it is broken now for OLED users with the new Dark Mode, again, if it can't be fixed or the community doesn't want it fixed, that is fine, I will just go back to light mode. its really just the red power button that annoys me, its out of place with the rest of it. the badge itself size and blue part doesn't bother me at all. red is generally over saturated a bit in OLED (based on my experience with many devices of OLED) so that red power button just pops right out at ya in dark mode, @W1zzard this description might help you understand better actually, hope it makes sense the way I worded it

Man, I understand your bias. That said, I'm nearing 15 years. What the thing is, is a gamer points, achievement points, etc... banner. It is that little hit of "I matter" to some people that makes it somehow worth doing. I, on the other hand, voted with those near 15 years to remove it. Call me old, but every time that little achievements thing pops up I have a small pang of contempt. That same pang that loved when I was actually rewarded for playing, and now sees this is losing the reward but trying to keep people engaged.

Henceforth all badges will be a paid DLC paving the way to introducing MX in multiple digital currencies that will all be required in various amounts spread across numerous unique bank transactions. Non-payment opts you out of any prestige (uncertain impact on growing personal contempt ).


Not saying, but really I'm saying...

I'm with frick on not even seeing the badges or caring if a post is that much longer. Interpretation is just as open there as it is with +10K posts.

25th Anniversary planning and primping should be given over to those placing personal interests aside. I think that is the message I'd be happy to be associated with.

I have 4 badges on my screen sometimes when I am scrolling, it takes up vertical space (so even if badges stay it should go to username area if possible), and when you have a lot of badges on screen at once, i just find it distracting. when you screenshot just one badge like this its not an issue i agree, and honestly its not an issue the way it is. W1zz asked for peoples opinions, so I gave mine, its not a big deal either way.

I just think it would look more clean if I could gray them out in dark mode, or move to user name area like where it says Astronaut under my name there, or toggle on and off, i dunno it really doesn't matter to me.

i already switched back to light mode and the badges don't bother me anymore. for some reason they just look right in light background. triggers my ocd in dark mode though. im autistic as fuck though, so decisions shouldn't be made on a sample size of one, lol which is why this is a good thread idea so people can discuss it

but i have said everything i want to say, so i really am going to unwatch the thread now and ask for people to not quote me moving forward if possible.

As an oled user this isnt a big deal in the slightest peoples avatars sit in 1 spot just as long on my screen before I scroll and almost all of them are made of colors brighter than that stupid badge and the avatars themselves are arguably more irrelevant.

It might actually be a good thing if the badges stay, the more I think about it, I think I kind of like the extra spaces between posts. It makes it less crowded / wall of text effect. Interesting, I wasn't expecting to change my opinion on this, but I was just browsing some other threads and this crossed my mind... still would like a toggle to gray it out or leave it default though, and another toggle to remove them or add them maybe, then everyone can pick and choose what they want.

No man, don't do that. OLED is still an uncommon thing. People don't understand the HDR contrast aspect of it. You've got to forgive their ignorance and brush off the mockery, or dish it back like I do..

That's odd. If anything, the page selector for the threads is what looks kind of odd for me. I agree though, instead of removing or rarefying them by making it so only veeeery old users get recognized (which are still a very large part of the regulars anyway), just move it to the side like you (and I) suggested. Seems like a clear cut way to solve the dispute.
