What are you playing?

1st person view is a lot better than 3rd actually. It really put me off in RE 7, enough to make me just stop bothering to play, but I like it in RE8
If you can, try it (RE VII) in VR, it was one of my best gaming experience ever. Change the whole gameplay, better aiming, ... when it's this good, VR is great :)

Finished Adventure Island 2 on my Anbernic couple of days ago. Reason why I bought it to finish all these old games I haven't finished as a child. No words to describe having finished these old games

I loaded my last save game of Fallout New Vegas, apparently I started new game some time ago and just left Mojave outpost going to Nipton. No way in hell I'm going to let these guys go.

Nice Star Wars reference but I guess everyone knows this by now

I refunded The Crew Motorfest for numerous reasons, not least that Forza Horizon 4&5 are way better.
FH5 Hot Wheels is crazy and brilliant, especially The Goliath race.

Picked Cyberpunk 2077 back up and haven't been able to put it down. The immersive dystopian setting has me hooked. Bold statement, but if it released in the state that it's in now I feel it would've won Game of The Year.

Glad you came around to an inescapable reality within the refund period.

Remember watching a video of the open demo. Never seen that much carnage in a first corner. 10 seconds after first place got collected by people who never braked there were still waves of backrunners crashing headlong into the pile at full speed from the mile straight run up. 30 seconds minimum before the competent drivers out front coming in were rolling again.

Hoonigan Escort RS is my personal favorite in FH5, nothing is as fun to drive
As it happens, that's also my favourite car in both games.

Indiana Jones & the Great Circle.

Actually enjoyable.... when it lets you play the game. Started so well, then it becomes a movie fest with unskippable, extremely long cutscenes. It's so bad, I just Alt-F4'd having watched about 20 minutes of movie for about 5 minutes of interaction with the keyboard. Why the fuck do game developers insist on doing this? Going to go Google how to cut the scenes.

Edit - I'm not alone. There's alot of folk defending it by saying it's a cinematic game with a strong story, but that's apologist BS. You can create that within the game with far shorter scenes. Gagh!

Finished the main story for FF7 Rebirth, the finale has left me a bit mixed feeling.
Why did they make it out like Cloud was able to block Sephiroth stabbing Aerith but in the end she still dies?
Adding in Zack in the story overall didn't really add that much value but more confusing element to the ever more confusing plot. But it was cool to control him and see him acknowledge at least, which I guess is just fan-service.
Cloud as a whole his character development so far just makes him look in-between empathy and A-hole.
All the other character development was done great though, Tifa stood out the most after the finale, then Aerith and then Barret, then tie between Cait-sith(added more depth to care than original) and Red-13.
Yuffie character development was decent but not much has changed from her original counterpart.

As for Cid and Vincent, I am curious now if they will be adding them both in as main roster in finale/part 3, I hate micro-managing all the characters lol, even in the original I never really bothered with juggling between characters.

Finish up Colesseum and then beat Gilgamesh and thats it for me, I can't be bothered to play it on hard-mode.

Agreed. When done right, they should be skipable after 1 or 2 confirmed viewings. If not, the devs are wasting player time and a frustrated player is an unhappy player.

FTFY.

Why should devs reduce player choice? If I don't want to watch a cutscene, why force me? Especially in the refund window.

If I care about the story, I will watch it.

If I don't, forcing me to watch it will only make me want to refund.

Ok, so have a couple different games going at the moment:

Darksiders 3: yep, it's fun. I love the style, I love the characters and the world (horsemen wheeling and dealing with angels and demons, looking down upon humanity with contempt), the gameplay with the "classic" setting is a good balance between soulsy and button mashing combat, simple and uncomplicated but impactful upgrade tree, oh yeah, and did I already mention this game just oozes with style? Love the Darksiders series...

Halo 4: So the kids are invested in riding along for a Halo MCC playthrough and we're now on Halo 4. Pretty game, gameplay feels like Halo, but not much else does. Sounds design is kinda all over the place, Chief talks quite a bit, the story is clearly one of those "didn't you read all the books and comics that make the plot make any kind of sense?", the Promethean enemy design is very, very meh and sometimes quite frustrating, and a.lot of the "sandboxiness" has been removed for pure shooting galleries.

Mad Max: Honestly expected another reskinned Arkham/Shadows style game, and the h2h combat is similar, but MM is clearly trying to do it's own thing with the vehicular combat etc. Once again a game that drops with style and fully immerses itself in a zany alternate reality of the MM world. Not completely sold on the game yet, the controls are sort of tanky, the combat system is not very forgiving and is certainly less Arkham/Shadows flow combat and much more timing dependent, and while the resource scarcity in the game makes sense, it feels like one of those things that is going to get really annoying eventually.

There is some value to be had in the cutscenes. Story telling for main one. I personally like watching/reading through a storyline at least once so that the game makes sense in context. After once or twice, yeah, it's should be skipable.

That's my point. You will watch even if it is skippable.

I generally will as well.

But @the54thvoid quit playing because of the cutscenes, on his first playthough (AFAIK).

So why should the devs take away my ability to choose if I watch a cutscene or not? Not everyone enjoys them the same way as you or I might.

Tripple AP/overdrive and Don Tonberry?
Oh, not yet. Haven't even killed the last Seymour :D

Luckily I have something nice.... shit to use to have trio of 9999 for every main story boss to go, should be a breeze. ^^

Don't forget to get the Sun Crest after you beat Yunalesca lol

Got back into CP2077. Finally on the 2nd to last mission I think. I did get to spend some interesting time with Panam.

With real hardware or emulation? It's not been THAT long since I borrowed it from my friend for NES and played the 3 first dungeons. :toast:
