I bought laptop from HP and My GPU rx6550m is very limited to 50w and I want to vbios to unlock full potential 80w I'm in Africa and I need real help.

Given its a laptop this is a super bad idea unless you know you can recover if the card is bricked. Do you have any of the supporting tools or skill to recover in the event you turn it on to a black screen?

Don't get me wrong, I hate what TPU has become in terms of anti risk taking, and I do some pretty crazy shit and this is not a great idea.

You dont flash laptops unless you are ready to never use it again.

Edit: Also why 80w? That’s oddly specific; did you read this somewhere? Do you have access to thermal paste? The tools to disassemble the laptop? How do you plan to take on another 30w in thermal load? Did you test if you have fan control?

Please post a screenshot of GPU-Z with the current information for the graphics card.

This card likely will fall under the RX 6500 Series. Need to verify.

You have a few options. None of these are verified BIOS files, but they should work with your unit. Again, this is going to be trial and error. None of them list TDP. You will need to verify and check them before flashing.

Your card has Samsung Memory as reported by GPU-Z. I would verify by checking the physical memory chips on the board.

Thanks for reply and I really appreciate you, but exact match for rx6550m dos it exists ?

# rx6500m only and exclusively come with 50w

#rx6550m there are three versions (50w,65w,80w)

#rx6550m 80w beats rx6500m 50w (Best version)

# MSI bravo 15 rx6550m it have rx6560m 65w

# Lenovo Thinkpad z16 gen2 it have rx6550m 80w

# HP victus 15 which is mine it have rx6550m 50w which underperform a lot comparing the two

# I can't find MSI version or Lenovo in Database.

Not knowing how to take an actual screenshot in 2025 makes me think this is a horrible idea.

Also your benchmark comparisons aren't even correct. You had a TDP limited 6550M (Limited for a reason mind you) not a 6500M

I'm not sure what that has to do with anything. You could be a martian stranded on the moon, doesn't change the fact that you shouldn't do this.

I really want to do this , I have full understand, I know how to vbios flash all I ask is vbios for rx6550m 65w or 80w , can you help or not ? With no disrespect

As I have told other users, you are not going to get an exact match for your particular card. Laptop cards are not like their desktop counterparts. It doesn't appear that HP has ever used an 80W version of this card that I can find. 6500 and 6550 are the same series. The 6550 are higher binned chips that have a higher clock speed.

The Lenovo vBIOS I linked is the 80W you are looking for. No guarantees.

Use at your own risk.

Do you have Air Conditioning?

You better have a spi programmer and a deep pocket incase the flash fails, mobile parts are not cheap.

Better yet back up your firmware first, then use the spi flasher

Unless it is noted in the notes of the vBIOS when it is submitted to the database, not that I am aware of. Again, HP did not implement a 80W version that I could find.
