Hi, I'm having a very strange problem with the game Zenless Zone Zero I'm getting small artifacts with graphics cards.

Nvidia:
Titan X Pascal
GTX 980 Ti
Titan X Maxwell

But when I use AMD graphics cards:

RX 570 8GB
Vega 64
6800 XT
7900 XTX

i don't get any artifacts

I should point out that I always reinstall the drivers with DDU and the latest ones each time (also try older one).
I even tried with fresh Windows installations 11/10 pro and home for each GPU (yes, it took me a long time) with an all-in-one installation of Visual C++ and Windows net framework
And I also tried on several different platforms like:

x99 2011v3 i7 5960x i7 5930k i7 6900k i7 6850k i7 6800k i7 6950x and different Xeon E5 V3 V4 (Xeon V3 with and without turbo unlock ECC and no ECC ram)
z270 i7 7700k i5 6400 i5 7600k i3 7300
x79 2011 i7 4930k i7 4960x i7 3970x differents Xeon 2687w v2 ...
z97 i7 4790k i5 4690k i5 4670k
990fx FX 8320 FX 4300 FX 6300
b760 i3 12100f
trx50 Threadripper 7960x (main pc)
am5 R5 7500f

Yes, I have a lot of computer equipment. I love it. It's my passion

And all this with different brands of RAM and no overclocks on the CPUs and xmp/expo enable disable

All my NVIDIA GPUs have passed artifact detection in Furmark several times with no issues.

I don't know what to do now.

Thanks in advance

sorry for any mistakes my english is poors ...

Do you have a picture of what it looks like? Or more information on how to reproduce (I mean, specific quest, characters you may be using?)

I play this game daily, and it runs ok on the RTX 30 series GPUs (specifically RTX A2000).

Have you checked the games forums to see if anybody else is suffering the same problems or maybe it just doesn't like older nVidia GPU's
Also try turning on VSync and running the game at 60Hz if you're not already doing so it could well be that it's just running to fast on your hardware and clipping bits here and there to keep up with the frame rate as the system requirements are pretty light stating a GTX1660 as recommended for GPU or GTX970 as minimum means it's a pretty lightweight game

Hi, thanks for your reply.

So, to reproduce the problem:

Artifacts often appear as small 1cm/1cm squares, often in the shadows of the sun (in dark places).

Sometimes instantly after launching the game or several hours later.

I've already tried to lock my FPS, but that didn't solve the problem.

And no, I didn't take a photo. I'll try to take one tonight.

I don't think the vram is overheating i already change the thermal pads for good ones and same size

Already tried on several different motherboard brands

Asrock Asus Machinist x99 MSI

I recorded the game, this is what the artifacts look like you can see it on the wall

it's just one frame or two but I caught it, looks like a geometry error. could be a driver bug on the older cards. Do all of your 10 series GPUs do the same thing? I sold my 1070 Ti some time ago so I'm unable to test.

Nice trigger btw :)
yes all my nvidia gpus
GTX 980/980ti
780ti low settings because 3gb of vram
1070
Titan X pascal/maxwell
It's weird It's not a hardware problem, it's more software ?
Because all AMD gpu i try they didn't do that

Thanks for helping me btw

Hi yes i try everything
low settings high settings
Vsync on/off
disable/enable Gsync/Freesync
With all the CPU i mentionned before

If it's happening on all of your NVIDIA GPUs and not the AMD ones, I don't see how it could be anything but a driver problem. Maybe NVIDIA will fix it with the next driver update, but I wouldn't hold my breath since their Game Ready drivers have been a mess recently.

It's a software issue. You've already gone to way more trouble than I ever would for a free to play game. Play it on one of your amd cards. Case closed.

free to play game

Chat, who's gonna tell him :D

Yeah. It also looks like it's only affecting older cards, I've played a ton of it this week and nothing weird was happening with my Ampere card.

I was really worried about nothing.

Thank you for your answers.

I think I must have spent ~$1500 on hoyo games since i started playing a year and a half ago and I'm not even a very heavy spender :fear:
To each their own. Makes me feel better about buying my kid 20 dollars of Robux.

The most sense is found in this.
