Combat Flight Simmers

If you subscribe to PC Pilot magazine or not you should be happy to know Microprose is well under way with coding Falcon 5.0.

They had to buy back the title/copyright for it...lol. from BMS and will be even supporting BMS and their efforts with the modded 4.0 release which was started years back.

I will post some in game screenshots. Needless to say they at northing short of spectacular.

Microprose promises nothing short of what 3.0 and 4.0 were back in the day....exceptional and features not even seen in DCS today.

Screenshots are [per Microprose] are works in progress.

P.S. If anyone has an OEM box for 3.0 or the whole or part of the Sim itself, I would be willing to buy it just for a new OEM box as mine is getting tired.

I was lucky to get the Squadron Leaders Hard cover binder with 4.0. Absolutey the best printed series of manuals of any sim ever. No PDF files back in these days Several hundreds of pages of goodness.

Will have more shortly.

All i want is a good dynamic single player campaign. This is the biggest flaw that DCS has for me personally.

Good to see Microprose going again. I was thinking they made the Panavia Tornado sim I used to play, but that was Digital Integration. Learned about Loft attacks from that game.

Good luck beating a heavy mod with so much work in it.

Of course I will buy it either way.

MicroProse's revival is the greatest "from the ashes" retro-gaming arc ever. So far all their releases seem to be really in the spirit and, more importantly, with the depth of the old MP, unlike some other similar attempts (eg Atari).

Isn't this supposed to be a bit less focused on realism? Might explain the DCS F-35 project. DCS can occasionally lack a bit in AI and other game aspects, but I do like the mission editor. That is all I use. Can't imagine a simulator without one. If this is a more moderate realism and does have some good gameplay aspects with a strong mission editor I will be interested in it. But the small things like control bindings, camera views, learning to use a new mission editor, just makes it seem like it would be hard to get into.

In any case, I'll need to see more than renders to get excited.

Ah yeah , the days of Falcon 3.0.
Still have the edition with the Fulcrum and Hornet , and extra theaters on CD , with the "Art of the Kill" video on it , wow.

Art of the Kill video

Falcon 3 is still available on Steam , also in a bundle with Falcon 4. Think I will add it to my library :)

Are they the Company that made Space Racer?

Falcon 3.0 was from Spectrum Holobyte

Falcon 4.0 was from MicroProse

Wow, I remember those days of Falcon 4.0. I had some kind of Voodoo card, can't recall exactly but I would definitely buy this game! Then I will do down the rabbit hole of modding my racing rig for flying. LOL.

In falcon 5.0 redevelopment a hoped for addition is for the F-16 is an accurate startup JFS procedure sequence and initial instruments setup necessary for mission flight would be welcome.
