Hi

Someone brought a RX590 GME which used for mining and amd driver wouldn't install on it.
I tired many Bios on site but most of them had diffrent hw-id and couldn't program them.
2 unverified files flashed wich graphic has no change and drivers does not support it.

(Already tried dual bios swich; no changes, didn't worked)

Attached photos of Graphic, Label and Gpu-Z

Any help appreciated.

If you take a look in our "Unverified" section in the GPU database you will find some, these downloads in the unverified section just have not been checked yet but have still been downloaded through GPU-Z. Here is one of the more recent Bioses that have Hynix memory and match your Device ID ...................

Being mined with, I suggest you remove the heatsink and get a picture of a ram chip up close so the silkscreen can be seen on it. Also put fresh paste or a good pad on the gpu die.

thanks.

I would do that.

Since I have to disassemble card, can I go for hardware programming vbios chip?

Yes you can use a spi flasher but we need to physically verify what ram is in the card

It's "SKhynix".
- nothing printed on the gpu!!

Ram-chip.jpg

I'm just curious, if it's possible ram chips different with gpu-z details?

Well the part number for the gpu die is found on a metal shim surrounding the die and it starts with 215.

The good news is the bios and the ram matched, sometimes what happens is a cards bios will have incorrect ram info in it and card won't work correctly or even produce video output.

From your Boards Specific Model Number RX-59085ADJ, I found this bios.

Here is an alternate.

Some released within 5 years ago (1440/2000, HynixAJR)

Hi

- 1st one programmed: no changes!
Drivers does not installs.

-2nd one ; P/N mismatch

- 8 files from that list flashed but still driver has problem.
- 7 P/N mismatch
- 2 file corrupted

Just to be sure tried some older "amd adrenalin drivers"

(Tried this 3 files;
Whql-amd-software-adrenalin-edition-24.5.1-win10-win11-may15-rdna --- Post#4 Photo

Radeon-software-adrenalin-2019-19.1.1-win10-64bit-jan20 ---- 1st attached photo
Win10-Radeon-Software-Adrenalin-2020-Edition-19.12.2)

same error "Detected hardware but does not supported"

Searched driver with hardware-id says card is "AMD Radeon RX 580 2048SP"

on some Rx590Gme vbioses from techpowerup is same, says Rx590 Gme is re-branded Rx580.

I doubt if it related to drivers version!

Anything else I can do?

Did you try to follow the mini flash guide since you have also issues with flashing? https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/...nd-line-cmd-syntax-mini-guide-windows.291671/

Only use amdvbflash v2.93 for flashing and indeed RX590 GME is an overclocked RX580.
For RX 500 Series (Polaris) and Older:

Get amdvbflash 2.93

https://www.techpowerup.com/download/ati-atiflash/

Then look for Version 4.68, underneath 4.68 you will see a link to show older version, click that and you should see version 2.93

Here is a fix to make 2.93 work in Windows 10 and 11, Get the zip for version 5.0.567, extract it, then find the AMDVBDriverInstaller, execute the file and follow prompts, then restart the computer, that should help with bypassing Win8 Security feature prompt, if you get that prompt hit ok. Once done flashing run the file again to uninstall it for safety reasons

Follow these steps carefully:

1. Open your "C:" drive in Windows, create a new folder, call it atiflash.

2. Extract the contents of atiflash_293.zip to the "C:\atiflash" folder

3. Find the bios file you downloaded and rename the bios file to 5 digits with .rom on end Example RX 580, change file to rx580.rom (r****.rom)

4. Move r****.rom to the "C:\atiflash" folder

5. Open the start menu, type cmd, when cmd.exe appears right click it and hit "Run as administrator"

6. At the command prompt type in cd\ and press enter until only C:\> is on the screen.

7. Type in cd/atiflash and press enter, you should see C:\atiflash>

8. Type in amdvbflash.exe -i to identify the gpu you want to flash with a 0, 1, or 2)

9. At the C:\atiflash> prompt type in
amdvbflash.exe -unlockrom 0
(there is a space between the e and -unlockrom and 0)(0 is the number zero)
press enter and you will be prompted that the "ROM Unlocked" (or 1, 2)

10. At the C:\atiflash> prompt type in
amdvbflash.exe -f -p 0 r****.rom
(there is a space between the .exe and -f, and a space between -f and -p and 0).
(Or 1, 2)

Press Enter

Follow directions on screen and if flash is successful exit the command prompt and restart, windows should show up on screen.

Thanks

With this method, is there possible way to flash "verified vbios" with different P/N labels?

Cause i flashed about 15 unverified vbios successfuly and the problem is still the same
I think flashing to verified one like "Sapphire 590 Gme" would solve this.

I would follow tutorial, hope it works.

Yes, thats why you need to use v2.93. Sapphire PCB is not the same a XFX PCB. Dont do it!!!

I personally would rather flash a XFX RX 580 bios instead:

Did you consider to contact XFX for the orginal bios for your card? XFX can look it up with the serial number which bios belongs on your card.

Download DDU and after cleaning driver, try again.

Also disable fast startup since that feature can also give strange issues:

I don't think cleaning driver helps.
Tried vga on new installed windows 10,
& 2 pc with 2 different version of windows.

XFX RX 580 has no problem and works with "Adrenaline Driver 24 "

This Rx 590 GME has mining bios on it and bad thing is both bios flashed .

I should try hardware programing. :(

Go get a spi flasher, there is a guide on here for that

What do you mean? A XFX RX 590 card with RX 580 bios flashed?
No
I mean older Card "Rx580" worked fine with that driver file.

Flashed some files with Programer.
with some of them Card had no picture.
and with some of unverified-vbios files problem was still same; Amd driver wouldn't install.

----------------------------Just for others (maybe help) ------------------
(Also tried Sappire Rx590 gme : no picture
and Asrock Rx590 GME ; Had picture but in windows hardware list there was ! mark beside display adapter)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

So i gone after flashing to "RX580"
and it worked.
Recognised by driver and installed
tested with furmark and nothing appeared in short time.

Annotation 2025-03-13 235340.jpg

Not intersting one!

---- then
Rx580-Flashed.gif

Works fine.
But if there is a way to change Card name back to RX590 GME, It would be better.

Anything else?

No it wont work better, you overclock it

Thanks for replay.

I don't care about performance.
This cards are for customer and he thinks Rx-590GME is far better than Rx-580.
so I prefer to find Original file
(/ or / Edit Rx580 vbios somehow :( not lucky so far)

That's his problem, not yours, they are the same exact chip.

A RX 590GME is a rebadged RX 580 based on the Polaris 20 chip.

Show Him these:

Exact same Shaders, TMUs, ROPs, even clock speeds:

If you really want to try another bios:

If that doesnt work, you need to check all bioses which have "C940 Polaris20 XTX" in their boot message and correct memory support.
You can find those with google. Try at own risk:
site:techpowerup.com/vgabios "C940 Polaris20 XTX" "H5GC8H24AJR" "1002 6FDF"
site:techpowerup.com/vgabios "C940 Polaris20 XTX" "H5GC8H24AJR" "1002 6FDF" "1440 MHz"
