have become the Gold Standard in TIM.
My one successful application on my R5 5600, drastically dropped temps over MX4 (5-9c after 'bake in').

Most-all thermal *paste* can/will thermally migrate when used with extremely watt-dense silicon.
That said, I did put some research into this recently (as, my last 3 attempts at applying PTM went poorly ('kept failing my dex rolls :laugh:))

ID-Cooling Frost X45
and
Thermalright TF9
are both top performing *pastes* that have high viscosities and are purported to well-resist pumpout.

Last cooler remount, I used X45. Previous to that, I glorped on MX4. The MX4 had already migrated some in just a month's time

It might be argued that thermal paste that dries does not suffer pump out.

Plausible use, yes. But, they're usually made with 'white oil' (mineral oil), that will run out under thermal cycling.
Now, for a thermal pad/putty OtOH... Maybe mix diaper rash cream w/ washed and dried clay from the back yard? :laugh:

need the lucas papaw..........well used to be a lot better, looks mostly like vaseline reading the ingredients now.

Desitin or diaper ointment is great for it, heck I got dermatitis from a part washer tank's varsol, which got in my glove and it absorbed on the back of my hand causing a burn, after putting that stuff on it healed the back of my hand.

There is no such thermal paste from a tube.

Use either a phase change pad or Thermal Grizzly Kryosheet on a direct die application.

Paste on a IHS is fine.

I use that on both my 4070 Ti and Intel NUC.

Stock temps again that will never degrade.

Just kapton tape a border around the CPU/GPU and you're good.
 
PTM replaced all the pastes for me, I prefer the tube (siring) version but it is still hard to apply. It has no pumpout effect and lasts long.
 

From my experience over the last two decades.
Thermalright TFX lasted over two years on a very hot 3090 and now we have Duronaut und PTM Sheets.
i would recommend either the thermal grizzly phase sheet (because this is at least not a chinese fake PTM7950) or Duronaut/TFX.

Another vote for TFX. Fantastic performance and longevity. My 7800X3D is still happily running on its first application almost 2 years later.
